They did not use the paint I ask for, Behrs. I cant even wash it without paint coming off. Crown moldings seams not done right, didn't meet up and all seams showed. Splashes of paint throughout the house ( wood furniture n floors and glass table tops ). Took them a year and a half to correct the problem, which still wasn't good, and that was only because I turned them over to Better Business Bureau. You can never get anyone to call you back. I even talked to the father, owner of the company, and he was no better at getting anything to happen. This is a very poor company with bad quality work. If I could put on a billboard not to hire this company I would...... very very very bad work.

They brought in a crew that covered the whole condo in plastic and were able to do the whole job in one day. They started a little later than scheduled but managed to finish within time frame. They did come back for some retouching till we were satisfied.

Vincent came on the 12th of Jan for an estimate, was professional and pleasant to deal with, knowledgeable and fair with pricing. His crew showed up on the 13th in mid afternoon and completed the work as described. A pleasure dealing with Stevens and Sons!

After scraping down the popcorn, NO primer was applied prior to application of the knock-down texture as proposed. Knock-down was applied and painted while wet with oil base paint. Within 2 months knock-down was falling off ceiling. Called to complain many times and no answer or returned call. Finally call returned by Vinnie and was so rude I couldn't believe it. Second repair completed October 2014. I requested a written copy of the warranty and never got one. BEWARE. THEY DON'T DO WHAT THEY CONTRACT TO DO!!!!!

They were the only company that could texture the wall without sanding it first. It turned out just beautifully. They were just fantastic on everything.

Very neat and tidy. Used plastic sheeting to isolate mess. Quick and efficient once work started. For him it was a small job. For us it was major. Finished work gets an excellent rating.

Provided estimate on the day I contacted them. Very thorough process and explained in a clear & concise manner. I delayed the work several times; reason further below. The complete job was done in one day. This is a 2/2 condo, 1300 sf. All popcorn was removed, new ceiling finish applied and painted in one day. They did return the next day for some touch up work. Work was very professional, finished product look great. If you're looking to have popcorn removed in a very short period of time and want a quality job, this team can accomplish it. This job was in a large condo complex and there were no issues with neighbors, association etc. Workers understand the constraints of condos and work within the rules. Also, all the team members were very easy to talk with and they take a lot of effort to get all the details clarified before starting. This was an occupied unit. There was not one issue with furniture or any items in the condo. Only requirement of us, was to move fragile items to a safe location. They take care of large items like TVs, but small knickknacks need to be taken care of by the home owner. Other than that, they do everything; even the window treatments. One note, I kept delaying or not scheduling this project due to estimated completion time. The company kept saying this job would be done in one day. I had received 4 other quotes; all in the same price range. All the other quotes said this was a 5-7 day job. Frankly, I just didn't believe them. I thought the one day was a sales tactic and once started, some excuse would come up to delay the completion time estimate. I just wasn't ready to live through this process for that time and had decided to just live with the popcorn. Stevens was patient with me and kept saying they can get it done in a day. I was at the point in my renovation that either I needed to have it done now or just not have it done. Decided to give Stevens a chance to prove that their promise was correct. Well, glad I didn't bet money against them. Sure enough, they arrived at 9:30 and were gone around 7. I had so little confidence that this project could get done, I had made a hotel reservation. These guys really do understand what it means to be living in the middle of a rehab. Their pricing is a bit higher than some other by a hundred or so, but the aggravation and time saved by their one day time frame sure make the price a value.

They came one time and seemed like they wanted to do the job, but they never scheduled it.

These guys were super responsive. Gave an estimate one day and were out to work on the project the next day. We had to wait a few days for one of the crews to be ready but it all went quicker than we'd imagined. We thought they were a little pricey for the work completed, however, we feel like it was quality work and they've done some other work for our parents, so we felt good about using them.

Avoid this firm at all costs. The son provided the estimate and does not appear to have the work ethic of the father. I had to practically beg them to come give me an estimate. I had to then do the same to finally show up and have the work done. They sent unskilled labor that had no idea what they were doing. They did not provide the service agreed-upon. I called to complain but got no response until I called the credit card company. Even then, the son threatened to "report" my house as moldy. I hesitate to give more details because the son was so intimidating and I am contemplating litigation. The problem which they "fixed" is no better than it was before. Beware -- it seems not all the good reviews on Angie's are accurate.

I admit, the job was a bit trickier than a regular house as they were painting over wall paper and had to deal with the oddities of a mobile home. They were nice enough guys but definitely not what I would consider "professional". The project manager was nice and professional but really busy and never came by the house again after the initial estimate, although he did return my phone calls within a day. The work was ok, some parts look like they didn't take their time and missed some things and one room could have used some more paint. That being said, the majority of the house does look great, the paint they used was good stuff and they used a sprayer so it was super quick and the finish looks really nice. The stuff that looks poor was the rushed, hand painted stuff, which was only a small area of the house. Also, when they were finished, I asked them to touch up places I thought needed some more attention and they did it with no problem. And the cost was awesome. The whole job was done for almost the cost of what I would have paid in materials (Maybe 200-400 dollars more) and that was definitely worth it. For the price and the time they did it in (2.5 days for 1000 sq ft mobile home), it was definitely worth it. If you want a perfect, high-end paint job, go elsewhere ( and pay for it). If you want a good paint job at a great price, they are the place to go.

