Capitol Carpet & Tile - Palm Beach Gardens

The overall experience was very good. I started the project in late December of 2017 and the install was completed on January 9th, 2018. Installers were prompt and quick during install. Would use their services again as needed.

Pros: The store employees and experience was excellent during order and scheduling. The finished product is awesome. All defects/errors in installation were corrected to our satisfaction after about 3 rounds of work. Cons: Despite being assured by store staff that all installers were company employees, the installers told us they were contractors. There was a complete lack of professionalism in respecting our home by the installers. We were told to prepare the lower level of our home as if a road was being built through. We covered all cabinetry and furniture with plastic wrap and double tented off the upstairs. We have no problem with the dust created and left on surfaces, etc. However, the interior doors were filthy with dark-grout colored hand prints and do not come off even with Mr Clean Eraser, must be repainted. Woodwork is scratched and/or stained with the dark-colored grout throughout and must be repainted as well. Also, they did much work in our garage where we stored uncovered furniture from work area, our tools, holiday storage and grandchildren's toys. All items were completely covered with debris and dust from the tile cutting and mixing of grout and thin-set. We had to empty out entire garage, sweep & mop floor, then wash down all items to put back. Workers also used our expensive, upholstered patio furniture out back for breaks, lunch, etc. We found food wrappers and empty beverage containers littered around the area and dark stains on the upholstery requiring steam cleaning. Not a good representation of the vendor, Capital Carpet & Tile. When I did contact our sales representative, whom I was told was the store manager, regarding issues we were having with contractor, received no help. The owner did follow-up a week after completion and was told of issues. Apologized on phone and through email.

Not well. Salesman was very nice and did his best to rectify all the issues. I was never offered any financial concession for the multitude of problems. Management also never reached out to me to discuss our problems or offer real solutions. Problems included: 1. Blinds that were ordered were the wrong type and measured incorrectly. 2. Installer could not figure out which window treatment should be installed with a particular window. Installer ended up installing the wrong blinds on the wrong window then claiming they were measured wrong and cutting them by hand before realizing that they were installed on the wrong window. Replacement blinds that were ordered were also the wrong type and the length was measured incorrectly. They needed to be removed and re-cut to fit properly. 3. Valence that was installed in kitchen was fastened by velcro and fell down after two weeks. The replacement was ordered (different design) and when it arrived the installer opened the box and found that it was broken. No one ever checked the product after it arrived to the warehouse. Instead, they waited until the morning of the installation appointment to inform us. 3. Original contract was signed on 4/26/2016. On 9/26/16 we are still waiting for the replacement valance to be replaced and installed and this job to be completed.

We were really pleased with what they did for us. People showed up on time, they were polite. Price was high, but they did good work and they showed up on time and completed the job and everything.

The entire process went exactly as represented. They were on time, very clean, did excellent work and were very professional. The amount of personal attention provided was exceptional.

The tile removal was obviously very noisy and very dusty, but that was to be expected. The workers were very courteous, hard working and professional in every respect. They cleaned up as they went along, and hauled off all of the debris. They did a super job of laying out the wood prior to installation so that the resulting flooring was truly a work of art. The patterns and mix of different wood shades was just perfect and we were thrilled with the final result. If you arte looking for perfection, look no further!

We were pleased with the total process. Carl was nice to work with and very helpful with the type of flooring we decided to purchase. The installers, George and Angelo were excellent. They were extremely conscientious in making sure the floor was installed correctly and did not rush the installation. They were hard workers who did not stop, except for lunch, from the time they arrived until they left. On top of this, they were punctual, nice and very polite. I would definitely use Capital Tile & Carpet again.

Very punctual, installers were great. Can't see any seams! The carpet is beautiful! Criticisms: 1. The salesperson never followed up with my quote and I had to call to find out the status; 2. They measured incorrectly when they came to do the estimate so the installers didn't have enough carpet to do the job when they originally came. They had to order more carpet and then come out a second time to finish the job. 3. They forgot to call me to tell me the additional carpet was in and to schedule the install.

Excellent service and products. Very professional

It went extremely quickly and well. It cost a great deal as they charged to move each heavy piece of furniture. I blame myself as I did not get any other bids -- had to decide and finish quickly -- and do not know if this was standard procedure. They did a great job of installing and very, very quickly. Again, I should have studied the billing a bit more up front to see exactly what I was paying for.

