We've experienced good service on several occassions with Safety Harbor's Carr Plumbing thanks to their having been contracted by Home Depot for our kitchen remodel. I called them and was given the 'bad news' that we were probably looking at drywall removal to access pipes and that the total $ 'damage' would most likely be $250. I called Koltan, who seemed well-referred through Angie's List and was pleased to have him take the time not only to discuss what he felt was most likely the repair strategy this job would require but to have him confirm this after having me send a text-picture of the hot-water connection in queston. He was quoting $275 but whereas Carr had no further discounts (& not knowing Carr had estimated $250), but gave an Angie's discount that brought the total to the same $250. I then called one final plumber on Angie's who had a 'coupon special' ($119 or $200 worth of plumbing) who was evasive about whether the job might not run 'as high as $350.' and who tried to undermine getting a bid over the phone (i had, by this time, gotten two). This fellow said they would require $49 to come estimate the job and only if we agreed to use them would that $49 be put toward the total. Anything over the initial '$200 worth of plumbing' would be added on top of the $119. Do the math: IF they got out here and extorted $49 only to say the job would cost $350 I would have paid $119 + $150, or $269 total. I was pleased to reach Zoltan after returning home at 5:20 p.m. ('after hours') and have him say that not only could they fit the work in today (there was no urgency, but face it, eventually you want to do a load off laundry involving hot water w/o fear of flooding your laundry room), if he got here and found the job would involve costs EXCEEDING $250 his estimate would act as a 'free' quote so that we could ostensibly hire Carr or another plumber instead. With my husband grousing about why we didn't go with a plumber whose services we knew to be reliable 'for the same exact money' (& my reassuring him that my gut told me we would, by the next day, know of two such plumbers), I contracted for Zoltan to come at 8 a.m. today. The fellows showed up on the dot, quickly assessed the problem to be that which we'd discussed over the phone, brought nearly everything inside they would then need (eliminating footprints or our cat, 'Houdini', escaping) and for about two hours proceeded to do the necessary repair. When I balked about replacing the washer's existing rubber hoses (that had modest calcium build-up) with more reliable metal hoses ... thereby insuring the hoses wouldn't be the source of further laundry room flooding...Zoltan offered to either write on the invoice that he'd suggested these even though he preferred to offer them at the exact cost of a new set (which Theo pronounced, from the internet, was another $25). At all times they protected our new tile floors, kept the work area clean and worked cheerfully through to completion. I was asked to inspect the work before the drywall was replaced and allowed, if we'd wanted to sand the wall before repaint, to have the box left off. As a good plumber should, they asked about operation of our rather oddly 'old but new' (having been in storage 12 years) front-load washer so that they could run it and see that the new 'system' was operating soundly. Finally, after I'd paid the above $275, Zoltan assessed and 'bid' two other potential 'future' plumbing call-backs and suggested how we test for leaks the propane gas hose, newly hooked up by us, to a gas-log fireplace. I am pleased with the work performed, with the fellows' courtesy and timeliness, and especially with Zoltan's responsiveness to my concerns without being patronizing. I can now feel better knowing we've not one but two reliable plumbing companies when future plumbing concerns arrise.

Called early in the am. They were here within the hour, did an excellent job, provided information regarding our system. Professional, efficient, excellent customer service. Will definely use this provider again.

I own the condo and have a tenant who lives there and actually met the repairman. My tenant said the repairman was punctual, courteous, and professional. I'll use Mr. Kovacs' company in the future.

Zoltan was awesome!! We never got estimates from anyone else because he came so highly recommended. We were up in Ohio during the two month remodel. Zoltan was at the house EVERY day and called us several times a week with updates and pictures. He took charge of the entire project and made sure all the subs were right on task. There are always hidden problems/costs with any project ( like having to tile the entire house because the floor couldn't be refinished) and he just took on each item that came along. We are going to do a kitchen remodel in the future and Zoltan will definitely be our contractor. We were thrilled with his professionalism and his attention to detail and cleanliness. He is an all around honest, caring and outstanding contractor!

