Bill was very punctual in returning my call and providing an estimate. We requested that the estimate be done by room to provide us flexibility to break the project into separate aspects. Bill was prompt to provide the estimate. We moved forward with the formal living and dining area. They completed the task in the expected number of days. The quality and clean up were great. Dean is strong in attention to detail and committed to doing a quality job. We then contracted for the family room, hall and dinette areas. We began removal of the wallpaper in the hall and asked them complete the task and resurface and paint the walls. Bill was quick to provide an additional estimate for the work. The second job took five days to complete. The quality of the work is great!
Description of Work: The scope of the job was to remove popcorn ceiling in formal living room, dining room, family room, dinette and hall. We expanded the job to completion of removal of wallpaper and resurfacing walls and interior painting. The duration of the both jobs was 7 days.

I have given up on trying to contact Bill Livingston / Northeast Construction after two messages left asking for a callback on a drywall repair project. I left a message on or around June 22nd with my name, contact number and description of the project. After one week of no response, I called and requested contact a second time. I expect a return call even if the contractor has no time to take on my project.

Bill was great. He was on time when he came for the estimate & had the best pricing of all the people I spoke with. He is very punctual, professional, friendly & does great work. I'd definitely hire him again!
Description of Work: The dryer vent in our laundry room goes up through the roof as opposed to out to the side wall. It became clogged & moisture was dripping back down since it couldn't escape through the vent on the roof. That moisture caused a big water stain where the ceiling meets the wall (where the vent runs up) & it started to peel & bubble. Bill & his partner Dean cut out the affected piece, replaced it, resealed everything & it looks great.

They cleaned everything and took everything away. They were on the stilts; and they scrapped and that was a messy wet heavy job. They did a great job on clean up. My condo is on the second floor with no elevator. Any contractor doing stuff there would have to haul it all down. They kept good communication with me and did the job in the time frame that they said they would. They gave me the lead time and called; and I needed to come back, get the key and pay them.
Description of Work: I used the services of Bill Livingston/Northeast Construction and the last time I used them was in November 2011. They removed the popcorn ceiling in my 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo. They fixed up the seams so it all blended and they textured.

Bill is a first class contractor. Pleasant to deal with and forthright in his business practice. Bill has an employee, Dean, who has a great work ethic and a personality to go with it. Between the two, my project went perfectly with no hitches. A few additional items that Bill agreed to do were: Install a folding stairway and stucco the joint between the block walls and the new drywall ceiling. There is a new 3 1/2 inch board on the market that is certified for both ceiling and walls and Bill requested it's use. I preferred the use of a board rated for ceilings and that was the end of that discussion. Bill went on and found the requested ceiling board without a complaint. When the work was done the job site was cleaned. No complaints, no hassle good contractor. Good job to you, Dean.
Description of Work: When dealing with a contractor from Angie's List, I suggest running the discount packages past the A.L. for a full disclosure of there meaning. I suggest requesting a bid that includes the work and products that will be used. After the bid is secured ask for the discounts offered. If the contractor claims that all discounts are included ask how he knows your age for the senior citizen discount. Also, how the coupons offerd by A.L. can be included.

Bill is very professional and wonderful to work with. I have a bathroom that was wallpapered by the builder and did not have texture under the wallpaper. We removed the wallpaper and Bill and Dean(I believe that was his name) came out to do the job. Dean repaired the walls before applying the texture. The walls were so smooth and perfect when he was done that we could have just left them smooth if we wanted to. I was very particular about how I wanted the texture to look, so they did a couple test spots so I could give them feedback. I thought they were all too heavy. Bill advised me that if we went too light I probably would not be happy, and he told me that the texture shrinks a lot when it dries. Against Bill's recommendation, I had them texture the room lightly. When they were done, he told me that if I had any questions I should call him. The next day when the texture was completely dry, I did not like it at all. It did not match my house and looked a bit like paint splatter. I called Bill and left him a message. I did not expect him to call me back because they did exactly as I asked and they were already paid for the job. I was wrong. Bill returned my call in less than 5 minutes. The first thing he said to me was "It's too light, isn't it?" The second thing he said was "what's your schedule like tomorrow?" I did not even have to ask him to respray because he offered to do so before I had the chance. The second time they sprayed the texture I did not even look at it until it was done. It looked very heavy to me but we decided to wait and see what it looked like the next day. Once the texture was dry it was exactly what I wanted and it matched the rest of my house, just as Bill said it would. Through all of this, Bill always had a great attitude and a smile on his face. I would recommend Bill to anyone and would use him again for future projects.
Description of Work: A small amount of Plaster repair and texture a medium sized bathroom. The room was covered in wallpaper by the builder and had no texture on the drywall.

