+ 1 moreCan not say enough good things about this company. From the beginning to the end of this big project, Kelby was simply fantastic. Professional, talented, accommodating, friendly and fun to work with. He took my rough vision, and created a beautiful design. The video he developed let me envision exactly what the landscaping; pavers; new trees, retaining wall and new lawn would look like. And the end product looked exactly like the design. This company is obviously very well led. They overlook nothing and ensure complete customer satisfaction. One sign of a truly great company is the sub-contractor they work with. The owner Mike, clearly works with nobody but the best. From the guy who tore up the driveway and made paths for the pavers, to the guys who installed the pavers and the retaining wall, to the guys who installed the sprinkler system and the new sod -- they seriously could not have been better. You can tell real professionals who take pride in their work, and it is clear that Mike hires no one but the best. This was a big project. Every step of the way, I felt I was working with the best of the best, and their work and the final outcome validates that.

+ -1 moreI cannot say enough good things about Moe and her crew. Moe was great to work with. Her initial design made it easy to envision the final result, and we could not be happier with the results. Moe was always available to answer any questions or concerns I had, and always kept me updated on the project so that I never was wondering or guessing on how the progress was going. She is awesome at what she does, and it shows in the final results. She was present on the day of planting and worked along with her crew to make sure everything went according to her design. Her crew was great also. They left the work site clean at the end of the project, and were always friendly and courteous to us. I cannot stress enough how happy we are with the final result of the yard. It was amazing to see the concept on paper, and then to see it brought to life by Moe and her crew. The final result is leaps and bounds better than anything I could have envisioned before the project got underway. Now it's time to start building up the funds so we can have Moe come back and work on pavers and lighting!
Description of Work: Provided design plan for front courtyard entrance by front door of my house. Removed existing plantings and installed new plants, shrubs, palm tree, rocks, gravel and mulch.

Description of Work: Lawn mowing, pest control, hedge clipping, weed-eating, sprinkler maintenance. Our HOA uses them for 33 units. They took up and put down sod. Very lumpy in places. Many brown spots in various yards. Maintenance afterwards was not done properly to make the sod lush and green.

+ -1 moreMo was nice but provided a plan for the front yard that was 3 times the cost I told her I could afford. When we finally agreed on a price, they began work. While I understand sometimes sprinklers are broken, the crew was very unprofessional and I had to requst that one of the gentleman not return to my home. The additional cost to repair the sprinklers was $300. 00, so if you use them, plan on this cost also. This crew did not even attempt to remove the tree roots with anything other than a shovel until I complained to Mike about it. I had to have a stump remover come and edge the garden so they could place stones. Something they did not tell me upfront either. I specifically requested "deer tolerant" plants, as we have a gang of deer that roam our neighboorhood. I am not a gardener, so I had to trust Mo and her team. They planted leriothrope (sp) which the deer have now munched to the ground. When I called them to say some of my plants had died, they came and looked stating I needed fertilizer. I paid them $100 to fertilize and they still did not replace the bad plants as is in their agreement for up to 1 year post planting. They did not replace the bird of paradise nor the flowering yellow plants that died, nor the leriothrope. I am now having another landscapper give me an estimate to clean up the front landscapping and plant the correct plants who is much more reasonable. Their retail nursey is beautiful though.

Description of Work: Mike had a team create a small patio with pavers in April 2011. He was used leftover pavers from another job to keep the price down. The initial work was done timely and to my satisfaction. About a year later I noticed the grout/cement that is between the pavers was coming out in places. Now, about a year and half later, I noticed that the group/cement has come out in numerous places, leaving the patio looking poorly. I went in in person to talk to Mike, who was not there. Left message with staff about the problem and was told Mike would get back to me. A week later, another trip into the store and another message left for Mike. Eventually was told Mike said "that is normal" in response to the grout coming out and that if wanted, Mike would provide me with cement to repair the areas myself. Went to shop to pick up cement. When Mike was called to give me instructions as to how to use this cement, he was mad that I arrived a day late to pick up cement. I could hear him thru the phone yelling at his employee about me. Left with a bucket of dry cement and instructions as to how to use. Got home and began to put cement into cracks and sweep away the cement on the pavers. What a mess. If I keep on doing this myself I will not do as good a job as the professionals, and my patio will look horrible. Why am I having to do this myself when there are people on Mike's staff who know how to do this efficiently and effectively? What poor customer service to tell a customer to fix the problem herself. What kind of "stand by your work" policy is it when you tell a customer that problems with grout are "normal" and then hand her a bucket of cement. I have been a customer of Mike's for over 7 years, using his company to do a major landscape job in the front of the house, put in a waterfall in the back and then this patio in the back. I have been a great customer, paid on time and in full, friendly and cooperative and respectful to his work crews. None of that mattered to Mike as he complained that I picked up my cement a day late and never offered his services to repair the work he had done. will never recommend him or use him again.

+ -1 moreThe Earthscape team was very friendly and professional and easy to work with and the prices on their proposal appeared very reasonable. I did not go with them because the person I hired to create a professional landscape plan recommended another landscaper, but I was impressed with this company the most of any that I talked to about our landscape project and had we not chosen to go with a professional landscape planner, I am certain we would have used Earthscapes.

