Absolute A/C & Duct Repairs

This is a follow up to my prior review when I described the initial evaluation and inspection. Absolute came back and did all the work recommended. Yet again, the company demonstrated excellent professionalism. They showed up on time, were respectful of the property, completed all the work stated in the given time frame, and came in on budget. Dealing with Aileen was a pleasure from beginning to end. I will be using this company again in the future when I need to rezone after my home reno, and when I need to replace my units.

Scheduling was easy with Raquel. I had to reschedule the appointment last minute, which they did no problem and I appreciate.The service went great, technician arrived on time, early even. Reminded me about my FPL Certificate as well. Cost was exactly as quoted. Recommend. I had to ask, but they take payment in cash, check or credit (+3.5% service charge) after services are rendered. Thank you!!

It was fine, I think they were a little late but it was no big deal. They tried to charge me a lot of money for insulation but I told them I would think about it.

It went very well. Their team came early, were very well prepared, were very neat and careful, and did a wonderful job. They had to cut a hole in closet ceiling in order to add insulation to the bedroom. The remaining insulation could be added from original garage access. The bedroom is now cold and the whole house feels great.

They were very thorough. Aileen is great.

Very professional service provided. Personnel was kind enough to notify me about the FPL voucher that I was able to obtain and apply to the insulation cost. Upon completion of the installation, the personnel cleaned up after themselves and allowed me to inspect the work.

In February, I had Absolute Duct come out to investigate why I had little air going into the master bedroom, closets and bath areas. I had been having these issues for some time and my AC guy suggested that I have the ducts checked out. It seems I was losing air to the attic and not getting the correct air flow where needed. In other words, my duct system (which was 30 years old) was falling apart. I contracted with Absolute Duct in June to do the duct replacements and repairs. Leo, who also came out in February, took pictures of the attic, came with his worker on the June 1st and completed the job in two days. They did a magnificent job and now I have the greatest air flow in the whole house. No more hot bedroom. No more losing air to the attic and FPL. i just had Leo return to check a vent because it was making a slight noise which I could only hear at night. He took care of that issue. i just want to say that it was a pleasure working with a reliable and professional company. It was a big job and worth the money. Aileen even gave a discount for Angie's List customers. Every repair service should go as smoothly as this one. I can't say enough about Absolute Duct & AC repair. Thanks so much to Aileen & Leo!

Leo did a fantastic job inspecting the air ducts. I did ask him to check the master bedroom since it is not as cool as the rest of the house. He made a recommendation on re-routing one of the ducts to send more cool air to the master bedroom. I also asked him to replace a bathroom exhaust fan. He came and did the work the week after. He fast, efficient, and clean. The price was well within the range. I strongly recommend him. Great guy.

Pictures were taken of A/C ducts and were in poor condition. Received a documented estimated to review. All the A/C ducts were changed and the A/C box coming out of A/C unit was rebuilt. Apparently I had leaks and through out and not getting top performance out of my A/C. The difference was highly noticeable as to how much better the A/C is now blowing. Filled the attic with insulation. The house it a lot cooler and the A/C runs less. The job was done in one day. Looking forward to savings on my power bill. The service persons were professional and polite. All the garbage was cleaned and removed. Nice Job !

I liked them very much, they did a very good job. They knew what they were talking about, they were proficient, and they didn't try to sell me anything. They did what they were contracted for and they didn't try to push me into anything. If I needed anything, I am sure they would have offered it, but I didn't feel it was pressured or anything.

My excellent review is based on the inspection of my attic's insulation. Fernando came and was very nice and explained what he saw. I am very confident that I received an honest appraisal of the condition of my attic. The only thing I was not happy with was the estimate I got on the removal and replacement of the metal duct system. When I asked how much it would cost I got one estimate and right away I got a second and then a third with a difference of $ 1625.00 more on the last over the first one.

The provider never showed up to perform the paid service.

Aileen was punctual, courteous and warm, very thorough, did not rush through explaining to me the problems and submitted a fair and reasonable proposal to replace (entirely or partially) the entire duct work for that particular A/C. She spent a good deal of time in my attic, inspecting the situation. She supplied photos of the damaged duct work which were verified later by my husband. I couldn't have been more pleased.

This was a big deal purchase. They took a very long time to take care of it. It took two weeks for them to come out after I purchased the big deal. They did okay.

They are wonderful, lovely, responsive and responsible. They carefully evaluated the system and figured out exactly what was wrong and what was not wrong. They were clear, honest and reassuring. They came punctually, did more than was necessary to ensure that the work was done very well. We are very happy and grateful to Angies List for helping us locate such a great company.

If we could give Absolute A/C & Duct Repairs an A++ rating we would! After having our home audited by FPL we were given a list of authorized service providers. After several quotes and promises made by different companies we made the MASSIVE mistake of NOT going with Absolute. This "other" company we chose did such an awful job it wasn't even funny. Not to get into all the details of the "other" companies failures and to keep a very long story short, we received at 100% refund for the "other" company's work. Absolute came in and removed all of the new ducting and started from scratch. The owner wanted to make sure everything was handled right considering what we had recently gone through, and in fact it was the owner who spent two and a half days in our very tight attic. I am confident that now the job now is completed to FPL's standards and is 100% correct and more importantly sealed. We will, without a doubt refer this company to anyone who is in the market for HVAC or duct work repair. They were absolutely a great company to deal with. We have ever since regretted our decision to go with another company at first, but now going forward Absolute will be the only company working on our HVAC system. And something else we'd like to mention, when we called them back to our home they could have easily given us an unprofessional attitude since we decided to hire a different company, but instead they did not. They were extremely professional, they understood our concerns and most importantly made everything right for us. In conclusion, if you're in the market and shopping right now for services they provide then put them on top of the list! DO NOT get caught up in all the free options and false promises, because take it from us.... there's a reason why some companies will throw in a "kitchen sink" with the deal. Absolute doesn't have to, because they do the work they way it is meant to be done and at a fair price for their level of craftsmanship.

after just glancing at the quote I realized that using FPL's free efficiency inspection service would have been a much better choice. It's an unbiased opinion based on energy waste rather then selling a product to tell me truly what needs to be done and for what I need to be shopping..

It went well, but there was no follow up

We had an overall great experience with them when it came to the work and the time it took to complete. Staff was friendly and helpful and very respectful.

Called Absolute AC and got a call back the following day. Talked with Aileen on the phone. She came across as being very nice and helpful. Even talked me out of duct cleaning service because it is the biggest scam in the AC business. Scheduled service a week later. Aileen came and did an inspection of my home. Was told that we need some of the duct to be re routed as well as a junction box of some sort (I am not hip to HVAC lingo) in order to have more efficient flow of AC. We were given two options for this and the option with the best outcome was estimated at $1500. We also needed the AC unit to be flushed. Aileen suggest we add freon to the unit as well at a cost of $125. We told her that we had home appliance insurance that would replace the freon so we would have that done by another company. We just wanted to AC flushed for now. The repair tech showed up late but did flush the AC unit out. When he was done he said that he had replaced the freon as well. We said we did not need that done and that we had even told Aileen about this. Called Aileen and was basically like, well its too late now. It will need to be paid for. Tried to call Aileen twice a few weeks later to get the rest of the work done and never got a call back. I was going to ask her to finish the work and take $125 off to cover for the lack of communication between her and her technician. She must have sensed that and has chosen to just not call back. Total lack of professionalism all around. Will tell everyone I can to never use absolute ac. Like all other businesses on Angie?s list that get a bad review, She will have a rebuttal that will shoot down most of what I say or redirect blame but please that the warning that this is a buyer beware company.
