I only write reviews when a company is Exceptional and Excellent! That means I rarely write reviews! Today was my second time to use Alpine Farms, they are truly an excellent company! The first time I had bees swarming on the second story of my house and coming through my office light fixtures. I was convinced they were coming from the attic, I was wrong. In 25 years I have lived here I never had bees, so this was new to me. I did some research and called 3 companies. Alpine Farms returned my called within an hour by the time the other two called back the next day the bee problem had been fixed. Yesterday, I called Alpine Farms again as there was a huge amount of swarming bees on my lower deck...thousands...too afraid to even take my dogs outside. They had a technician at my home this morning. Again, problem solved. I had used Cory the first time and requested him for today. The company accommodated that request. Cory is so professional and so knowledgeable and patient with answering all my concerns. Both my daughter and I are allergic to bee stings....so I had concerns. Cory provided an education, literately taking the time to explain the working of bees. Cory is excellent! I would recommend Alpine Farms to anyone having a problem with bees. I have already told neighbors this is the best company to use. Thank you, Alpine Farms both for your prompt response and for having such a expert/professional as Cory.

It went well. Alpine Farms sent someone out within days of my call. The technician removed the hive. He estimated it was 10-12 pounds of hive and honey. Advised us to leave the cabinet open and the outdoor light on for a few days, until the remaining bees leave the area. The technician was very professional, courteous, and did a nice job of cleaning up the area when he was finished. The price was very competitive with the other quotes I got before choosing a provider.

Great. The individual that came out, Steve, was so knowledgeable. I understood everything he shared with me. I also enjoyed getting an education about bees. When he first look, there was a hole in the fascia on my roof. He thought it might have been done by a woodpecker. When he said that I laughed. I've been dealing with a woodpecker on my property for years. At that moment, I knew I had the right man and company.

Steve Kinch was the technician who came out from this provider to give me a quote. He was a very impressive person and represented the company very well. He was extremely knowledgeable about bees and even educated me on things that I didn't know about bees. He was very professional and polite. The only reason I didn't use this provider was because the price was slightly too high for me.

The whole job was excellent from start to finish. The bee man, Casey, was as nice as he could be. He was on time and very professional. He And the roofers did their work flawlessly. The bees have not returned so far. The work is guaranteed so will have help if it's required in the near future. Stephanie who works in the office who schedules the appointments was also very professional and helpful. I would definitely use this company again and would recommend them to anyone who has bee problems.

We called Alpine Farms, after checking with some other company's. We had discovered a Bee nest in the corner of the roof a few month's ago, but didn't do anything about it at the time. Then we started having dead bees and some live ones, at our front door .in the morning because we had the outside light on at night. .I called Alpine Farms and they sent a man out on Monday, 8/12/2013. He gave us two estimates, one to just spray and kill, and another to open up the soffits and then we would have to get someone to repair them. Approximate $300.00 or $500.00 and he said the last would be better to get rid of the problem. We finally decided to go with the Approx. $500.00 even tho we would have to get a repairman, because they said the bees would probably come back within a year if just spray and seal. I didn't like the price, but we (my son and I ) decided that was the best way to go. It was set up for the man to come out on Wednesday 8/14/2013. Wednesday, Mike Worrow came to do the job, and said the man that was here before had changed jobs. Mike inspected the Bee Hive and suggested that it would be much better to cut out the roof and take out the honeycomb, bees and honey that way. He explained to us the method and said he would bring with him a roofer that they work with. He said this would cost $1285.00. I thought - ouch !, but to go the way to open the soffits and get our own repair man could cost that much or more. We decided to go with this way. On Monday, 8/19/2013, about 8:30 am, Mike, Hugo and Freddy came. They got to work right away, Mike put his Bee outfit on and sprayed the nest, Hugo, with Jeff Albert Roofing, got up on the roof and cut open a 3 x 3 opening. He took pictures of the hives tin our roof, unbelievable !.They removed, they said about 60 pounds of honeycomb, honey and bees.. they cleaned it all up, Mike sprayed to kill anything left, the roofer replaced the roof and sealed the openings with foam. They showed us 2 large black trash bags with the stuff they removed. and we took pictures. These three men were very polite and pleasant to be with. They did a super job and cleaned up the area and took the trash with them. I highly recommend them and would use them again if necessary. Jeff Albert Roofing even emailed the pictures to us that Hugo had taken. That was very thoughtful and kind.
Description of Work: Sprayed the Bee's from the outside, then roofer cut about 3 X 3 foot hole in the roof, and took several pictures, before the Bee man removed the honeycomb, honey and dead bees. They cleaned it all out, sprayed more to kill any remaining bees and the roofer replaced the roof and sealed the openings with foam.

