He did a fantastic job! He was so neat, clean, and very professional. They cleaned up and left everything spotless after replacing, removing, and hauling away the garage door. They were so polite, nice, and such a pleasure to work with!

The garage door at my daughter's house came completely out of the tracks and was laying half-suspended on shelves in the garage. Of course, this happened on Memorial Day and I called a couple companies out of the yellow pages but didn't hear back from them. I called a guy who had worked on my door before and he referred me to Atkins. I called him and left a voicemail at 5:30 in the evening and he called me back 15 minutes later and told me he could be there at 6:15 to try and get it fixed. He arrived at 6:15 as stated and my daughter said he was very polite, as he was on the phone, and took the whole door apart and reassembled it and was done in about 90 minutes. My daughter said it operates much smoother than it ever did before. We really appreciate James being willing to come out in the evening on a Holiday, as well as being courteous and professional. He charged $75 which I thought was extremely reasonable for the job. I will not touch a garage door, as I don't know what I'm doing with the springs, adjustment, etc. It's nice to have a reliable company to call who won't rake you over the coals when it comes to pricing!

Looked up Garage Doors here on Angie's list. Atkins was at the top o the list. I called James. He was VERY polite. Told me had a few jobs to do but would be aat my house between 6 - 7 pm. Also told me if the issue was infact the springs it would not take very long to fix. I was pleased as we had a car stuck in the garage. he door imply would not open. He arrived on-time (after calling to tell me he was on his way). In person James was just as polite and professional as he was on the phone. James gave me all the info I needed to make my decision. Great guy.. HONEST!!!!!!!

The owner/ worker came to my home the same day I called, provided a written estimate which was lower than his competitors, then returned at the exact time and date he said he would and installed the new garage door and removed the old one. He was pleasant, neat and clean, and everything happened as I hoped it would. I could not have been more satisfied.

One of the torsion springs broke on my garage door. Some garage doors have one, mine has two. They are the large springs at the top of the door that allow the garage door opener to easily lift and close the garage door. When one or both of these break, the weight of the door is too much for the opener to lift the door. I checked on Angie's list before I called a company because I heard from a neighbor that had been charged too much for a similar repair. I called 2 of the companies listed and was impressed after Jim Atkins returned my call. He is pretty much a 1-man show so you may have to leave a message for him but it will be well worth your while. Jim promptly called me back and set an appointment for the next day. He was genuinely concerned if my car was trapped in the garage (it was not) and said he would have come the same day. Jim showed up as promised and quickly fixed my problem. I had him change both springs (only 1 was broken) since they were old. He have me a discount for the 2nd spring - $75 for one spring or $130 for both. Jim was very professional, repaired my garage door quickly, and then took a lot of time to lubricate and adjust the overall operation of my garage door, all at no extra charge. I highly recommend Atkins Garage Doors and will definitley use them again if the need should arise.

After a big lightning hit a few days ago several electronic things stopped working, including the garage door remote controls. Our garage door and opener are fairly new and I would have called the original inataller, but they were out of business. I called Atkins based on his rating here and he said he would be out the next afternoon. He came as promised, fixed the problem, and charged only $35 for a service call. He did not attempt to sell me something I didn't need. He simply fixed the problem quickly and professionally, charged a reasonable fee, and left. I couldn't be happier.

He did a great job. He does his own work. He said that he didn't really do that much for me when he came out so he charged me a very low price for his services.
