They arrived approximately on time, and immediately had mechanical problems with their equipment. After a delay of about 45 minutes, they started the job. They covered a small hibiscus hedge in the front yard with a tarp where they accessed the roof, and began spraying. This was the only area that was covered while they worked. I was told they were using a combination of chlorine (a high percentage pool solution) and some other ingredient that was a detergent (like TSP). When hired, I was told this solution would not harm the foliage. I was told he could not afford to be replacing foliage if it caused any damage. They proceeded to spray this solution over the roof tiles, covering the entire area. They then said this needed to sit for awhile, and they left the area for about an hour. Upon returning, the informed me they needed to "hit" the edges of the tile, and they would then take a look at the roof again. While "hitting" the edges, the overspray was going everywhere. Upon finishing this part, again I was told they would wait awhile to let the solution work. After about 20 minutes, I was told they were done. Upon Inspection, I could see several areas that were still covered with mildew. When I informed them of this, they assured me that the roof was still covered with he solution, and it would be clean after sitting in the sun for several hours. I was told they would come back the following day if it was not. I had them write this on the receipt, and gave them a check. The next day, when the mildew was still present, I gave them a call. I left a message. Mr. Rice called later in the day, and was very pleasant. Said he would be out later that day. When he didn't show, I called again. Again I left a message. Didn't get a call back. Called again, and Mr. Rice assured me he would be there that day, he had just run into some problems. Again a no show, and now he would not answer the phone. So I gave up, figuring this was a relatively inexpensive job. But then, three days after they had finished, the foliage around the house started dying. Palms, exotic tropical plants, and much more ominous, tree frogs... I have called numerous times, and they have not answered or called back in response to messages left.