They was very honest and professional. We had 40-50 lbs of honey that had come from the bee's nest. They recommended the proper techniques to clear the problem up. The recommended a great roofing company to remove the problem and fix correctly. I had 4 other companies come out and submit offers to kill the nest, but not remove the area of honey that would have continued to attract bees and other rodents. It was an absolute pleasure doing business with them.

Great service. Neighbor had bee hive. Some bees came to our home from the neighbors hive. Alpine gave me info over phone and came out to look at our home and neighbors home. Alpine determined that hive at neighbor's home and and quot;confused beesand quot; came into our home. Alpine said once neighbor's home has bee hive removed, we will not see any more bees. Alpine guy filled a gap in area in our roof corner with spray foam at no charge. He discussed problem with bee hive with my neighbor. I was very happy with the information I was given over phone and then in person. I highly recommend Alpine for any bee removal issues. Thank you.

It went over very well. I was not happy about the cost, but as Mike worked, he explained that the job is high risk and thus merits a high pay scale. I'm very pleased with the outcome.
Description of Work: About three weeks ago, I noticed a small swarm of bees outside of my side garage door entrance. I sprayed them and got on the ladder for a closer look. I didn't see any next or rotten wood, so I thought that was the extent of the problem and I was done. I left for a week's vacation, and when I returned, the swarm was back, but about ten times worse. Upon closer inspection, I could still not see any next but something was keeping the bees close. I did some research on the internet and quickly decided I might need expert assistance. I also carefully accessed my attic, where I observed what looked like a next on the far wall, between roof trusses. I had three beekeepers come to my home, and the contractor I chose provided the midpoint estimate. Other estimates were $320 and $420. The beekeeper, Mike, came out on Saturday, assessed my problem, provided a quote and said he could do it immediately. He told me we would have to remove wood from the exterior soffit or cut through the interior garage ceiling to access the hive. I chose the interior ceiling drywall. He sprayed outside, then entered the attic and sprayed again. Once the swarming ended, he cut out a 3x4 foot section of the drywall to access the attic. He showed me the next and estimated it weighed 50-60 pounds including honey. He methodically and carefully removed the hive and cleaned the area down to the wood. He also removed the dead bees, did interior cleanup, patched the holes through which the bees had gained access (barely bigger than an eraser tip) and disposed all the garbage. Mike was also in the service for 20 years, and while he worked, he shared with me some of his military experiences and how he came to get into the bee trade. Great guy - very skilled, very informative and very funny.

tA company beekeeper was dispatched the same day I called and the bees were removed at the same time.
Description of Work: An estimate was given for a swarming nest of bees built by the bees in a small hole of our exterior house in the front. It was determined that a hole needed to be cut in the exterior of the house nearest the bees. While I thought the price was steep I also recognizethe amount of labor that went into removing the nest completely plus the two trips made by the company--the second to see ifthere was a second nest (there wasn't). The hole was cut neatly. I was advised that bees--a different lot--could move in if thearea was not fixed. Professional Pest Solutions, Ron Lane and his asst., recommended Alpine. I did not feel that I had timeto obtain estimates from different companies because a near neighbor is allergic and there was a danger of the bees gettinginto the attic. As for relocating the bees--it is not so simple to extract the queen and take the swarm elsewhere. There was alsoa possibility that the bees were an invasive species to Florida. I appreciate the educational help I got from this company which has been in the bee removal business for 20 years.

