It has gone great!!! Dakota and his team are quick to respond, fair, and courteous. I would strongly recommend their service.

From the onset of the quote process, Dakota had to reschedule or change argeed upon meeting times at least 3x's. Which made us a littler leery from the get go, but once meeting him, he was very personable and seemed to know what he was talking about. His original quote was much higher than we wanted to spend and we asked him if there was some way to adjust what his thoughts were for our yard (as we gave him full creative rein) to scale the price back about $1000. He came back out, listened to our ideas and recalculated his materials and cost - this time making the price $500 less than the original, while we weren't keen on the pricing - we agreed to the new pricing and inquired about using the coupon he has here on Angie's List. He told us that he didn't authorize the coupon on Angies' List and therefore we were not able to use it. Hmmm....not good. Again, he was personable enough and we still believed he knew what he was talking about. He came out two days later to spray or kill off the existing grass that was out front and said he would return in one week to begin the work. Almost two weeks later (2 days shy of 2 wks) he contacted us to say he would be out that Friday to begin work and he did. He and his helper began working on the yard at about 9:45am - they left at noon to pick up the sod we had decided to add to the project and returned at 3:45pm. Once they had returned Dakota took a good look at the area that was to be sodded and concluded that the pallet "may" not be enough to cover the entire area, so he made adjustments to his original plan and cut an area by the mailbox and used sand instead of sod (see pictures attached) when all was said and done, there was still not enough sod to cover the area he calculated it would cover - he left us with a 10' x 3' area without sod. We didn't say anything at the time, though disappointed, as it appeared he had no plans on adding any more sod to the area without charging us for another 1/4 pallet. Keep in mind we were not the ones doing the calculations for this job, he was. Once he was done with the project, we noticed the sand was a bit thin in areas, showing the wires for the landscape lights we added and just not as thick as the areas that were done prior to him doing this job. We did not say anything until 3 days later when we noticed weeds ALREADY coming up through the sand (see photos). Dakota came out and sprayed them with round up, but did not say anything about adding more sand even after we inquired. We waited a couple days more and contacted him again asking if he planned to make this right and add more sand to the areas, his reply was "for $80 more a yard I will". We were stunned. He obviously miscalculated the sod AND the sand he would need for the job and was not going to do right by adding the materials HE miscalculated - without us coming out of pocket more. Extremely disappointed in him and the job he did. We now have to hire another company to come make it right as we're certainly not going to give him another dime with the treatment we received. We know exactly what he paid for the materials he used on our property AND the profit he made on the job as well, shame on you Dakota, shame on you.

So far so good. Showed up on time, gave me quotes on the spot. Some were high, some were very good, so I will use them for some jobs and not others. The first thing though was a complete mow/edge/trim, and they overdelivered, doing much more than expected for a fair price. I am very encouraged and will continue to have them mow regularly, and do some of the projects they quoted.

Dakota did a great job. Came out, gave a very thorough recommendation. Arrived on time, completed the job in two days (one for removal and another for installation) and the yard looks great now. He and his team installed over 100 trees/bushes plus laid the pine bark. So happy with the job we hired Southern Brothers for our regular yard work.
