Description of Work: LIAR, CHEAT, SCAM ARTIST. DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE TO WHAT HE SAYS HE IS DOING. CON ARTIST ANDREW MARCUM IS HIS NAME. MELBOURNE. SCAMMED ME FOR OVER $1500 AND I STILL CANNOT USE THE SHOWER HE NEVER FINISHED OVER A YEAR AGO!

Description of Work: SCAMMED ME. COSTING ME OVER $2500. Contracted to renovate bathroom on August 7, 2012. As of Oct 24, 2014 never completed job. Paid over $1500 cash plus materials. Won't return calls. Want refund so I can hire someone to fix. Andrew Gene Marcum Handy Andy Handyman Services advertises as licensed and insured. No valid license since Oct 2012. No insurance! Correct address 1556 Creel Road, Palm Bay, Fl 32905. Hired him on Aug 7 to renovate a bathroom for my Granddaughter. I paid him a $700 cash deposit(have receipt) to start job. Tear out tub, install a tile shower, shower handle and shower head, shower door and door to outside. He worked 2 days and didn't see him for weeks. Wouldn't answer or return my calls until he needed more money. He has made one excuse after the other for not showing up to work, dying mother in Pa for over 2 weeks, sick grand babies, in Ft Lauderdale, he even fell out of a tree! I paid him extra money for miscellaneous work totaling over $1500 all cash. I have another receipt for $400 cash. He never finished the job. Left me with a shower I could not use! I could not install shower head, tiled too close to pipe in wall. I had to tear out tile to screw it in. Didn't set box for shower handle to attach handle to, set copper pipe too far out to properly attach handle and tiled up to copper pipe leaving no way to attach handle. Set drain ABOVE floor of the shower. Grouted over broken tile. Floor has hollow tiles. Worse tile job I have ever seen. Tried to countersink the hinges on my shower door and left it falling off the wall, butchered the plastic seals ( I paid $250 for the shower door) and now I have to buy replacement parts to make it watertight. Sill holds water and runs on to floor. Never finished installing back door. He didn't run tile to ceiling in shower stall. Installed a light and fan, never vented it to the outside goes to attic, left exposed wires IN SHOWER STALL. And the list goes on and on.. Not attentive at all once he has your money. He will not return calls or show up for work. The quality of work is beyond horrible. He will lowball a price to suck you in and then add other things on to get more money out of you. I am 67 years old and on a limited income. He made unauthorized purchases on my credit card. I had surgery and could not go to Lowes with him for parts? when the clerk called me, I gave her my credit card number. When I finally after several requests got receipts from him, I checked them and found his unauthorized purchases added to my card. I have had 3 other licensed handymen look at it. They have all told me it cannot be fixed unless it is all tore out and done right. I have, in this case also lost around $1000 in materials that I paid for in addition to the $1500 I paid him.
