 + -1 moreOur contract specified 200 days for construction, and as of this writing we are at 472 days. We were told by L & R's references that while they are inexpensive, they will take a long time. We were prepared for something in excess of the 200 days, but at this point (472 days) it has become abusive. The hardwood floor L & R installed is peeling up (cupping) and we now have two independent reports stating that it was due to bad installation. No response from L & R. We have filed with the BBB, the FL state's attorney's office and the DPBR in addition hiring a lawyer and initiating a lawsuit to force L & R repair the damage and complete the project or else provide a substantial refund. We strongly recommend against using Lorenzana and Ream. Additionally the owner, Alex Lorenzana, became VERY difficult to get a hold of and even harder to communicate with once things clearly got out of hand. We felt he became offensive and once engaged in a screaming match with my very pregnant wife.
Description of Work: We added a 2200 sq. ft. addition on to our existing residence. L & R took our design, drew it up, and had the plans approved. They built a two story addition on the back of our existing one story house. As far as the work, well, we call it our Dr. Seuss house because there are very few right angles or straight lines due to (we believe) poor construction on the part of L & R. A correction notice was recently posted that included a demand to replace at least 2 of the 3 installed staircases for not meeting code, and the entire railing around our upstairs deck for being unsafe. The construction is not yet finished even though it is almost 150% over the time permitted in the contract. Our water heater is sitting outside in the yard, uninsulated, which caused us to receive a $400 electric bill for January. Two "insta-hot" water heaters were supposed to be installed, per the contract, but our builder has only installed one (which doesn't work), so we have inconsistent hot water.

 + -1 moreTHE GUY THAT OVERSAW THE WORK BEING DONE WAS A NICE MAN. WHEN HE TOLD HIS HELP HOW TO DO SOMETHING THEY KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT AND DID IT RIGHT AWAY. THEY WERE COMPETITIVELY PRICED. THEY BUILT OUR HOUSE FIVE YEARS AGO AND GAVE US A DEAL.
Description of Work: IT WAS GROUT WORK AND TILE FOR THE KITCHEN AND THE LIVING ROOM.