Description of Work: I called to have them come to my home and take measuremets for the replacement of my landscape curbing and my patio garden wall, I was told that they don't give free estimates and tried to charge me $45.00 to come out. When did contractors start charging to give you an estimate to get your work????

+ -1 moreMo was very nice and helped me design a gorgeous flower bed. she never made me feel bad that I had so many requests and opinions. we did a lot of the work ourselves and she was fine with that. I requested plants that they didn't have and they tried to get them but couldn't and let me fill in those holes myself if I wanted to, and offered other plants if I wanted them to do it. I wasn't thrilled with how they planted the plants. being a gardener myself, I'm used to loosening the root ball and making the hole bigger than the plant to be placed in it, and watering the hole before placing the plant, and probably 5 other things that I have learned from basic gardening books...nothing fancy, just the way people are taught to plant. They didn't do any of that, just put them in the ground and left. But I'm not going to complain because my lawn guy also does landscaping and he thought the job was well done and said that nobody in florida does things the way I have read it should be done. So if nobody else does, maybe it doesn't matter and regardless there isn't a better company so why score them lowly. Just thought people should know in case it is important to them, in which case, I guess you can get design help from them and plant them all yourself. Their prices were excellent and they did not "penny and dime" me. they charged a flat rate for the design, that Mo took the time to work with all my changes. And then the flat rate is deducted off the work that is done later, so really it is Free! The only cost for the design is the $45 consult fee. And there is a discount on the plants if you go this route, plus free delivery. I thought that the plant prices would be high but I checked several places around here and they were very comparable, unless you compare them to Ace Hardware. but the benefits outweighed the couple of bucks I could have saved looking for deals. I was very happy with the overall experience and would use them again!

+ -1 moreWe really liked the plan at first. However, we noticed after planting that deer were eating two of the plant types specified (totaling over 60 individual plants). Liriope and Pittosporum are both rated high as likely to be eaten by deer. This was confirmed by other nurseries and by searching the internet. We contacted Earthscape?s and requested that they provide us a different type of replacement plant at no cost (we would do the planting ourselves) or refund the cost of the landscape design. Their responsiveness to our request was poor. Several times we were told that we would be called back and did not receive a return phone call. We asked to speak with a manager and were told there is no ?manager?. We were repeatedly told that Earthscape?s cannot control what deer eat. Approximately one month after our initial phone call, Earthscape?s only offer was to provide us a different type of replacement plant(s) at cost. Thus, we would be writing them a check to replacement plants that should have never been included in the landscape design. It does not seem fair to me that we should have to write another check to pay for replacement plants. It was immediately evident to other nurseries that Liriope and Pittosporum are not good choices for Lansbrook due to deer and our house backing to a preserve. I believe the Earthscape?s designer demonstrated poor judgment in suggesting Liriope and Pittosporum given our community and specific lot location. I am disappointed in Earthscape?s decision and will not do business with them in the future.
Description of Work: We hired Earthscape’s to design a full landscape plan for our house in Lansbrook. Being new to Florida, we decided to pay for a professional landscape plan as we were unfamiliar with the best plant choices given our community, house orientation and lot location. A representative from Earthscape’s visited the home, took pictures, etc, and created a design.

+ -1 moreUnbelievably well! After Mo took pictures of my house, and came up with plan, I went to the office on Friday. I added some plants which Mo was happy to change for me. They came out first thing Monday morning to take out the sod, Tuesday they brought the rock and shell gravel and designed the path. Wednesday they planted all of the trees and plants and added the mulch. Everyone involved in the project was excellent. Mo kept showing up to make sure that the work crew were planting to her specifications. The workers that planted were so hard working, and good, nice people to work with. I will absolutely continue to use them to finish the rest of my house. Everyone from start to finish was a pleasure to work with!
Description of Work: I wanted new landscaping around my home, for privacy and curb appeal. First they came out to give me ideas, but I wanted the more involved drawing which I paid extra for, but they said it would be taken off of future work. The plans that Mo came up with were absolutely beautiful. I went ahead with 1/2 of the plan because I didn't have enough money to do it all, and they were happy to do that for me.

Description of Work: Earthscapes is the only landscaper that charged me to come out for an estimate. The office staff was very pleasant and helpful although the estimator only spent about 7 minutes here and acted like this was to small of a job. He came up with a very simple/boring plan. When I called to ask about a drawing, I was told there would be an additional charge. I did not want a detailed plan just an idea of what he was thinking. I don't get much when the estimate just states how many plants and landscape pavers but gives no idea of layout.I had seen other jobs that Earthscape had done as well as the shop on Alt. 19 and was very disappointed in their lack of interest in doing my smaller project. I found another landscaper to do the job that did it with a variety of plants, so that there is color all year long and spent a lot of time with me beautifying my backyard.

Description of Work: A complete landscaping plan was drawn up based upon our needs. Mike and his team renovated our entire backyard by removing old plantings and tired mulch. They planted various palm trees that help disguise ugly power lines. Instead of typical bedding edging, Mike created a meandering path that we enjoy immensely. They solved our drainage and irrigation issues.

Description of Work: Maureen Bean submitted a landscape plan for our home, choosing drought and deer-resistant species as per our request. They incorporated some existing palms, planted another, added shrubbery, and new flower beds. Earthscapes installed the plantings, arranged for fertilization, and gave specific instructions about caring for the landscape.
