It went great! We have been here 21 year and it was the best contractor we have ever used. It's a family business and they went out of their way to please us. The price was right and it was just unbelievable.
Description of Work: We had them out to do some concrete work for us.

Roots had displaced parts of our conrete driveway. After checking with several other companies (who didn't seem to have a clue or just didn't seem interested) we read about Tom's Quality Concrete on Angie's List. With the prompt return of our call we set a date for them to come by and look at what we had and discuss what could be done. They came on time, gave us options, discussed our concerns, and answered all our questions. We set a date for them to come... there was a slight delay due to the lack of arrival of the dumpster... but once it was delivered they got right to work. They broke up and removed the old concrete to the dumpster, dug out all the roots (big and small), leveled and then poured the concrete. They even brought extra gravel to add so the new would match what was already there! It is not often you see workers work so hard, but they were hard at it all day. By day's end all was finished, the dumpster had been removed, and Tom was spraying off the drive, putting out markers so it would not be driven on until set. He came back the next day to check everything and make sure we were satisfield. We were...totally, and when we eventually replace to whole drive we will definitely call him. If you want professional service and knowledgeable experience we could not recommend any one better!
Description of Work: Roots had displaced parts of our conrete driveway to such an extent we were no longer able to use our circular drive. Tom's Quality Concete workers came and broke up the old concrete. A dumpster was brought in and the old concrete was put into it and hauled off at the end of the day. All the roots were dug out and removed and then replacement concrete was poured.

Through our contractor Carl Curti, we had Tom's Quality Concrete dig, form, and pour a foundation and slab for a 768 s.f. addition to our house. Carl assured us that the cost was fair and that the work would be performed in a timely manner and it was. Tom and his sons and crew were easy to communicate with and did everything they said they would do and more. After the foundation pour, block work, and slab prep, the Bay County Building inspector initially commented that this was "a text book job"! Later he said, "I don't know who you have doing your concrete work for you, but you don't have a thing to worry about, - - these guys really know their business, you just don't see work performed this well anymore." I emailed pictures of the whole job to my friend who was a building supervisor for Arthur Ruttenberg Homes for 20 years and he said that the foundation, block and steel work looked better than many commercial jobs he has witnessed. I am happy to report that the slab also turned out smooth and level as well and they put all the anchor and pro-bolts in the correct places. After both the foundation and slab pour I had several small forms (for stepping pads, etc.) ready in case there was any extra concrete left over and Tom and his crew helped me pour and finish them. They also used their tractor to spread and hand level an extra truckload of dirt in the low places in my yard while they were waiting for the slab to set up. They did not have to do any of this but I surely did appreciate their help! I would not hesitate to hire them for any future concrete jobs.

Description of Work: We submitted a detailed request (picture, elevations, measurements) for an exposed aggregate front porch pad, including demolition of the existing one. This company said that they could do the work and gave us two examples to go see. Some of the work was questionable in quality but they assured us that our job was small and would not have the same issues. They are very nice guys and extremely hard workers. The main portion of the job was completed in a timely manner. We paid them for the total job and they even gave us a $100 discount for their not having to discard of the rubbish. They said that they'd be back to re-mortar a brick that they had to cut off. Later that afternoon we noticed several slight streaks in the concrete. After letting it set for a few days they were still there. We called and Tom said he'd take a look at it when he stopped by to re-mortar the brick. When they stopped by to re-mortar the brick they did not let us know (and we were all at home, possibly in the back yard - ?). The work was POORLY done. I called to ask him if he had seen the brick work and the streaks and to both he would not take responsibility for the quality. The re-mortaring of the brick he passed off as "it's difficult to get the old mortar off the brick without breaking the brick". For the streaks he said "Are you going to seal it? It will probably darken it all up a bit and it might be less noticeable." He also said, "... if you're not, you might want to try a light wash of muriate acid, it might lighten up the streaks." If you are looking for nice guys, these are your guys. If you are looking for a well done completed job, you will probably want to shop around some more.
