+ -1 moreNOT WELL - My AC thermostat stopped working on Saturday morning - I called Lee Heating and Cooling - tech arrived promptly. The technician verbally quoted me a price of $630 for the new thermostat and installation. The job was completed in well under 30 minutes. I called the office and the girl I spoke with and I both agreed that the tech may have transposed the numbers, meaning the price for the job should have been 360 not 630 (since it was so high - the highest average price for this type of job I could find on internet was 400).The thermostat was replaced with a Honeywell Home T6 Pro - Model number TH621OU2001. This thermostat can be bought online for about $74 - Home Depot carries them for $95.50 with an installation fee of $99, bringing the total of the same job for just under $200. I received an email invoice Monday afternoon from Lee Heating and Cooling for $680 ($50 more than I was quoted). (The invoice also has an X in the sign areas which I did not enter)The charge for this service from Lee was approx. $485 higher than Home Depot. I called and spoke with General Manager, who was very condescending and told me there was nothing that could be done, that I agreed to that price - He said they had to make money and I couldn't go by internet pricing! My advise is this: NEVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING

+ -1 moreThe power company paid for it. They inspected all the air conditioning vents, and made sure it was charging, and so forth. It took about an hour and a half, to complete the inspection. The workers were fine.
Description of Work: They did an inspection on the unit, and report through the power company. It was an annual type inspection and tune up.

Description of Work: I worked with the salesman/designer to improve the airflow within our home. The original builder (in 1998)did the minimum, so airflow and balance were both sub standard. Adding larger ducting and new registers and a new return solved the problems of poor distribution and noise.

+ -1 moreWe initially called many heating and air places to replace our HVAC and got quotes from Hamrick, Lee, and Air Design. Mr. Hamrick came and took pictures of our attic and ductwork and explained that we really ought to replace everything or the new HVAC would really not be very helpful. A family friend is a retired HVAC technician and he came and inspected the attic and agreed with Mr. Hamrick and said he didn't think anyone was just trying to get my money, but the ducts were in terrible shape- probably the same since the house had A/C installed. (My house was built in 1902) I then got a round of quotes for replacing the ducts AND an HVAC! We ended up consulting and contracting Lee for the work. They were always courteous, prompt, and polite. We replaced the heat pump (or whatever it is) with the HVAC and the previous owners who had replaced it had left the old one up there! So they removed TWO heat pumps. all of the old ductwork, and replaced the ductwork, the thermostat, the hurricane pad, and the HVAC. I actually wished I could have seen how they did this because I have 12' ceilings and the scariest attic ladder. They cleaned up after everything and carted it all away. TLDR: they had the best price and were also the most transparent and flexible about features I wanted or didn't want and all of the workers were top notch.
Description of Work: Remove existing ducts, replace ductwork, install HVAC, thermostat, and concrete pad. Also TWO heat pumps had to be removed.

Description of Work: Installed the Aquaox water filter for the whole house. Excellent job. Also installed safety shutoff on new gas stove and re-piped some pipes under the house, a lot of extra work.. This is the third job I have contracted with Lee Plumbing. They do excellent work and real service afterward. Definetely recommended.

Description of Work: I have used the services of Lee Mechanical and Plumbing in November 2010 for plumbing. They put in a new drainage and water system from the house to the meter. They changed all the water plumbing throughout the house and made it up to the code.

Description of Work: Mark was able to find a leak in the condenser, which he then repaired vacumed the system and refilled with freon. He also did the maintainance service on both systems.

+ -1 moreWith regard to LMand P, the overall experience was just excellent. All three bids I received were competitive and I feel confident I would have been satisfied with any of them. However, "proof of the pudding is in the eating" as they say. I will probably submit my thoughts on the performance of the contractor I finally selected after the job has been completed.
Description of Work: I requested three bids to replace a 15 year old upstairs heat pump originally installed at the time my home was built. Although I selected another bid, I did want to report my extremely positive experience with Lee Mechanical & Plumbing (LM&P). The owner of the company, Mr. Gary Lee, responded immediately to my request to survey my project. His inspection (I followed him into the attic and around the house.) was VERY thorough. He pointed out several issues which would make installation of the replacement unit more effective. Like the other two bidding contractors he suggested that the return-air on my present system was undersized and made specific suggestions about the best way to resolve that issue. LM&P's bid package was very professionally done (by far the most detailed and really quite remarkable for a residential job). It contained numerous cut-sheets from industry technical manuals detailing unit capacities and load requirements relevant to my particular job. (probably more than the average homeowner wants to look at, but I found them extremely informative and useful). Because I modified the job requirements during the bidding process, Mr. Lee visited my home on three (count 'em) occasions to review the details of the change and to personally deliver and go-over his bid. The other contractors just e-mailed me theirs. With regard to the ~$13,000.00 price of the project, it should be noted that a second small heat-pump unit was included to condition a back-porch area. The price also includes some modifications to the existing duct system. I mention the foregoing for the benefit of anyone doing price comparisons. I certainly plan to ask LM&P to bid when it comes time to replace the downstairs unit in my home.

The unit will undoubtedly save me much $ as my meter is running at a snail's pace compared to before the installation. I love it! The heat is even (no hot/cold, hot cold) and I can't hear it running inside the house. Gary's company did an excellent job!
Description of Work: Gary Lee assessed my house for a GEOTHERMAL heat pump. He was one of three companies recommended to me by our local power company. He was knowledgeable,fair and reasonably priced. He was up to date on the laws regulating geothermal and found ways to save me $. He also made available a loan w/ 6 month no interest which was a big help.
