Where to begin. Killian worked quickly to build the walls along with his dry wall guy. At first the work seemed okay, but we thought there was a lot of rubble left behind, which we had to take to the curb ourselves, yet we paid extra for them to take care of it. The house was just full of dust, we had to buy a dry vac to clean up after the work-wasn't that the contractor's job? The dry wall guy smoked in the house, and left his cigarette butts all over the house-not cool. The ceiling guy got white ceiling stuff on the walls, and left his ceiling crud all over doorknobs, ceiling fans, etc. My slow boil began. I told my husband we should complain to someone, but he wanted to just move on, keep on going. Then, when we were taking measurements in order to buy a vanity cabinet, we realized that Killian had not measured the wall distance correctly between the two bathrooms and we didn't have enough space to get the vanity in there. We had to tear out the dry wall, saw part of the wood framing and replace the drywall with the thin cement drywall for bathrooms. Luckily my husband is an engineer and with quite a bit of tweaking we managed to re-do Killian's work in order to get the vanity cabinet in there. Killian also failed to install the cement drywall above the shower, so we had to re-do that as well. I learned more than I care to about drywall work. When we went to have finished inspections with the county, we discovered that Killian had not gotten an inspection for his framing work! This was the topper. I called Killian and he said: "I'm sorry, I forgot to take care of that." He had let his license expire, so I could not get any more inspections done because he could not reschedule them, and neither could I because the permit was in his name. What a nightmare, dealing with the county, trying to get the permitting taken care of, much time and money involved.
