TruGreen did my lawn, Shrubs and Trees for the last year. During this period on numerous occasions, I spoke to the technician because my lawn started being replaced by weeds and had numerous brown and dead spots. All the technician told me was to just wait and it would get better and never offered any advice or recommendations of other treatments that would improve the condition of the lawn. It’s been a year now and approximately 60% of my lawn (that was in good condition a year ago) is now dead or has been replaced by weeds. I called to cancel my service and “then” they offered to send out a manager to test my lawn and soil to identity any possible causes; Talk about being a day late and dollar short!!! I also want to say that none of my neighbors have any of the problems that my lawn has subsequently, this damage to my lawn was not an environmental issue it was a direct result of TruGreens's chemical applications. Stay away from TruGreen!

This is by far the worst service I have received from any contractor of any type. The service was horrible. My lawn actually looks worse than when I began. And, even worse is the customer service. The company operates as separate billing and service entities, and for all practical purposes, they make it as difficult as possible to get satisfactory service or to correct billing issues or cancel service. I prepaid for one year of lawn service and one year or tree and shrub service. I has been a nightmare. If it wasn't inappropriate in a public forum, I would use much more flowery language. For any and all that read this, I would avoid trugreen like the plague. I would give less than one star if possible. They are just horrible in every way imaginable.

My lawn looks worst than before hiring True Green. Their techs let themselves into my backyard and leave within two minutes and leave their report on the door without alerting me. I have repeatedly asked that they knock on my door before starting the service, but never do. In the end, I paid True Green for killing my lawn!

Terrible service. When they actually showed up and performed the lawn service, they constantly damaged my container plants with their big hose that that they dragged around to spray. My wife told me that she frequently didn't see them in the backyard after knocking on the front door to notify us that they were here to perform the service. After COVID, the company policy was changed such that they no longer knocked to notify the resident of their arrival as part of the social distancing efforts. We still knew they were coming due to email notifications and our gate guard calling for approval to let them in. Finally, to test my wife's suspicion that they don't actually perform the service, I decided to check for myself. I went to the front porch and greeted the tech upon arrival. This seemed to surprise/startle him. I asked him if he was going into the back yard to spray and he said he was. I went into the house to meet him in the back but didn't tell him I would be waiting for him out back. I waited five minutes and he never came around. Thinking he may be having trouble with his hose or something, I went to the side gate where he was supposed to be entering the backyard and there was no sign of him. I walked back to the front of the house and his truck was gone. On the front lawn was the little placard that said the yard had been treated by Trugreen that they always left before departing. So, I confirmed my wife's suspicions that they arrive, put their placard on the lawn but don't actually do the work. Furious, I called the company to report my complaint. The lady I spoke to was located in Maryland and she asked me to repeat my entire complaint. She confided that she had been receiving similar complaints from all over the country. For this and various other reasons, I cancelled my service and would not recommend TruGreen to anyone.

I have been a client for about 3 years to TruGreen. This year I noticed that they bill me for services that they did not perform. I have complained in April, June and July about it. On 06/28/2018 I spoke to Michelle at the customer services department, and she told me she will escalate my concerns and that the branch manager will call me back. Never happened. On 07/03/2018 I have called again and again they told me that a manager will call me back. This year They have billed me 3 times at $45 a piece for a service never performed. I was happy with the service of this company until this year, since they charge their customers for work they don't perform.

Had seen them around my neighborhood, and called them Prices were explained, informed them I had a coupon for the first treatment. Treatment was scheduled and I was assured I would be called first before they came out so I could discuss the plan for my yard. Three days later, I received notification that my treatment had been completed. They sent a pdf, didn't leave anything on my door as they were supposed to, so I went to my security cameras where I see two men using machines to "aerate" my yard, basically poking holes in it. I have 3296 sq. ft. of treatable area, this being measured by them via the google earth satellite photo--what a joke! for this hole-poking, I was charged 145.95. Then I was informed that service was next scheduled for May 31st. In fact TWO services had been scheduled--one for a "potash" treatment, and the second to spray insecticide and fertilizer. I was home, and received notification that the techs were on there way within a certain time period, and the techs were named. I then got notification that the potash service had been completed, again between 12:51-12:54 PM. THREE whole minutes to apply granules to over 3200 sq.ft of treatable lawn! I again went to my security areas, and the tech, Leroy, did in fact pull up in front of my house--BUT NEVER GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK. He promptly drove away at 12:54! I was lucky he might have put the truck in park! The other tech, David G., came out after that and I told him what had happened, and he was very apologetic and saw for himself nothing had been applied to my yard. He and his trainee were extremely professional, and I had to leave during the treatment application, but they left a summary at my door to read later. Again, today, I received notification that the tech was coming to perform a treatment, again a lawn spray, and I was home and received notification that the service had been completed. I pulled the pdf file, and the time said 10:33-10:34 am completed. I again went to my security cameras, and as I suspected, NO ONE SHOWED UP. As I had already called them numerous times to complain, and a customer service rep, Darryl Johnson had called me to beg for a second chance, I have had enough. This was the second chance, and they continued the same shady behavior. If I had not had my cameras, I never would have known this shady practice and fraudulent billing for services NOT rendered would have been going on. I was promised refunds for the potash treatment that never materialized, and will complain loudly to anyone if they ever ask about this company. They are fraudulent, and you are lucky if you get what they promise. How many other unsuspecting customers are they doing this to??

