Monday morning came and no one showed up until 9 a.m. and it was only one man. He was to remove the popcorn ceiling, wrap our leather furniture and move it himself. He couldn't accomplish this on his own so my wife and I assisted him. He ended up calling his boss (the owner of the company) that day to say he needed help. Our furniture was not wrapped well and it ended up with plaster on it so it was decided to move it to the garage. For the next four days we had two to three men at our house daily. Tuesday they showed up at 8:30 and took a 2 hour lunch. Friday the owner left and took one of his workers with him to tow his personal vehicle for 4 hours. That left two workers at our house. They did work on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday but needless to say they were no where near being done. If they hadn't had wasted so many hours the week before, they would have been able to accomplish the job. On Monday, once I could get back into my house, I noticed they had gauged my bamboo floors and chipped my granite countertops.I asked the owner for his bond insurance information and he is refusing to give it to me and I that point our contract was terminated and the work was only 75% completed. It is my fault for not asking for it up front as I feel he may not have any and I am now out of pocket for the damage his crew did to my house. Something else to note about this company. As I was going through the house with the owner of this company and I noticed he had not painted the spindles on the stairwell or had missed some of the caulking of the basedboards (which were all stated in the contract to be completed) he tried to state that that was not included in the contract, which he didn't have on him (conveniently) at the time, but I had my copy. Also, his contracts are not written specific enough, which unfortunately, I found out. He writes things like "as discussed" but then throws that back in your face and says we never discussed that. So, "buyer beware". Some of the work they did was quality but definitely not worth everything else we had to go through. I should have checked his bond information and references up front and I also should have had a better, more detailed contract.