The job from start to finish was painless, thanks to Bill. We have remodeled 7 other homes and know good contractors when we see them and their work, Bill is definitely in the class with the best and he will be returning in January to do some work for us when we remodel the master bath.
Description of Work: Bill responded immediately when I called to get an estimate on the repairs to be made. The walls in the guest bath were a mess because the former owner applied tissue paper to the wall and painted over it, and removing it caused rips in the sheetrock, skimcoat came off, and all orange peel finish was gone. There were also holes in the wall where the vanity had been removed and the medicine cabinet was taken out. Bill and his associate arrived at 9 a.m. and sanded the walls, then skimcoated and sprayed the orange peel finish to match the rest of the house. They cleaned out all of their materials they had used to protect the new tile and the existing tub, then cleaned the bathroom. They finished at 4 p.m. Now all we have to do is paint the walls , reinstall the toilet and put in the new vanity and top.

Overall the work they did was satisfactory, but the multiple delays, missed deadlines, and issues trying to reach the project manager each time something came up were very frustrating.
Description of Work: We noticed the stucco on one exterior wall cracking and buckling. Northeast provided a quote to remove & replace the existing stucco and estimated they could start the project the following Monday and complete the project in one week. They did not start on the date scheduled but did arrive later that week. At the end of the week they advised there was damage to the studs & trusses under the stucco (which they had warned was possible when they provided the quote). We waited to have another estimate for the additional work to replace the damaged sheathing and studs. We agreed to have them proceed, thinking we did not have much choice but to do the repair properly or face another repair in the near future. It took about a week for them get someone out to have the additional work done. We also had them quote on repainting the entire exterior wall. As part of the stucco repair, Northeast had to cut away screen panels from our lanai to have access to the wall being repaired. We asked Northeast to give us a date by which the painter would be done so that we could coordinate having another contractor replace the screen panels and replace the aluminum screen supports that had been removed by Northeast. The painting was not completed by this date and we had to reschedule the screen repair twice before finally getting everything finished.

The work requested was to repair some holes that had to be cut into the drywall to repair pipes that had a leak. The holes were in difficult places and not very big. Still, the work was done over a 5 1/2 hour period and done well. No rushing to get the job done and get out, they took their time and did it right. The biggest compliment I can give is that even my wife liked their work.
Description of Work: Bill Livingston appears to be the ower and estimator, but not the drywall expert. The actual workman did the best drywall work that I have ever seen. I am very pleased with the work and the price. He came exactly when he said, did the work, cleaned up and I did not have the first problem. His workman has 34 years experience, and it shows.

Mr. Livingston responded quickly to our call and arrived as scheduled to review the situation. He is very meticulous in seeing that the work is done correctly. They did an excellent job. They protected the other rooms extremely well and cleaned up thoroughly each day.
Description of Work: We called Bill Livingston of Northeast Construction to come and check moisture damage to our Dining Room Ceiling. He scheduled appointment for next day and after a thorough review he and his partner John assessed the damage and made their recommendation. The existing ceiling was removed, and replaced with moisture resistant drywall and a second AC vent was added. They matched the ceiling finish to the rest of the house and painted it.

I've called three stucco companies so far. This one did nothing. Never called back, never came out to do the estimate, and never seemed to care. Not a good way to grow your business.
Description of Work: I requested an estimate to have some stucco repaired on my home. I was told he would be out to look at the house within two days. Three days later I called back to check on the estimate. I had to give all my information again and start over with the description of the problem. I was again told that I would have an estimate in a few days. I called back to check on it andgot voicemail. I left a message and never heard back. The interactions I had were professional and seemed very promising.

I think my record speaks for itself. I went to his home and inspected the cracks on his stucco. I called him back with a price and got his voice mail. I left him a message that I called and to please call me back. I never heard from him. He claims he called and got my voice mail. He never left a message. I've got all A's(30) since I've been on Angie's list. I know I can't please all the people all the time. However, I work very hard to do just that. Thank you for your comments. I'm sorry for my part is this.

