Aqua Source Well Drilling

Aqua source originally installed my irrigation well in Melbourne (by the home builder) about 5 years ago. We started getting heavy sediment and clogging up the filters. I contacted them and they were very nice and came out the next day. Turns out they just needed to pump the well out a bit and the problem cleared up. It is a family run business, and they were really nice to deal with. Highly recommend them.

On scheduled day two men came out and started well installation. First, they had to seal abandoned well that had started drawing up much sand after the outside casing had ruptured by plugging with concrete. They then started the drilling process which was different than the other drillers had done. They sank a 2 1/2 inch PVC pipe instead of a galvanized steel pipe casing which is the usual way of sinking a well. The abandoned well had also a PVC inner pipe that drew up the water from the aquifer. Since they needed only one pipe to the aquifer there was no need for an inner pipe. The drilling process utilized mostly water pressure to remove the sand and other material from the well. The PVC pipe was not driven down with pile driver type equipment as the old well was drilled. The pile driver system possibly stressed the steel pipe which later ruptured permitting sand to get into the well which was only three years old. After hooking up the well to the pump and turning it on it was obvious that the well was producing much more water than the old well that was only a 2 inch pipe. Very little lime rock came up to be trapped in the sand filter, and to this day, December 1, this is still the case. I am very satisfied with this installation, and the water is flowing nicely. I even have been able to combine watering zones cutting down on the time the pump has to run because so much more water is brought up.
