Description of Work: They installed 13 impact windows. Installation was done in 2 days. What a difference! Unfortunately, they did not tell us that the energy audit by our electric company had to be done BEFORE the installation. As a result we lost our eligibility for the $250 Duke Energy rebate. Other than that error we would recommend this company highly.

Description of Work: Jack gave an estimate and spent a lot of time looking at different options. However, the type of windows that he suggested would not work for me. He said new windows and prices were about to be available and asked me to wait until he return from his trip to see what was available. I agree to wait as he appeared to want my business. He promised to get back to me by April 10th at the latest, 2 weeks after he came for the estimate. I never heard from him again which set me back 2 weeks in getting my windows. I have now hired someone else for the job. JACK, DON'T MAKE PROMISES YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF KEEPING, TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. But I believe in giving credit where its due, he is great at tooting his own horn about how professional he is......right...

Description of Work: I spoke to a representative who stated he would come to the home, determine an estimated cost and call us within a few days. He stated we did not need to be home. After several days had past I called the office. The young lady who answered could not find any information on my previous conversation so said she would have one of the owners call me back. He did several hours later but also could not determine who made the original call. He offered to set up another time to come by but my son who owns the home was unavailable. The man stated he would call the next day which was fine...he never did.

+ -1 moreGot several estimates from window replacement companies. One company I contacted came recommended from a neighbor, they would not give me an estimate unless both my husband and I were home. I declined, as I felt this was a sure sign of high pressure sales tactics. (I later found out they had charged almost double for approximately the same job done on a similar house.) Jack came out to give me the estimate and was thorough and professional. His confidence both in the quality of the windows he installs and his installation staff was clearly evident. The estimate was right in the middle of the others we received, and we decided to go with The Window Depot. One of my main concerns was making sure we not only installed energy efficient windows, but maintained the integrity of the aesthetics of our house, which required the windows match the existing style and color. Not only were they able to match the existing cottage style of the windows, they took a paint sample and did an exact match to the existing color. The manufacturer sent a finished sample to ensure we were happy with the color prior to manufacturing our windows. Additionally, one of the reasons we decided to move forward with this rather costly replacement was that several of the wooden window frames were rotted and we were very concerned about water getting into the house thru the frames. Although the window frame was not part of the standard window replacement, Jack committed to fixing this problem as part of the job. Jack's installation crew lived up to the confidence he showed in them, arriving on time each day and being meticulous with every facet of the install, including clean up. I had thought the process would create a big mess and take at least a week. They finished in 2 1/2 days, and the only thing I had left to clean up was the mess I found under my daughter's bed when they moved it ! Lastly, Jack explained in detail everything I would need to collect both the $350 rebate from my electric company, as well as the $1500 Tax Credit we would be eligible for, including showing me where and how to get the necessary forms. This experience was much more pleasant than I had anticipated, and I would highly recommend Jack and the Window Depot to anyone needing new or replacement windows.