Reasons: Mr. Kovacs is a man of character, integrity, and honesty.I am not using those words lightly. His crew is always clean, courteous, and on time.his skills are exemplary and reflect many years of experience. He leaves no work undone or less than completed at a high standard. I had read a story about Zoltan Kovacs in teh East Lake Neighborhood news paper, and when ready t remodel, I invited him to submit a proposal based on the coments from his many satisfied customers. To call Zoltan and his crew fussy would be a huge understatement. Zoltan was on top of nearly every detail, whether he did it or one of his workers. Job was done with the highest quality, and was finished in about a week. Zoltan was there nearly every day, and when he wasn't, he would call that night to make sure that we were satisfied with the way work was progressing The work included - replacing a Vanity - a new toilet - installing a new tub - tilework around the tub, some limited tilework on the floor - Removing and replacing a large mirror with a smaller one - New shelving - New hoses for our Washing Machine - replacing a valve under a set tub - installing a couple of safety grab bars in our larger bathroom I list all of these things because I want everyone to know that it was NOT a small job. He wrote out a proposal, and stuck to his estimate, except for recommending a higher quality tub Needless to say, I am very please by his work. I marked down a little on price, but, I really have nothing to compare it to; besides this, I consider it money well-spent I highly recommend Zoltan for any type of Bathroom remodel that you are planning to do, you won't be sorry

It went so well. We just purchased our new home and one bathroom had a toilet room that also had a bidet. We wanted the bidet removed and replaced with a vanity sink. The second bathroom was our guest/pool bathroom that had a pedestal sink and we wanted a 48" vanity sink installed.. We also added a last minute toilet replacement too! We needed a little guidance with the vanities. We went to a local supplier that Zoltan recommended and considered building a vanity locally but in the end we really loved the ones we found online which are essentially pottery barn look alikes and Zoltan was open to working with whatever worked for us. I had other contractors come out for the job but went with Zoltan because he was so confident he could do the job with minimal damage to the tile and his estimates were very fair. The vanity installs were perfect. We decided to get the vanities online and Zoltan did an awesome job with perfect placement of all the plumbing. Another contractor told us he would have to jackhammer out the bidet area and we would need 10 tiles which was a problem as we only had 2 replacement tiles and could not match the tiles very well. Zoltan told us he could do the work and only needed 2 tiles and he absolutely did it! The subfloor work, plumbing and tile finishing was outstanding and much better than I imagined after the earlier contractors told me how many tiles would be needed. The drywall repair, wall texturing, painting and finishing caulk/backsplash work was superb. I would absolutely recommend Zoltan Kovacs plumbing to anyone and he is the first person I will call with any plumbing, kitchen or bathroom remodels in the future. Highly recommended! They were prompt, professional and courteous. The work was significantly more than I expected and I got a second opinion from another local plumbing company on Angie's List and had the work done for less than half what Mr. Kovacs quoted. The second plumber was not aware of the original quote or amount.

We were expecting house guests and Mr Kovacs kindly came immediately to repair the leakage. After spending time doing all that work, he and his assistant then thoroughly sorted out my water-softener as well, which had not been working properly for a very long time. He was extremely efficient and courteous and his prices were excellent. We now know to call Mr Kovacs in future for all our plumbing requirements. We cannot praise him highly enough.

Mr. Kovacs was always on time, very professional, work was exemplary, he explained what he was doing, and when done, left the bathroom so spotless I could have used it for an operating room. Also, prior to our faucet purchase he also advised by telephone on which faucets were of good quality, and what to look for. He was very accessible by phone, and if we did have to leave a message, he got back to us quickly. It has been about 2 months, and the faucets work perfectly, no leaks.

He did not bid on the job we had

Mr. Kovacs assessed our shower problem accurately. He offered solutions. We agreed on a plan and a price. We moved out of the bedroom so that the project could proceed. As we began the demolition, I spoke of my remaining concern. (The walk-in closet was accessed through the bathroom; it was never totally free of humidity). Mr. Kovacs listened well and proposed changing the closet's entrance to another wall. This design change allowed us to expand the shower into a 4'x 8' x 8' masterpiece. Mr. Kovacs and his coworker were meticulous in their preparation and execution of the renovation. They worked steadily and methodically. They arrived early and left each day when they had completely cleaned up their work area. Periodically when I was on site Mr. Kovacs posed questions. But when my family and I left for Georgia, we were limited to electronic communication. He used the texting and photographing capabilities of his I Pod to keep me well informed. Noteworthy are two facts. First, the sub contractors he dealt with (the tiler and the glass installer) clearly admired him for his integrity, honesty and skill. Quickly they fit his job into their busy calendars. Secondly, I gave him a key to our home for use during the two week process. I never questioned that decision; Mr. Kovacs took care of our house as if it were his own.