Quite a bit of our garage ceiling fell along with , what seemed like, a ton of cellulose insulation . We called Bill Livingston and left a message. He returned our call promptly and came out to give a quote the same day. We accepted his quote and he started the work two days later. Our old ceiling does not meet the current code. It was built 31 years ago and I am surprised the ceiling has lasted this long. Bill replaced the part of the ceiling that fell with the correct sheet rock and screws. He also replaced the missing insulation with batt insulation. He finished the project in one day and left the area very clean. He also put Kilz on spots of the remaining ceiling. He and his employees were courteous and very knowledgeable. They did an amazing job. We would definitely hire him again.

Bill and his partner Ed were just exceptional. This started out as a simple, small job to repair a portion of ceiling where we had removed a hanging cabinet in the kitchen and to replace a piece of drywall that was damaged by termites in the adjacent breakfast room in time for a major family party we were throwing in one week. Unfortunately, we discovered that the entire wall holding our bay window in the breakfast area was rotten through and through, we were leaking water inside the wall that we did not know about, and we had an active termite infestation. In 5 days they had completely removed the rotten wall, reframed it, installed a new window, drywalled it, removed the old popcorn ceiling and added the textured ceiling for both rooms, repaired another section of damaged ceiling and wall, arranged for stucco on the new exterior portion of the wall, and arranged for the painting to be done inside. It looked like it would be a disaster but it ended up being a beautiful (practically new) room. And the price was exceptionally good as well. I plan to use him again for the next round of ceiling and wall repairs.
Description of Work: Removal of an entire frame wall and window, rebuild the wall and install new window, remove popcorn ceiling and cover with textured ceiling, replace / repair portions of another damaged wall and damaged ceiling.

The crew arrived on time and did a wonderful job of cutting out the old drywall, installing a new piece, taping the joints, covering them with mud, and respraying. They even included respraying two adjacent areas which were discolored for no extra charge. They went to exceptional lengths to cover all areas so as not to be affected by the spray and, as usual, their cleanup was superb. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Bill visited our home to inspect and provide a quote. The quote was e-mailed to us the next day and the job was started in less than a week after receiving the quote. No sub contractors were used, which was a big selling point for me. They were very thorough to determine what caused the crack and fixed each area appropriately. A lot of effort was put into the job to match the textures of the ceiling and drywall exactly - no one would ever know where the cracks were or that any work was done. Many areas look better than the builders left it! It was very obvious that they were very experienced. They were very pleasant to work with, too.
Description of Work: Nearly every room in our home had cracks in the ceiling and/or walls due to settling. We also had to replace/repair some drywall due to water damage.

I was very alarmed when I moved a cabinet in our garage from against the wall and found the bottom portion of the wall covered in mold and mildew. (We even had mushrooms growing!) I called a couple of companies not associated with Angies List and also called Mr. Bill Livingston who is on Angie's List. He was very prompt, thorough, and VERY competitive in price charged. He explained very well what needed to be done to remove the mold and mildew and what I needed to do to keep the mold from coming back. I will definately be calling on Mr. Livingston again and recommend him to our neighbors and friends.

My initial contact with Bill was pleasant and he showed up exactly when he said he would. Shortly after supplying an estimate he was chosen to perform the work. I would definitely use Bill for any future drywall work and highly recommend him.

We had upgraded our alarm system and relocated our keypad higher up on our wall leaving us with approximately an 81/2 x 11 inch hole in our laundry room. When Mr. Livingston came to give us an estimate he was a little concerned about fixing the drywall considering he had an area of only about 6 inches to work around since we could not move the washing machine. Since our house is 30 years old we also had a few minor cracks and repairs we had him looked at. When we set up a time for him to come back and make the repairs, in all the years we have had workmen at our house, Mr. Livingston was the first to every thank "us" for hiring him. Originally he thought the job would take 2 days, but we were fortunate that he brought an assistant cutting the time back to one day. The drywall where the keypad had been turned out amazing, in addition to fixing a bubble in the bedroom and other repairs. The work was completed in a day and done beautifully. Not only was the work exceptional but Mr. Livingston is also good about cleaning up after the work is complete. He also showed my husband how to do some minor repairs himself which was greatly appreciated. We would use Mr. Livingston again without hesitation.

I have used Bill before to remove popcorn ceilings and retexture with knockdown and he did a wonderful job, so I called him to apply texture to the walls in a small bathroom I was remodeling. I had removed the wallpaper and the walls were smooth, so the texture prepared them for paint and hid small imperfections. He did a beautiful job and the texture is uniform throughout the 5' X 5' bath. He is a perfectionist who does an amazing job and always stands by his estimate.
