Description of Work: A best installed my unit 3 years ago and it has been problematic for 2 of those three years. Had several service calls because the outside unit will not come on. Multiple parts have been replaced. Three days ago I had to request yet another service call. This time I asked for a new technician. A delay was changed and he even said he did not understand why the old delay was set to such a long delay. Well it is Saturday and yes the AC is not coming on again. I called and was told only warranty work was done Mon through Friday and if someone came out it would be a 59 dollar service charge even though they were just here to fix this problem and obviously didn't fix it. I debated just calling another provider. I didn't but this will probably be the last time I use them.

Description of Work: Air handler (inside unit) for air conditioner stopped working. Technician performed troubleshooting and diagnosed a faulty motor. He replaced motor and cleaned and conditioned the unit, both inside and outside.

+ -1 moreMy outside unit would not come on when the internal unit came on. I replaced the inside capacitor myself for $17 but still didn't work. Called A-Best where I originally got the part and had a repair man come out. He checked internally and said everything was fine. Outside is another capacitor and start kit which were bad. These parts cost about $70 max if bought alone. I was charged a $39.95 service call which is fair but the overall price was $290. That leaves $180 for mark up on the parts plus labor. This is a RIP OFF plain and simple. The job took less than 30 minutes inside and out.
Description of Work: Replaced Capacitor and Hard Start Kit on outside unit, checked over internal unit, checked pressure.

+ -1 moreThey are excellent. The owner came on a Sunday because I pleaded. It cost a little extra but I can’t tolerate heat so its fine with me. He could have told me that I need a new machine but he worked to fix it; their philosophy is don’t fix it if it isn’t broken.
Description of Work: A-Best Air & Heat came a few weeks ago when part of my compressor blew out.

+ 0 moreMy system needed to be serviced on a Friday (Murphy's Law) and they were able to respond within an hour since they are located in Palm Bay. This company wasn't my first choice, I have had good service from another contractor but they were booked for the afternoon. I took a chance using them but it worked out well, I chose them by proximity to my house and no bad report on Angies. The tech, Jeremy, was quick to arrive, courteous, knowledgeable, and neat when he got here. He didn't seem to look to replace things that didn't need to be replaced, and passed on some maintenance tips to keep the a/c healthy. After the repair he suggested some add on items, a uv antibacterial filter and surge protection but no hard sell, just info. Overall a nice young fella and good rep for this company that has been in business a lot of years. I'd use them again.
Description of Work: System was not cooling. Jeremy examined the thermostat, inside and outside units. He examined the inside fan/coil unit and said it looked great. Also the condensate drain was examined. When he checked the outside unit a bad relay was found. He had the replacement part on the truck and within an hour had removed and replaced the faulty relay and put system back online. After the outside unit was working again he tested the compressor to see that the coolant pressures were normal.

Description of Work: We have been using them for quite awhile. I thought there might have been a problem with our air conditioning. They came out for a yearly checkup and checked everything out, and they gave us a clean bill of health.
