Do not rent from them!! Here is a copy of the letter I sent them, which describes in detail my experience with them: October 6, 2012 Nautilus Realty & Management 1405 W. 15th Street, Suite D Panama City, FL 32401 (850) 215-2800 To Whom it May Concern: Per my conversation with Chantal, I received your email on Monday, September 17, 2012 regarding the 60-Day Termination. According to the letter attached to the email, I had until November 8 to clear the premises due to the sale of the house. According to the contractI signed with your company, I would be given a 60-day notice in the case of the sale of the house. I never received the letter in the mail, and I seriously doubt it was ever sent. If it had been, it would have been sent certified and return receipt mail, at least by a professional company. I also now know for a fact that the buyer wanted a closing before November 3. The letter attached to your email stated the date of September 8, with an exit date of November 8. The date I can go by (and the date any court will go by, based on the facts listed above) is the date the email was actually received by me via email, which was September 17, which would mean my lease would be up on November 17. In other words, your company is in breach of contract and per my real estate attorney, I could easily take you to court and the judge could require you to resubmit the 60-day termination (resulting in me staying much longer). He could also require you to pay for my moving expenses, since you broke the contract. Or, I could simply refuse to move before November 17. I also had verbal assurance from your company that the owner had no interest in selling the unit. Very interesting, because now I find out that the condo was already up for sale through December 2011 and the owner did not want to (or could not afford to) make payments with an empty house. It is very obvious now that the owner fully intended on selling the house while I was renting it. If I had known he was going to sell it while I was still in it, I would have never signed the lease. And I?m sure you were very well aware of that. At the very least, this shows unethical behavior on your part. I?m sure your company does not need the bad press and, quite frankly, I?m tired of dealing with your company and the owner and the games both of you have played. In addition to the items listed above, I was supposed to have all parts to put up the storm shutters and nothing was ever done about it, even after I called and made a special effort to come in and speak to you about it. When I moved in (earlier than I had planned, but to accommodate the owner), the spare bathroom was filthy (my mother cleaned it) and obviously no one had ever cleaned above the cupboards or the top of the refrigerator. Several light bulbs were missing from the light fixtures (and, since you informed me about the condo being put up for sale in May, they were never replaced.) I bent over backwards playing the rules-keeping the condo tidy, moving in earlier than anticipated, always paying my bill on time, etc. I made a deposit of $850.00 when I first rented this condo. You may use $461.94 of my deposit money to pay for the time I have left in this condo (through October 16). I fully expect the leftover $388.06 to be sent back to me, as I will leave this place in better condition that it was in when I arrived. Since the closing has now been set for October 19, the power will be turned off on October 18. And I expect there to be no negative marks on my credit report, due to the fiasco that you and the current owner have caused. Sincerely, Deborah S. Rice
