All work except for a minor issue was completed at the end of July 2016, with the remaining issue to be completed in August 2016. There were multiple periods of weeks or months where there was no work done, and I had to keep calling to find out when they would be back out, and the dates I was given were usually not kept. Each time a payment was made, there would be no work done for at least 2 weeks. Multiple promises were made for deadlines for completion of this job, and all were missed: October 2015, January 2016, February 2016, April 2016, June 2016. I paid for the windows in full up front in May 2015, and work was not started until June 2016 (and completed July 2016). For this inconvenience, in May 2016, RJ Sadler Construction offered to waive the labor charge for the windows totaling $1250.00, but after the work was completed, reneged on that promise, and the labor charge was paid just to end this ordeal. The promise of not having to pay for labor in May 2016 was the sole reason I continued with this contractor and did not demand a full refund of the $7379 paid to them in May 2015. The conversion of the carport was not started until late December 2015, and the new external walls were added in January 2016, the internal walls were removed in February 2016, and the room not completed until May 2016. During much this time, there were exposed wires, and sharp wood and nails protruding from the walls. We were also without furniture for a few weeks while this was finished, as it had been moved to a portable storage unit on the front lawn to protect it from debris. Once the internal walls were removed, corrugated plastic sheeting was installed over the window openings until such time that the windows were to be installed, which was from February 2016 until July 2016. Installation of central air conditioning was relatively timely, being completed in June 2015. Other verbal promises made multiple times that were not fulfilled included decommissioning an out-of-use septic tank, and removal of broken concrete debris from my back yard. Especially toward the end of work, RJ Sadler construction reminded me frequently that they were breaking even financially on my job because they went above and beyond and did more work than they estimated for, but for some reason did not update the estimate, which I would most likely have been fine paying for. This was the reason given for having reneged on the promise to waive the labor charge of $1250.00 for installing the windows.
Description of Work: I entered into a contract with RJ Sadler Construction in April of 2015 to perform work on my then-860 square-foot home: to install central air conditioning, to replace all 10 windows, and to convert a 140 square-foot carport with existing roof and foundation into indoor space.

RJ Sadler Construction wasn't prepared to honor the kitchen work for the timeframe discussed and was only completed with many phone calls and rescheduling. The exterior work was never started or completed and no money refunded.
Description of Work: The contract with Rich Sadler involved some repair of kitchen counter approximately $931.00 and exterior work for the remainder of the $4,500.00. The exterior work could be done at his convenience, scheduled a week for the kitchen work about a month in advance and put down $2,000.00.