I had noticed bees flying in and out of an opening near the second story roof of my home. Alpine Farms responded promptly and sent Mike out to take a look at the situation and give me a quote. He explained that the bees appeared to have established a sizeable nest and sugested that the best option would be to remove the entire hive, since spraying and sealing the nest would leave a potentially significant amount of wax and honey inside the roof. He gave me quotes for spraying and leaving the hive in place (not recommended), doing the removal with a roofer of my choice to do the repairs that I would pay separately, or having them do the bee removal using a roofer that they subcontract (Jeff Albert Roofing). The quotes they provided for the spray and seal and the removal alone were competitive with ones we received from other companies. We decided to have the beehive totally removed and use their roofer to do the roof opening and repair. They came out within a few days of me calling and setting up an appointment and arrived promptly on the day of service. Based on the size of the hive they removed, I was very glad that we had elected to remove it, as Mike recommended, and not spray and seal it in place. Mike and the roofing crew from Jeff Albert were courteous, did a great job, and cleaned up very nicely when they were done. They charged me exactly what was quoted, despite what appeared to be more extensive removal of tiles/flashing to get the hive out than I thought they were going to do. In summary, Alpine Farms provided prompt, courteous service at a competitive price. If I ever get another bee infestation, I would absolutely use them again. The roofers did a really nice job too -- I'm definitely planning on giving them a ring for a quote if I need roof work done in the future.
Description of Work: Removed a large honeybee hive from a roof cavity. Services included subcontracting a roofer to open and repair the rroof, removing the honeybees, hive, wax, and honey, applying short-acting and residual pesticides, sealing bee entrances/exits, and restoring roof to the original condition.

I had a bee infestation. Called Alpine Farms. They were courteous and professional, and their representative showed up earlier than hoped. He decided it was best to pump insecticide into the cavity where the bees were and seal the entry holes. He did all the work quickly, even though he had to climb around the house in the rain. We thought everything was fine. The bees didn't go away. It turned out he missed a couple of very large openings where they had no trouble getting in and out. He really should have spotted them; they were very close to the area where he worked. I called. They agreed to send him back out. I didn't hear from them. The bee problem got worse. I called again. They said they would get back to me. That was the last contact I had with them. I had to dress up twice in a makeshift bee suit, climb a ladder, and plug the holes myself. They seem like nice people, but I paid $235 and couldn't get them to come back for a second look, and I had to solve the bee problem myself. He probably put in 90 minutes' work, and I would not complain, since part of the expense is for the expertise, but he didn't finish the job. He stated that he couldn't give me a warranty, because the bees weren't removed, and he was trying to spare the structure of the house, and in cases where bees are left in place, you can have problems. But I still think he should have responded to the calls. I didn't ask for warranty work; I just needed help. Bees can cause very serious problems very quickly, so when a bee specialist abandons you, you are really in a tight spot. I said "I paid too much" because the job I paid for--sealing the bee entry holes--was never finished. I had to do it myself. I gave the work a D because the bees weren't noticeably affected by what Alpine Farms did. They were continuing to build a fine, healthy hive, days after the work was done.
Description of Work: Inspected area where bees were gathering outside house. Located holes where the bees were coming and going. Drilled holes and explored to determine location of bees. Patched the exploratory holes and some of the holes the bees were using. Pumped insecticide into the cavity they were occupying.

Response from Alpine Farms Inc
We are sorry this wasn't a pleasant experience. After reviewing the service, that particular technician is no longer employed. This delayed response is because today is the first day ever on Angie's List (6/15/2012). The employee in question has not been employed by Alpine Farms for 2+ years. Again my sincerest apology.