Very smoothly. Though they should have sent two installers.

Came out promptly and gave a fair estimate. Decided to use another company.

All repairs made. Lou Merano personally took charge of this project and all corrections were made.

Grout was left in corners and on tile. Carpet was installed incorrectly. Was reinstalled and now has to be done again as it was installed incorrectly.

Excellent experience from all involved. Carl Greene was outstanding as our inside sales person and helped with tile and grout selection, measurement and install set up. Carl spent plenty of time with us making sure that we had exactly what we wanted for our home. Eddie Bedoya and his crew did an exceptional job with the demolition and install. They showed up on time every day and made sure that they kept the job clean, organized and on schedule. The crew worked around our needs to stay in the home during installation and they were cleaned up and gone promptly by 6pm each evening. The job took exactly as long as quoted. We were very impressed with the fact that Eddie called after the job was complete to be sure that we were satisfied. We also received a call from Capitol Carpet and Tile asking the same questions. This company understands customer service and they made it a point to let us know that we were valued customers. We would absolutely use Capitol Carpet and Tile again in the future.

I was in a panic. After reading the stellar reviews of this company I decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did! I REALLY needed carpet laid before our furniture came and although I was ordering a ton of carpet and even a special order for one room, they worked with me to get it in before our furniture came. Glen (?) helped me the first time I was there and was very patient with me. He was knowledgeable and helpful. The next time I went in, Carl helped my husband and I decided on what our best options would be. He even went through every single carpet sample to find a difficult 'green' I needed. Both guys were wonderful to work with. They were able to put a rush on the carpet and we were able to get it all done in time before our furniture was delivered. I am so happy with these guys, they worked with me to make sure it was perfect.

They made the job very simple and easy and matched Home Depots price. From the man who helped us at there store to the crew that installed I was impressed. They even called after the install to find out if we were happy.

Everything went well from start to finish. The sales representative was very professional and pointed out details that I had not considered. When it was time to install, I received a call and scheduled the installation for the next day. Then, two hours later, the installer himself called and asked if he could come by that afternoon. He showed up when he said he would and was very neat and professional. He brought in a folding work table and even put down a moving blanket underneath it so the legs wouldn't scratch my floor. In about 45 minutes, all three shades were up and he had collected all of the shipping materials. He even took the time to explain to me that the shades would probably telescope in the future, but that I could call the service department and they would fix that for me. I'm very happy with the shades and won't hesitate to go to Capital Carpet & Tile for my future window dressing needs.

They were excellent and they’ve been very good both times that I used them. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Met with Carl on a Friday night. He let us take samples back to the house and we picked one that we wanted to move forward with. We needed to have the carpet ordered, and installed in 2 weeks. Issue was the manufacturer didn't have the style we wanted in stock for delivery within the timeframe we needed. Carl worked to find a comparable brand (at a little cheaper price) and advised that the brand we were buying was almost the same with as the one we like with the exception of one thread. If it wasn't for the professionalism and experience that Carl had shown in the store, I wouldn't have done this, but we bought the carpet sight-unseen on his recommendation and assurance it was similar. He then negotiated with another supplier to make sure that we could get that carpet within our timeframe. We ordered the carpet and the installation date fell right in line with finishing up another project in the house. When we weren't able to visually verify the carpet was acceptable per our order, Carl personally showed up to our house to verify it was correct, and the installation went off without a hitch. I know a lot of folks made this all happen, but without the personal commitment and attention to detail by Carl, this wouldn't have happened and we would have had to move our moving date.

I agree with a prior review on this store, in which the customers felt that their business was not wanted. I went in knowing the measurements, style and color (I brought a sample) of the carpet and padding I wanted. The salesman was unwilling to break down the price for me, which was exorbitant, based on 2 other estimates. In other words, he was unwilling to itemize the estimate (cost of carpet, cost of pad, labor). The price was at least DOUBLE compared with my two other estimates. I kindly bid my farewell.

After rescheduling and taking off another day of work the job was completed a expected.

The service was good. They were professional and efficient and I am happy with the results.

Although we were looking at a more expensive carpet, the salesman helped us purchase a more sturdy and durable carpet that had a better stain warranty and was softer. Also liked that the salesman (Charlie) was not high pressure. Even though it only came in one color (hence the lower price) we liked the color. It is also a standard color that will come in handy for resale in the future.
