Description of Work: I called him to come and give an estimate to clean the air conditioner vents. He brought the equipment in before he gave me a price. I said I just wanted a price and he explained he just wanted to be ready. He went through the house and came back with a quote of like $4000 to put in new insulation, patch squirrel holes in the roof, spray pesticide etc. in attic. I called my boyfriend about it and told him the man said we could get a credit on income tax for the insulation (per Masters) He looked it up and said that deduction was not allowed anymore and he did not want to do business with the man. By that time Masters had his helpers patching the roof at what sounded like a reasonable price. I guess I felt stressed with the whole situation and he ended up cleaning the duct work. They were there like 2 hours so I am not sure how good the duct work or the roof patching was but I felt like the $1300 bill was way too high. He said he would come back every year for $100 duct treatment. I have never been able to get him to return a call. The best thing he did was to clean out the dryer vent. My rating is probably due to the fact that I felt pressured by his rushing and that he kept acting like he was cutting the price which to me still ended up being higher than other quotes.

Called Michael on a Friday, and he said that he would be in my area over the weekend to look at what needed to be done. He did not show up or call. I called again the next week, and he apologized, but had lost my info - which he found while we were talking. He stated that he would be by the following weekend. Unfortunately, I never saw or heard from him.
Description of Work: Requested a proposal to do a repair on a damaged brick mailbox (which Michael did not know if he could do or not) and a new tile backsplash for the kitchen.

He's creative. He's very quick to respond, which is important. I trust his judgment. I trust his diagnosis of the problem. He's found ways to fix things that are not outrageously expensive. He doesn't go for the most expensive fix all the time. He's good. I met him when he did an inspection on a building that I was selling. We got into a conversation and he told me that what he really liked to do was "a little bit of this and a little bit of that" -- to help people with things like plumbing problems, etc. I remembered that, and when I needed somebody for that I gave him a call.
Description of Work: He does a little of everything. I've been using him for a couple of years now. I call him whenever I have anything that needs to be taken care of. He helps me with minor plumbing problems, electrical problems, construction things. Anything that goes wrong, I call him. If he can't do it, then he tells me he can't.