**DO NOT HIRE** VINCENT showed up promptly for the initial consult. He was very friendly and informative and we agreed on price and that the work would be done on the following Tuesday. We were on a very tight schedule for cabinets and tile work to follow. We ended up being ready for drywall early so we called Vinny on Sunday to see if work could be done Monday. He was very happy to oblige. Workers showed up Monday to install drywall without any drywall so they left. They returned Tuesday after a phone call and installed drywall. No finishing work had been done. No one showed up that day or the next morning so I had to call again. I spoke with Joseph and he said he would have Vinny call me with a time the workers would show. I never got a call and no one showed up. Thursday morning we spoke with Vinnie again and he said his workers would arrive later that day. Later that day meant after 5 pm apparently. After trying to call and getting a full voicemail I called Joseph and told him we had another contractor scheduled to come in the next morning at 7am and that his services were no longer needed. Vinny called back immediately and told me he would be there at 7:30 to make sure the new drywall crew did it right. I asked him WHY I would want my FIRED drywall guy to tell my new drywall guy how to do his job?? He told me he couldn't fire him. He said he was going to show up with the police. We said fine, we will be home in the afternoon around 2pm. He showed up at 7:30am with the sheriff attempting to stop work. The sheriff that he brought with him ended up telling him to leave the property. A few hours later the county inspector showed up on an anonymous tip that we were doing construction without permits. We were not. County inspector closed the case within 5 minutes.

We called Vincent Stevens and he came right over to meet us the next day to give us an estimate . . . he was very informative and thorugh and strived to meet our needs. The job began the next day. They began with the living/dining room areas and because it looked so good we decided to do the rest of the house with the exception of the bathrooms (only because we don't have popcorn ceilings in either one). The crew that did the "knockdown" for us was punctual, very friendly and cleaned up afterwards. The only issue we had were with the painter's because they were late getting here. Although it was in the afternoon when they arrived there were four gentlemen and they were able to complete the job that day. They also were very personable and cleaned up afterwards. We are very pleased with the final results and have had friends ask for the name and phone number of the contractor. We will definitely call Joseph Stevens and Sons Painting for our future needs.

Arrived on time. Worked straight through. Professional. Quality of paint used and workmanship was excellent.

The experience was good. They did what they said they would do and they got it done when they said they would. They didn’t show up quite on time one of the days.

Stevens did a great job in less than a week. All concerns were addressed and fixed to my satisfaction. The house looks like brand new inside!

Vincent Stevens showed up at my place 2/26/2013 and gave me an estimate that I already knew was pretty fair after talking it over with a few friends (one is a professional painter for years up North). They started 3/1/2013 as promised cocooning the entire place with plastic and removed the filthy popcorn ceiling. The ceiling was refinished with an outstanding knock-down texture, sealed, and allowed to dry through Sunday. Vince's crew showed up Monday and proceeded to finish the walls and garage floor and finished by Wednesday. Then, I walked through and pointed out a few things missed which were immediately fixed. I walked through again Friday and found everything in great shape! I cleaned the next day (typical dust, but not bad!) and I'm currently moving in. I can't believe my luck with my first house and major contractor! The house looked great on the outside, but the interior was very dark and dated. Now the place is a showhouse...especially inside!! I couldn't be more pleased with their service provided, so if you're allowed to contact me then please don't hesitate.

They did a pretty good job. They arrived on time, and they pretty much cleaned up. We used them twice. Their service were better the first time than the second.

. I contacted Joseph Stephens on 2/1/2013 inquiring about an estimate for popcorn ceiling knockdown. Mr. Stephens seemed enthusiastic and promised that his son would call me back presently to set up an estimate. It never happened! I had a contract with another vendor the next day. Don't waste your time Stephens.

We contacted Joseph Stevens and sons last July before we purchased our new home. We wanted an estimate to remove the popcorn ceiling and knockdown the ceiling. The price was extremely reasonable and they had done work at a family member's home. We closed on our home and as promised, they were ready to do the work the next day. I don't think they realized the extent of the job. We were told 2 maybe 3 days, and the job took almost 2 weeks. We asked them to use Behr ceiling paint since we had used it in our previous home and had always had great luck with it. The ceiling had a blue tint to it, and we were told that they had to water the paint down to work with their sprayers. They wound up repainting with a different paint. Since the job took so long, when it came time to remove the painter's tape, the paint came off with it. They agreed to paint our 2 story entry way for $100. When I tried to schedule them to come back in to paint, I was told by Jeff that he "had to check his schedule and would get back to me". This went on for almost a year and a half. Every time I called, he claimed not to remember who I was until I "refreshed" his memory, and he always said he would get back to me. My calls were never returned. Three weeks before Thanksgiving, my husband decided to give it a try. My husband told him that we were having company for Thanksgiving and we really needed to have the painting done before. It was 1 room. He promised that he would get back to him and have it done before Thanksgiving. By the Monday before Thanksgiving, we still had not heard back so I called again. I told Jeff that this had been going on for too long and I wasn't going to hang up until we had a date scheduled. He scheduled his guys for November 30th. Two men showed up on time at 9:00 am, they were done painting the room by 12:30. They asked for a check for $140, I told them that we had agreed on $100. I called Jeff to confirm with him and after months of him not even remembering who I was, he said that we had agreed upon $140. I told him that wasn't the amount we settled on. Jeff became very nasty and told me he would take $100, but to never call him again, and hung up on me. We were happy with the finished product, but the customer service was beyond disappointing. To have a job unfinished for 16 months is unacceptable, especially when it would have only taken 3 more hours of his time to have it completed. The fact that my calls were hardly ever returned was very frustrating, and I was amazed that when I did speak with him, he couldn't remember the job or my name, but he was adamant about agreeing to $140. It was the unprofessional behavior displayed by Jeff that has made me unable to recommend this company to anyone.

We had a generally good experience. The staff was very friendly, but I did have difficulty having my calls returned when we initially set up the estimate. The quality of the painting was good.

Overall, this was a very positive experience.