Zoltan answered my phone call immediately and had Theo out within a few hours. Theo was very professional and completed the job with competence. Zoltan made a followup phone call to check on the work and apologized for not being there himself. I will recommend his services to everyone I know in the area and will contact him when it's time to remodel my master bath.

The work was done the same day that I called. I received good advice on choosing a style. The work was very professional. They always leave the work area clean and remove all old fixtures for disposal.

I recently hired Zoltan Kovacs to do a rebuild on my master bath shower stall. Zoltan and his entire crew were the cleanest, considerate, and most knowledgable craftsmen I have ever hired. They were respectful of me, my time, and my home. Their attention to detail was incredible. To say that they are true craftsmen does not do them justice. They are artists in their field. You would be pleasantly pleased to hire such a professional crew. All work was started on time and finished on schedule. They always showed up exactly on time. I would give them the highest rating possible for professional knowledgable craftsmen!

I contacted Zoltan Kovac's Plumbing after reading all the great reviews on Angie's list. Zoltan promptly returned my phone call and provided me with an estimate over the phone. An appointment to replace the garbage disposal was scheduled within the week. Zoltan called the day before to confirm the appointment. He promptly showed up for the appointment, along with an assistant. He took the time to explain the process to repair the garbage disposal and I was pleasantly surprised when he informed me that he would not have to replace my sink drains because they were still in excellent condition, resulting in a cost reduction from the original cost that I had been quoted. Both Zoltan and his assistant were friendly and professional and I was very pleased with their service. I would not hesitate to use Zoltan Plumbing again and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a quality plumber.

They showed up during the appointments. They did what they said they were going to do. They got us a quote. They were thorough, professional and polite. They delivered the quote and everything on time. We are actually considering hiring him for one of the jobs.

My wife's mother had lived with us for over 3 years, so the tub never got used. She passed away late Tuesday night. When cleaning out the bathroom she'd used, we discovered there was no hot water coming out of the tub valve. We were in the throws of trying to get the house converted from the "nursing home" it had been back into our home, in preparation for the onslaught of family about to descend on us for the funeral. As we live in the Highland Lakes community of Palm Harbor, we seen ads for Zoltan Kovacs Plumbing Inc.,so we were pleased to see they had an "A" rating when checking Angie's List. We called Zoltan at approximately 10am in the morning, explained the situation, and he and Theo were at our door by noon. By 1pm, the work was done!!! Not only did they perform an efficient and cost-effective repair. they were extremely professional and friendly. They used drop clothes in the work area to protect the tub and floor, and cleaned & polished the faucet and dried the tub when done. At a time of being over-whelmed by grief and all the duties it takes to orchestrate the funeral of a loved one, Zoltan and Theo's spectacular response and service assisted us greatly. I would recommend them highly to anyone in need of plumbing or remodeling services. They will definitely be our first call should we need those services in the future.

Zoltan was prompt in coming to our home to give me an estimate and advice on what to look for and purchase for my small re-do. He and his assistant had to make more than one trip out to complete the job, as I had ordered independently the stone countertop and Zoltan had to work around their install process. He was always prompt, if he was going to be a little late, he of course phoned to update me. He was immaculate, no dust, or debris left anywhere. I would highly recommend Zoltan for any bathroom, kitchen remodels, or plumbing work that is needed.

Zoltan and his crew completely re-did my master suite shower stall from the ugly,builder's-grade plastic shower pan and poorly set cheap tiling back in 2011.I obtained 3 estimates for this work:stipulating that I only needed the shower stall updated----as the remainder of the master bath had already been done years prior due to lousy workmanship from the homebuilder & their subs.(another story altogether!!) Zoltan's proposal was not the cheapest:but his work ethic,attention to detail,confidence and advice prompted me to choose his company for the work.I have submitted prior review for his work----and ALL of the crew were amazing.All extremely conscientious,hardworking,trustworthy and respectful of me-my time and my home.....I cannot say enough! As far as the followup for certain repairs:when things didn't seem to work out the 1st time---Zoltan made a point of coming out personally to do repairs and assess the situation himself. He advised me how to deal with the fixture manufacturer-who carries a lifetime warranty on their parts.This made the process very smooth---and I will add that this manufacturer has also been very easy and pleasant to deal with. Suffice it to say that any future work---whether it is repair-----remodeling,in this townhome or in any future housing:I will always contact Zoltan for the job!!! He is a man of principle,pride in workmanship and stands behind all work his name is associated with.
