Noel had come out earlier and given us an estimate on about 10 jobs we needed done. The current job was to build a set of railings for our existing gazebo, install them, and paint the rails and gazebo. The cost was to be $915.00 which included all materials and paint. Over the course of about 11 days Noel and his coworker spent about 6 days building the rails, installing them and painting the gazebo. They got rained out 2 days. When Noel started painting the handrails I realized I really hated the color I had chosen. He gladly spent about 20 minutes with me applying different variations of colors we did like to figure out what would look best before we committed to a color. It was a HUGE help. After colors were decided on they had to repaint the balusters in the new color. No complaints were heard. Upon completion of the job the overall look was great. However, I was disappointed in the finished look of the wood. The ends of the handrails were left raw and rough and I pulled 3 or 4 splinters about 5 inches long and as big around as a pencil off the sides of the railings. There were gaps between the top of the rails and the supporting boards under it. Several of the 2x4s were rough and splintery and needed sanded and repainted. While sanding the rough spots on the 2x4s I noticed the balusters had actually been painted 2 different shades of white. I think this is a common enough error to get the wrong shade of white that I didn't get too upset over it. Noel is coming out this week to repaint them. I also found one of the balusters had been cut an inch too short and fell out of the rail. I am hoping he will also be fixing that. Noel is very friendly. His prices are fair. And overall his work is good. The biggest problem I had was with communication and punctuality. He would not always return my call or text in a timely manner. He would tell me he would be at my home at 9 am and not show up until between 9:30 and11. And I am glad I was not paying him by the hour. Amendment: As of Sept 2, 2013 Noel never repainted the balusters or repaired the broken baluster. As was very commonplace with him he set up dates to come out several times but then never showed up. I would never receive a communication informing me he would not be coming. He would text me 2 days later with apologies and excuses and promise to come out but I never saw him again. When I am finished resealing the deck box he made me I will repaint the balusters.

I had Noel build a deck box to use by our pool to hold our pool supplies. He said he had never built one before but set to it. A few days later he showed up with my beautiful deck box. It was just like the picture I had shown him. He called me from the lumber store while picking up the pine we were going to use. He said the cedar looked so pretty and thought I may like it better. I asked how much more it would cost and he said he would not raise the price. Amendment: After about a month I noticed the wood is turning blackish gray in some areas where it has been wet. I will have to sand those areas down and reapply the sealer. I have ended up using D & N for several jobs. I changed my rating to show I would not use them again. Noel never showed up on time, or at all and never called to let me know he would be late or that he is not coming. He would call a day or 2 later with lots of apologies and excuses, reschedule and then not show up again. This was not a one time occurrence. I will forgive a certain amount of tardiness or having to reschedule if I am at least notified. They are unreliable and inconsiderate.

We had hired D & N to do several jobs for us. Noel had just finished one job at our home earlier this day and now started on the installation of a cedar ceiling in our gazebo. On July 23rd he gave us an estimate for this job of $2600-$2700. On the 28th he realized his original calculations were off by almost 100 feet. So the price then went to $2900 - $3000. Two years ago the builder of our gazebo did a less than perfect job and Noel had to deal with complications such as uneven sides, twisted support beams, and other odd angles. His co-worker for this job, Fred, was really on the ball and seemed to know a lot about carpentry. In the end they managed to work around each imperfection and the ceiling turned out beautifully. I would have rated them higher and used them again but Noel never showed up on time, or at all and never called to let me know he will be late or that he is not coming. He would call a day or 2 later with lots of apologies and excuses, reschedule and then not show up again. I had D & N do several jobs for me and this was not a one time occurrence. Noel Moseley will represent himself as a managing member of D & N home Improvements even though D & N Home Improvements LLC is no longer in business (according to the BBB and the State of Florida). I hired him to build a deck in my back yard. The overall construction of the deck was good. However, he used interior screws on over half of the deck. This wasn?t noticeable until after it rained one week later and the screws began to rust. He admitted the mistake and said he would correct it. However, he never showed up and stopped responding to my calls. I ended up replacing the screws myself and pressure washing the deck to remove the stains. Once you pay him, you will never see or hear from him again.
