It was great! Communicated with me quickly to set an appointment time arrived right on time! He sprayed lubricant on all the springs, rollers, and hinges. The LOUD opening and closing that we suffered through for 8 years is actually MUCH quieter.

They were able to juggle appointments to help us out within an hour. Very experienced, flawless repair.

Thursday evening, after my husband spent about an hour trying to fix the garage door, I went on Angie's List. I found The Garage Door King and saw that they were open until 11:30 pm!!! It was 8:30. We called and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. (No car was trapped. It wasn't an emergency). I got a call that said they could come earlier than the scheduled time! Great!! He repaired the cable, reset the spring, lubricated all the cables and springs on the door on both sides to make it work more efficiently. Very professional.

Mike was near-by on another call when I called. He came over as soon as he was done - within an hour or so as I recall. He installed another sensor and we were good to go.

Very punctual and efficient. One of the garage door springs went out on a Sunday morning. I didn't want to be a bother on a Sunday so I sent a message thru Angie's List rather then call. He sent a message back the same day and we scheduled the repair for the day. Mike showed up at 8:30am and was done in a hours time. Very happy with the service.

He was awesome. He was prompt, on time. The prices were good. The door is working well. He was great. I got everything emailed to me. It was a really smooth process.

He told me exactly what to do and it solved the problem. He said he was one of the few people that could fix the problem, but told me what to do over the phone for free. I did what he said, it worked! He said "I'd hate to come out tomorrow and charge you $75 for something I can do in two minutes." I said I'd call into Angie's List and leave him feedback. I would absolutely use him in the future. He's the only garage door company in my phone!

Mike answered the phone right away. He said he was on his way to a job in Boynton Beach and asked if it would it be ok to come later that day or the following morning. I told him we could not get the door open to get the cars out which was important because I had to leave at noon for a birthday party - my own! So, he turned his car right around and got to us within an hour. He replaced the spring (for the 'Angie's List' price he had quoted) and got me on my way just in time. We are so grateful for his help - in fact we plan to use his company to replace our 25 yr old doors very soon! Just a note - we called another A list provider first - was on hold for maybe 5 minutes, then answered by an echo sounding like a call center and when we asked where they were answering from - lost connection? That's when we went to Garage Door King - glad we did.

They showed up within an hour of being contacted, were knowledgeable, professional and quickly completed the repair. I would 100% contact them again for any other garage door repairs I need in the future.

Once we agreed on a time and date, they showed up on time and performed the work quickly and satisfactorily. They also lubricated the springs, rollers and other parts. They tested the overall function of the door.

This is the second time I use TGDK, and as before, was very pleased with Mike's punctuality, professionalism, and honesty. Mike promised to call me at 8:00 am the day before the appointment and did so. He scheduled the appointment for the next day and showed up on time. He is not the pushy kind of guy trying to sell you a new door, opener, or even replace parts that don't need to be replaced. We went there to fix the problem I described and he was in and out. He did a great job!! I would always recommend TGDK.

Mike came out to give us an estimate and was right around the other estimates we had, but he was obviously more knowledgeable about the different options available. He gave us several options to choose from and knew all the details right away. Mike and his son came to install and were on time, very efficient, kind and courteous. They hauled away all the old material and left everything clean.

This is a father and son operation that have been around for 20+ years. I called my regular garage door service provide, Reliable Garage Door, they said they couldn't get to me for a few weeks. My wife is in wheelchair and our vehicle was trapped in the garage. Garage Door King was extremely sensitive to the situation and was out here within the hour to solve the problem. The original quote was $225.00 I told them I found them on Angie's List, and he offered me a discount, but I still paid him the $225.00. They were very professional and they did a great job in fixing it and inspecting it to make sure that everything else worked.

Mike was right on time and only took about ten minutes to replace the spring. I strongly recommend him for any garage door issues.

I can't say enough at how happy i was at the honesty and integrity that Mike Homan and his son from Garage Door King showed when coming out to my house to replace my garage door opener. There are not many companies that would have been honest of the fact that we did not need a new garage door opener. Mike showed me that the wire connecting the door button on the wall somehow got disconnected. He said our garage door opener was still in great shape and did not need to be replaced. My husband and I were prepared to buy a new garage door opener so when Mike explained it was not necessary we were ecstatic! They could have very easily replaced our garage door opener without us ever knowing that it was only a disconnected wire but because their "MORAL COMPASS" points due North, they were honest and told us it was not necessary! I am constantly reminded that there are still honest good people in this world, and Mike Homan and his son from Garage Door King proved that! I highly recommend this company for any garage door service or repairs. We definitely will be using them again!

Mike was great. He gave me a call ahead of time so I didn't have to sit home all day waiting. He adjusted my springs after I added insulation to the door and adjusted the belt and motor settings.

Mike responded to my inquiry quickly and set up a convenient time to come by. Gave me a call when he was on his way so that I did not have to take a half-day off of work. Had all the necessary parts needed for the repair and explained how to best maintain the replacement parts. Was done very quickly. No problems. Excellent service!

Garage King did not know Palm Beach Gardens permit code and advised I would need to move my electrical circuit breaker to do the install. I then had to call the code enforcement department myself and they said it was fine without moving anything and instructed me what to tell the vendor about how to cut the support beams to pass inspection. The vendor did not like my choice of type of motor (belt drive vs their chain drive) and tried to sell me on their commercial model even though there was a bedroom located above the garage. The job took about 7hrs for a single door and they left quite a mess behind (debris, many empty / partially full water bottles, drywall dust and wood chips everywhere including on my clothing by washing machines at back of garage). Boxes of things and items on shelves that were in the work area had all been piled up into the back of garage and not returarea once done as they were far behind schedule. Around a day or so after the install I got a call from someone with Garage King who asked how things went and when I advised of the issues I ran into (the boxes were still piled up) and she seemed concerned and said I would be getting a call back from the owner to see about what could be done. It haI now been about a month and no contact back. I ended up having to ask a friend to come help me carry it back as I could not do it myself (recent shoulder surgery) and had another company come out to do the motor install with the belt drive I wanted. Bottom line is they did do the job but I would recommend making sure that you understand fully what is included in the quote that details all of the equipment you will receive (key fobs, door sensors, entry buttons, etc) and that you make sure to request that all debris be fully removed and all items moved be put back when job is complete even if they take longer than expected to complete your project.

Mike came on a Sunday to repair our broken garage door, with a small additional fee for weekend service. He called ahead to confirm his arrival time and performed the job as quoted. No surprises or hidden costs. He was polite, professional and REALLY GREAT. I will definitely hire him again for other garage-related jobs. Thanks! F. Michelon