I've used them; I'm using them now. They do my lawn and my shrubs and they do mosquitoes at separate times. They did it for free because they wanted me to try their service. So, I tried it, because I do other business with them. I wasn't happy with one thing, and they came out. Now they're working on correcting the problem with them. I guess the punctuality is okay, they never call to tell me they're coming out, but that's fine.

It's an ongoing subscription. We had a little bit of a hiccup because they got the service address wrong, but that's not typical for them. The guys are very good. The people that come out here are typically very nice and they're very conscientious, they take input and feedback and all that, and they try really hard. Over the phone, their customer service is pretty accommodating, as far as what my father told me yesterday about calling them; he calls them. Their billing, their scheduling, and their logistics seem to be a little wobbly. He called them to find out why we had a past due bill when we're on a subscription service and that's being paid regularly, and that turned out to be an error. For professionalism, I'm thinking more of the people that actually do the lawn. From my perspective, the people that actually touch the lawn is how I judge the efficacy of the service. The back end, that seems to be endemic to a lot of corporate scenarios where it's up to the individual's motivation and sense of urgency or whatever the importance about keeping the accounts straight. And I don't know how their their scheduling, their dispatching is, and all that, but we had to tell them that first, (A) there's a billing error, and (B) by the way, my neighbor brought me the bill because you guys came out and did their lawn instead of ours. I know, it's obvious to me, that they had a substitute tech that came out because I personally filed out a five star for the guy that normally does our lawn because he's a super nice guy. They're very accommodating and responsive and what not, so I know they sent somebody else that had to cover for him or whatever, and it was like one number off on the address. So it was just a matter of either they didn't give him the best info or he didn't read the service address and what not. So somebody else in the neighborhood got our lawn care, for once. But my father talked to them and told them and they were like oh sorry, we'll send somebody out, and of course now it's raining like he** and I don't know when that's gonna happen. But it would have been great to have that treatment because then we would've got all the wash-down from the rain.

The service turned out okay. The only problem was that they have a whole list of services that they want to provide and it gets to be expensive. I don’t know how they work it, but they have like a menu and every time they call or come over they want to come and do a service. It gets to be very expensive. That’s the bottom line here. They hook you up and you have to pay monthly. I think one service was like $49.95 for tree and shrub service. I think that’s monthly and then there’s something else that’s every other month, and then there’s something else every three months. It piles up to a good amount of commitment. I don’t know what the prices are in the industry. The quality is good. They responded quickly to me. They were on time. They were polite and professional.

Honestly, I'm about ready to cancel them, so no, I would not recommend them at this time. I'm searching options, alternative. They need to provide the service that I'm paying for by fertilizing all of my trees and shrubs, not just randomly fertilizing some, to be specific. I have actually called them on it, and I have still not heard from them. The price is hard to tell because I've only had them, and they're about to lose me. Their quality is great when they do it. Everyone that has come has been wonderful, "A" actually, for the service techs. Like I said, I'm in the process of changing. I want to find someone else, so, am I going to use them again? No, I'm going to change. Yeah, I'm going to have to say no. Can you tell I'm conflicted? It's rather conflicting, but it's a mess.

About 9 months into the contract with dismal results with the service technician blaming me for everything....you cut it too high....you cut it too low......you water it too much....you water it too little....my lawn became a total disaster. They suggested I pay them $300 for sod plugs to restore it to the level when we started. I said: "we had more good grass when you started than we will after placing plugs. Why would I trust you?". So I ended my contract and re-sodded myself for $300. Then called in Ted Conner who has guided me through the highs and lows getting rid of cinch bugs and fungus properly. Today my lawn flourishes.
Description of Work: I had a lawn that was failing but still in very decent shape. It need fertilization, pest control and invigoration. About 80 percent of the grass was good and hardy with some brown spots.

