CARPET ONE DESIGN CENTER

Review for: Dick Start Carpet One Ormond Beach, Fl 32174 This firm also has a Design Center in Palm Coast. This review centers on the Ormond Beach facility. Although this review is a little late, it is still significant to summarize the issues with this firm. I noticed that apparently no prior reviews have been submitted. We have had Carpet One do several projects for us in the past with very good results. These projects were not major compared to the one I will address with this report. The sales person is very likable and very friendly. In the past, we were satisfied customers . This report focuses on the project we contracted for in Feb.14, 2013. This project would complete our Kitchen remodeling with the installation of a new Kitchen floor including a small hallway. I requested all vents, return air vent, bottom of doors and rear rooms be sealed to preclude dust collection in adjacent areas. This was never done. One installer was involved for more than 90% of the time to rip up, clean up and install new flooring. On numerous occasions, I was forced to notify Bruce Gomes, Installation Mgr, that this installer was spending considerable time outside on his cell phone. Not much gets accomplished when one is on a cell phone. In addition, a loss of attention to the project is another bye product. During the installation phase, the installer managed to damage our new Stainless Steel Refrigerator and run his power saw into and adjoining wall and base board. This obviously required repair and I had to purchase some paint to repaint the damaged area. The refriggerator door had to be replaced. I notified Bruce Gomes a couple of times regarding this damage. We had previously advised the sales person of our new appliances and he told us that any damage by them will be taken care of. So much for that. I ended up having the door replaced. Not once, during this project or after the work was completed, did anyone stop to see how this project was going or see if we had any issues other than what we had previously informed Bruce. Not Once did they care. Disappointing is an understatement considering previous projects with Carpet One were done without incidient. This major project unfortunately will not earn a good rating. My recommendation to future customers is getting all details in writing included with the general contract that Carpet One offers. THE CONTRACTOR REMOVED THE OLD CARPET AND INSTALLED NEW CARPET VERY EFFICIENTLY. HE ALSO HAULED OFF ALL THE OLD CARPET. THE CONTRACTOR SHOWED UP TIMELY AND COMPLETED THE WORK VERY QUICKLY.
