Hart's Painting

The process began with a thorough top-to-bottom pressure washing of the exterior to remove loose soil and old loose paint. This was so effective, that the house looked like it had just been painted. Tom Hart and his associates then proceeded to wrap our hurricane shutters and mask the myriad glass panels of our colonial windows. In the course of their work, the Hart team patched cracks in the stucco and repaired soft spots in fascia boards where needed. Tom also told us where the fascia needed actual replacement and he advised the roof repairmen about the details. They worked carefully and professionally, and, when finished, totally cleaned up our yards. We were left with cans of leftover paint for future touch-ups. Tom's estimate, which took him about 30 minutes to assemble, was in between the others. Confident in his craftsmanship, we were willing to pay more than the lower bidder, because price is not everything when purchasing a service like this.

We called Tom in July to give us an estimate, but decided to hold off with the painting until the fall. When we called him in October, he started working within 3 days. We have never had our house painted as beautiful as it looks today! Tom and his workers were punctual and very professional. They left everything spotless. Excellent work ethics!!

Called Tom Hart and asked for him to come over and give us an estimate to paint the exterior of our house. He came over that night and was right on time. Tom is very prsonalble and well versed in his line of work. We walked around and I showed him what we wanted done and how. I also asked a bunch of questions regarding how he would aproach the job, which he answered to my satisfaction each time. Tom asked about what colors we wanted, and we told him. He offered his opinions and showed us several optional color choices. He also advised that we should visit his paint supplier, Sherwin-Williams in Weston. We hired him on the spot as we had several quotes already and he was the most competative, plus he seemd to be the most professional and helpful...and... he had an EXCELLENT rating on ANGIE's LIST! We actually made plans and visited the Sherwin-Willams store that weekend, which turned out to be a mixed blessing. The sales people at the store were completely useless and did not seem inclined to help us at all...as a matter of fact we thought that maybe we had turned invisable! On a positive note, we did consider some of Tom's advice and ended up going in a completly different color group than we had initially thought. We informed Tom of our color choices and thanked him for challeging us to give it some thought. Submitted our color pallet to the HOA and in a few weeks got our approval. Tom was able to schedule us for a week later and we gave him a reasonable deposit. Tom came over one more time so we could discuss what I needed to do to get any landscaping and other obsticles out of his way. While we were walking around, he pointed out some tiles that were craked and falling off below the side garage door and offered to fix it for free, which he did! Tom actually showed up a day early and got his prep work started. Unfortunately for Tom and his crew the weather simply was not going to cooperate and it rained on and off for the next few days. To Tom's (and his crew) credit they perservered and were patient, and when they got a break would get as much done as they dared. Overall it took them a bit longer than expected, but the result was satisfactory for the most part. I had to have Tom come and fix a few small issues that I found with the project (nothing major), which he did very promptly. My only real issue is that Tom used the balance of the left over paint (main color) to fix the issues, so we were left with no touch-up paint for the main house color. Not too big of a deal as we do know the color and can go back to a Sherwin-Willams store (NOT the Weston store!!!) and get some, which we will need to do as I have found a few areas that I would like to do to match the house color. Overall our experiance with Hart Painting was a positive one, and Tom IS THE REAL DEAL!!!!!!!

Pedro had to remove the wallpaper first then paint the walls. First, I had to remove all my stuff because he had to use allot of water and he did't want to get it all wet. her asked me for a big trashbin. i gave him a big trashbag and he put all the paper in there. Then he put on a primer and let if dry over night. Pedro came back at 8 a.m. the next morning and painted the walls. He then had to to a door with two colors. He said he had to do three coats on the outside. It looked fine to me the way he did it.

Mr. Tom Hart and his crew did an amazing job! They were on time every single day, worked focused and very professional. I was sad to see them go. They removed the popcorn form the living-dining and loft area, two bedrooms, the master bathroom and the walk-in closet. They cleaned after the job was competed, and even Mr. Hart suggested to paint a wall that wasn't included in the estimate, at no charge (it was a small wall that was in the dining area, but was part of the kitchen at the same time. I would use them again, and I recommend this company to anyone who is in need of a great professional.

He is a very honest and straightforward person. He supervises his workers and rechecks after they are done with the work. I find him to be very honorable. I would use them in the future.

Found on Angie's List and picked companies that had best positive responses by others. Hart's communications were very good, and an estimate was provided within 48 hours. Specifics of job were thoroughly reviewed as to what I wanted completed and how. A contract was signed and the job commensed withihn 2 weeks. The job was completed quickly and properly, with NO squawks, whatsoever.We used a top quality paint (why try to save $100 on a house paint job with inferior paints?) and the application was top notch. All window sills were repaired, everything primed and sealed. Finish was MUCH better than my original, only 5 years old. I highly recommend Hart's. There may be cheaper companies, but I cannot believe anyone could do a better job. Thanks Charles in Florida

The job came out better than we could even imagine. It was done professional and cheap!!! The two things we were going for.

