I have never written a review about a business before. I never feel it is worth the time and, absent exigent circumstances, would never want to disparage a business; particularly one that is family-owned. But, I am so appalled by my recent experience with Fred at Fantastic Windows that I had to share my experience. I had a great experience with Fantastic Windows at first. Fred (co-owner with his wife Joanne,) came to our house, measured our windows, gave some great recommendations and, knowing my wife and I just bought our first home and had a baby on the way, told us it did not matter to him whether we did the whole house at once or a single window at a time. We bought double roller blinds for our master bathroom and cabana door. Fred also contacted the manufacturer of our existing blinds and facilitated a replacement of a broken set. We were very pleased, recommended Fantastic Windows to several people, and planned to use them for all of our blinds for as long as they were in business. This Monday (Jan 22, 2017), I called Fred and told him we were ready to put the same blinds in in three more rooms (5 total windows). When he gave me the quote for one of the rooms (my office; a set of three windows), I asked why the windows were $375 each when the other (much bigger) windows previously installed were $275. He said it was because the windows were longer than the others I previously purchased. I asked if he might have been confusing our living room windows (also a set of 3), which are much longer than the office windows. He became somewhat defensive (and faulted me for his installer forgetting to take the samples he left us with him upon completion) and said he had to call me back after re-measuring. They came out to remeasure. After a few calls to Fantastic Windows (he was tied up with clients; not his fault), Fred returned my call at 4:30 this afternoon (Saturday). He angrily told me that the prices he gave me and that I complained about were no longer available and I should look elsewhere for my blinds. I said that I was disappointed, not because of the prices, but because of Fred’s attitude throughout the whole second transaction. He responded by saying “Oh, you think I have an attitude? We closed at 2:00 and I’m here at 4:30 working on your order. We replaced your broken blind for free and you sat on your order for 5 months and now you are questioning my pricing? Find your blinds somewhere else!” Before I could remind him that we could not afford to do the whole house at first and he was more than fine with us splitting up our order, and reiterate that I just wanted to confirm he was not mixing up our small office windows with our large living room windows, he hung up on me. I have never felt so disrespected by a business and am appalled at the lack of professionalism from Fred. I’m truly disappointed, as I planned to use Fantastic Windows for all of our blinds needs for all of our houses. He has not only lost me as a customer, but all of the people to whom I recommended Fantastic Windows. I would think twice before giving Fantastic Windows your business.

As you state, I went out of my way to provide excellent products, advice and service. A call after 5 months does present a challenge because of the time lapse. I wish I could remember what happened 5 months ago quickly but as you were told your file would have to be reviewed so I could refresh my memory. The prices were no longer valid because of a price increase by the fabricator at the end of the year. As far as the samples, you did not provide your selection so how could an order be placed. Also, your discussion about the uneven construction of your new windows concerned me. I do not believe you will be happy. For these reasons I suggested you go elsewhere. We will not take an order if I am not sure I can satisfy the client. Fred
