A while back I had Larry's AC Inc come out to install a 3ton 2stage non-communicating unit that we bought on our own. Larry told us that he would provide the proper thermostat for our 2stage unit. He charged us 1700$ for the install Well after about 2 months of the AC not being able to cool down the house, I kept trying to get him to come out and fix the problem that I found out was a bad thermostat that he put on wrong. He installed a 1stage thermostat onto our 2stage unit. Him and his son refused to come install a new thermostat that I had bought, and blamed it on me that I didn't have the correct thermostat when they came out to install the unit originally, Even though they insisted BEFORE the install that I didn't need to buy a thermostat despite telling them I had no problem doing so.. They kept telling me that they had the proper thermostat on the truck and so I trusted them. Well after they refused to come fix it and told me to go screw myself, I called another company to come out and WOW!! The tech found out that they indeed did install the wrong thermostat, it was a 1 stage thermostat and we had a 2stage unit which I told Larry about beforehand multiple times, He insisted that he knew what he was doing and would have no problem doing it correctly.. On top of the wrong thermostat, during the diagnostic the new tech found that Larry's AC Inc installed our unit completely wrong and to run in stage 1 permanently. In the image I've provided you can see clearly that the wire for the 2nd stage was not even hooked up AT ALL. But the problems don't stop there!!! ON TOP OF ALL THAT, The new tech also discovered that our brand new unit was installed with not enough coolant! They didn't even put enough coolant in the unit for it to work properly!!! 2 months of the unit being unable to cool the house down and Larry blamed it on everything from it being a Rheem unit, to it being my fault that I didn't have the correct thermostat when he got there.. Well guess what, It took less than an hour for the new tech to diagnose the problems and correct them... OUR AC UNIT WORKS GREAT NOW!!! For the first time since we've had it, the house cools down very quickly, and it doesn't run constantly anymore because it's not struggling to cool the house down stuck in 1 stage!! I don't know if it was the coolant being low or the bad thermostat or the fact that stage 2 wasn't even hooked up, or maybe it was all 3... But as soon as the new tech fixed all those issues, Our Rheem AC started working AMAZINGLY!! I am so happy that it was just Larry's incompetence and not a bad unit!!! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, IF YOU CALL THEM OUT ON THEIR BAD WORK THEY WILL BLAME EVERYTHING OTHER THAN THEMSELVES, And his son might even threaten to want to fight you like he did me in the text message that i've also provided an image for. What an absolute joke of a company, and all it would have taken is for Larry to fix his mistake, but instead they get this horrible review because they couldn't have the integrity to come out and fix their mistakes.

The technician is always really friendly and it's usually the same guy that comes out each time, so thats nice to have someone you that you know.

In mid-March, we had an issue with our AC unit not cooling properly. Larry was quick to respond and added freon. A few weeks later, the same problem - so we called him again. He added more freon and suggested that there was either a leak or the AC unit wasn't big enough to handle the house square footage. We've only had the unit for 4 years and told him that - so he said there was probably a leak and "investigated". He was unable to find a leak in the coil, etc., so he determined that the leak was most likely UNDER the foundation and was inaccessible. That meant we had to install new copper lines to re-route the system. That cost us $1250.00. Several days later, same problem - it wasn't cooling. He again suggested a new unit and never mentioned that given the age of the unit - that it might still be under warranty. (We hadn't thought of that). He did return several times to add more freon but soon, stopped responding, saying he was busy with other customers. I told him that he had $1250 of OUR money and WE had no AC and so, we should be high on the list of his priority. He didn't respond or return to work on the unit further. We then called the man in Vero Beach who had sold us the unit. He immediately made a service call and FOUND the leak within 5-10 minutes. Because the unit WAS still under warranty - a 10 year warranty, actually - the actual repair only cost $300.00. He also said it was HIGHLY unlikely that there were TWO leaks and even more unlikely that there was a leak under the foundation. Larry apparently saw us as an elderly couple, living in a nice house and looking like we had a little money and he tried to take advantage of us. Subsequently, he has refused all communication - including a certified letter. As we prepare to file a small claims lawsuit against him, we've discovered that he is NOT licensed and that Brevard County issued several citation to him last year. They knew right away who he was and offered to supply an affidavit regarding the citations. The Planning and Development Department at the Courthouse suggested we report him to the state as operating without a license. I'm in the process of doing that, notifying the BBB as well as filing a suit in small claims court. An update: when I called the State to report him for operating without a license, I discovered that a complaint had been filed against him in February of this year. On July 31, 2015, he was given an order to "Cease and Desist". He obviously has not complied....when our attorney contacted him yesterday (8/24/15) under the guise of a customer (so we could ascertain his last name), he answered the phone, gave information as to how much his service calls were, etc. Hes obviously still conducting business without a license. His invoices list him as having a corporation but when we checked for his overall information on SunBiz, we found he was NOT listed...