Due to the tropical weather we have in Florida during the summer, it was touch and go with the rain. They were able to complete the job on days it didn't rain. I was satisfied with the job and would recommend them to my friends.

They were very prompt - both in responding to Angie's LIst request and in arriving and delivering a quote. I had the paint a two floor stairwell, upstairs hall, and three bedrooms plus all the baseboards downstairs for the price (including paint) . The crew that arrived very promptly was very neat, made sure they didn't get any paint on the existing carpeting and moved things out of their way with no complaint. It took two full days and they came when they said they would and left when they said they would. Only tiny tiny complaint was a bit of ragged edge at the ceiling line but at that - it's a million times better than what I did painting myself! Very happy and would use them again.

The person who came to work for us was amazing. The work he did was great. His work earns him a very good name. Their prices are reasonable. He is also very responsive. I would use their services in the future also.

They did excellent work. They arrived on time, did good work and cleaned up afterward. There were no problems at all. They do not do wallpaper work.

His name was Tom Hart and we had a good experience with him. He was reliable and he did a good job. His people were polite. He was a personal referral. He does a very quality job and he is reasonable.

I found them on Angie?s List. The job was completed last week. I got two estimates and I didn?t go with the other company because their estimate was almost twice as much as Hart?s. The estimate given by Hart?s was $1800 and the other company?s quote was $3500. Their rate was extremely reasonable and it was nearly half of what another highly rated company on Angie?s List offered. The only drawback was that they told me that I would be in a queue once I accepted and paid them a down payment. They said that it might be three weeks before they could start on my house. They did it in steps. They had somebody come and prep. One of the soffits on my house was damaged and part of their estimate involved repairing that. It was all within $1800. Their prep work involved removing the old paint off, fixing the soffits and doing some other minor things. They did everything and then I went down and looked at it when they were still working on it. It now looks beautiful and they did a great job. The only thing was that it took about four weeks to get it done after I agreed to get it done. They were excellent. There really wasn?t any issue with their responsiveness. They called me and told me when they expected it to be finished. I wasn?t here at that time, but I showed up the day before they said they would finish it. So, I could watch them finish it. I would definitely use their services again. I also noticed that they had pressure washed my sidewalk and it was not a part of their job.

After reading many positive reviews of Hart's painting, we selected them for our exterior painting job. The price seemed reasonable, and in retrospect they did quite a bit of work for what we paid. We were put on a 5-week waiting list, which was not a problem since we had to go through the HOA approval process first. Once we got approval, Tom scheduled the power washing. Within a week the job was complete. The painters were very professional. My wife and I are very detail oriented, and discovered a handful of places requiring touch-up after the painting was completed. Before we had a chance to say anything, the painter had fixed every one of the spots on his final walk around the house. While it's nice to work with a painter that readily fixes problems that a customer identifies, it's even better to work with a painter that does it right without having to nag! Our experience with Hart's painting was certainly the latter. The house looks great, and we would use Hart's painting again.

Everything was done as per the detailed estimate. Mr. Hart helped us to choose appropriate paint, colors and finishes based on his experience painting Florida homes. He came out the week before the job to prep the surfaces to be painted. He also arranged for pressure cleaning of our house at the beginning of the week, then sent his assistant out a couple of days later to cover windows and do some more prep. The next day, Mr. Hart and his assistant completed the job. Overall, we were very pleased with the result. The house looks beautiful and the team did a fantastic job of cleaning up and being careful of our landscaping. There were a couple of issues, though. We have louvered shutters on all of the exterior windows and were surprised to learn that the painter was not planning to remove them before painting the house (the shutters themselves were to be painted a different color from the house). I guess we neglected to discuss this when getting the original estimate but we just expected that it would be done. When we brought this to Mr. Hart's attention, he readily agreed to remove, paint and replace the shutters at no additional cost. Also, a few days after the job was completed, we discovered that one of our exterior wall-mounted lighting fixtures had been damaged, apparently while it was being painted since it was in good condition before the job was started. The top and the base became separated somehow. We're in the process of seeing what is involved in getting it repaired, if it's even possible to fix. The broken fixture is one of four matching custom light fixtures and finding one just like it is unlikely so we might have to replace all four.