This was possible the worst service I have every received from a company, who spends so much time documenting what they do. My experience with this company is that they are incompetent at best and the other possibility is even worst. Several Tru Green employees who serviced my lawn and others who come to my home on several occasion during the service period and described themselves as being in charge of customer service and satisfaction where told and shown that sections of my lawn was dying. I pointed out to both individual on many different visit the these sections of my lawn were dying. Two quality people on different occasions examined the lawn, so it was dying and told me it was because it was not getting enough water during the hot summer months. When I point out that other sections in the same area were not dying he told me that was because they were feeding off of the water from my air handler. The service person who sprayed came each month, he had to see the grass was dying and what he was doing wasn't effective, but continued to write the same notes on his report that the lawn was doing well. Tru Green took more than $400 from me over this year and left me with a lawn that the new pest control company I hired today told me will need to be re sodded. I feel like I've been scammed by Tru Green. I feel this way because Tru Green repeatedly after each treatment gave me a report that said nothing about the grubs that have now pretty killed a 1000 sq ft section of my lawn. My new lawn service found the grubs immediately when they dug into the dead grass this morning.

How'd it go? For the first eight months of the contract, great. I had a serious problem with aggressive weeds and they took care of it. And then ... A new guy started servicing my lawn and his laziness was obvious from the start. So were the weeds that began popping up. Let me boil down what followed: Calls to get him to come back out between regular service calls to correct the problems, as required by contract ... lack of response to those calls ... finally coming out and again falling to address the problem ... eventually I began leaving messages for a manager, but it took a week to even get one to return my calls. ... took another week for him to finally come out (at an unannounced time) ... he admitted there was a problem and said he'd get someone out in the next several days ... two weeks later, no service rep, no messages getting returned. In short: INCOMPETENCE and a lack of caring. It's as if Comcast went into lawn care. I will correct one minor thing -- they are good at phoning me, but not to address the issues. Instead, if you sign up for their service, they will call you and call you with what they call "upselling" -- trying to get you to buy additional services you don't need. Worse, they disguise these calls, "We're out servicing in your area tomorrow and will come by to take care of the fungus and insects on your shrubs." What they don't tell you is this service is NOT part of your contract. And if you ask exactly which vegetation needs to be addressed, they will be vague. This is because they haven't surveyed your property -- they just want you to buy. I pinned down one such caller, asking for specific trees and plants that had problems, and caught him in an outright lie (my gates are all locked and there is no way to see what is in my back yard; he also listed problems for plants in the front yard that I do not have). You may still be inclined to sign up for their service, knowing you can cancel at any time. What they don't tell you is THEY dictate the terms of cancellation and THEY determine how much of a refund they feel like sending you. Trust me, their math is different from yours. When I asked for copies of the contract clauses that permitted their fuzzy math, they admitted it's not in writing, it's simply their "policy." This isn't just some unhappy customer embellishing a bad situation. There isn't a single fact in this review TruGreen can dispute. None.

I would like to apologize for the problems that you have experienced with your TruGreen service, and the dissatisfaction with your lawn condition. Per the local office, Branch Service Management has informed that attempts have been made to reach you by phone to address your concerns, to no avail. We understand that you have cancelled and moved on, but we are more than eager to try and address your concerns at your convenience. Please let us know if you would like to discuss. Thank you.

I hired this co. Last spring to take care of chinch bugs and white fly infestation. I left for the summer and returned in Oct. My side patio trees and walkway were covered with black whitefly guano. COVERED! When the guy crossed my driveway pavers He didn't turn off the sprayer and it sprayed a white residue all over mypavers which I had cleaned and resealed in May. I called the office and all i was told was to scrub the pavers with Dawn soap MYSELF or do nothing and the rain will wash it off.II am recovering from an auto accident so i have waited now a month and as of today the white residue is still there. On the 24th of October they came again to fertilize. My ixora hedge has turned brown.from a bad mix of chemicals. DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY IN YOUR YARD

Their billing practices are outrageous. I had a non-contract commitment wherein they would spray the yard for bugs, apply a fertilizer, a weed killer, and every three months they would treat the tree's. Sometimes when they treated the yard, and on the same day, another truck would show up to treat the tree's. So instead of $49.00 per visit, it was $98.00. Sometimes, there were three trucks on the same day and they did the same thing, so the charges came to $147.00. I called to complain, and was told that the price would be adjusted; it never was. I canceled the service. Three days after I canceled, another truck arrived to spray the yard. Then, I received a call saying that my payment was two weeks over-due. My once pristine yard looks terrible! There are areas in my back yard where the grass is completely dead, and I'm going to have to have it re-sodded. More money out of my pocket thanks to TruGreen.