Tom arrived punctually at our home for the initial estimate, which encompassed the whole house. We ultimately decided to have only the kitchen and family room done at this time so as to minimize disruption of the home. When they arrived to strip the wallpaper, they identified that the painting job done by the popcorn removal company was sub-par and, for an additional charge, painted the ceiling. The second and third days encompassed painting of the walls. There was a confusion over which color placement initially, but this issue was quickly identified and professionally and quickly resolved. Understanding that everyone makes mistakes, we were extremely impressed with the way this issue was handled. (If only that were the case for EVERY contractor we used...) We are very happy with the final result, and are looking forward to hiring them in the future for the remainder of the house.

From start to finish, Tom was professional, punctual and priced right. The pressure washing team took great care to do a great job while protecting my rather lush garden. Then the prep work began and they did a thorough check - repairing cracks and caulking where necessary. Finally the paint went on, and as I walk around the house today, I'm so pleased with the fantastic job they did. There was one glitch and it was my fault. After the front of the house was painted, I hated the color! Tom took this in stride, consulted with us on replacing the color and finished the job the next day. Now it looks beautiful. As a result of this experience, I would recommend testing your color choices on a section of the house before purchasing all the paint. I enthusiastically recommend Hart Painting.

I hired Tom Hart based on his Angie's List ratings. He has excellent reviews and was very busy when I called, but he made time to come out and see my place promptly. My original thought was just to touch up certain areas where the paint had worn, but after he told me his rates, which were very reasonable, I decided to have him paint the entire house. Due to his job load, he told me up front it might be a few weeks before he could get to me. In the mean time, he showed me areas that needed repair before painting (which he does not do), but he recommended an excellent handyman - Doug Blackmon - who I hired on Tom's recommendation. Doug was also excellent and did great work preparing areas where wood need replacing prior to painting. Doug was so good, in fact, that I hired him to do other work around my house. A few weeks later Tom called to schedule work on my house, and the job was completed a week later. This included one day to pressure cleane which he hired out, and two days to paint which he and his helper did. Some would say that house painting is not fine art, but I am so pleased with the job Tom Hart did for me that I'm sure I'll get many more years of enjoyment from his work than I'd ever get from the Mona Lisa (and I used to own an art gallery).

Excellent overall all work. The attention to detail for is outstanding. Tom was always punctual and professional from time of his estimate to completion of each job. The first job I asked Tom to paint the vaulted wood plank and rafter ceiling in my living room ($500 including paint) to check out his workmanship. I used Benjamin Moore paint rather than the Sherwin Williams paint Tom normally uses. I used this brand in previous places I lived. It is expensive both it is worth it in my opinion. Tom had no problem using another paint brand since his estimates does not include the cost of the paint, only the amount of gallons the project should use. Tom and his paint assistant, Pedro, did the task. Pedro caulked all the plank seams as prep work. I used Decorator White semi-gloss paint. The job took less than a day and the results were excellent. The interior paint job included both walls and ceilings for the living, dining, and kitchen rooms, 3 bedrooms, and 2 small baths. Tom did the work in 4 days. He started out with a crew of 4 painters the first day, then 2 painters the next two days. Pedro finished up the project the last day. Pedro did excellent "cut" work as well as caulking prep work. They were very neat and cleaned up thoroughly. I honestly couldn't find any faults in their painting. Tom left the job after the first day (he had 15 new clients call him), but his paint crew were quite capable of doing the work unsupervised. They were always punctual and professional. The exterior paint job was delayed several weeks due to Tom's understandably full work schedule. However, I was in no hurry and willing to wait for Tom to fit me into his schedule. He called me with a schedule for 1-week of prep work on the house and immediately followed with a 1-week paint effort. The pressure wash crew showed up first and did an excellent wash job of the exterior of the house including the sidewalks, driveway, and patio/pool area. Tom showed up 2 days later and started the prep work on the house. Another paint assistant, Roy, showed up the next day and completed the prep work by Thursday. The following Monday, Roy and Pedro showed up to start the painting. Again, Pedro did excellent cut work under the wood plank and rafters roof eaves/wall running around the house. Roy also did excellent work separately painting the aluminum screen vents between each beam under the roof eave. Roy and Tom finished the painting on the fourth day,Thursday, a day earlier than estimated. The crew was punctual, neat, and professional in their work. FYI, I used Benjamin Moore exterior paint. The house is ranch style, cinder and stucco and built in 1942 with some interesting relief trim work. I painted the house a two-tone color (one color for the roof and another color for the trim.relief areas). I would definitely hire Tom and his work crew again. One final note, Tom's reputation precedes him. He noted he had 28 jobs waiting in the queue and all willing to wait for him.

They were very good and left the place clean. They used good quality paint and were punctual for the job. They left the place as it was, when they came. I will continue to use their services in future.
