+ -1 moreKevin happened to be nearby when I placed the call for a quote to do the work. He arrived at the door within 20 minutes. After reading several reviews, I had an idea of what the job should cost. Kevin's quote was right in the range. After a couple of days we got an appointment scheduled. The four man team arrived ahead of schedule and had the job done within an hour. I wasn't home but my wife said they were in and out and she hardly noticed. They did a nice job of cleaning up.
Description of Work: Cut down one 30 ft palm tree, ground stump and trimmed two other trees in the front yard of my house.

They explained everything to me at length, and then did a superb job in thinning out and shoring up my tree. Because it's a tree that survived multiple hurricanes and provides shade, I wanted to preserve it, but make sure it was healthy and safe for the neighborhood. + -1 moreUpon making contact with Kevin he came out the same day and issued a quote for the work. While we were not home he was able to quote the job and left a packet of information with the quote include proof of insurance and information about his services. We had looked at two other companies but chose to go with Kevin's Tree Service based on the reviews on Angie's List and the price he quoted. After accepting his quote and sending it back they came to do the job in just a few days. They arrived around 8:30 AM and left around 12:30 PM and during that time they accomplished the entire job, accommodated the fact that their was a septic tank drainfield in the way and avoided using any heavy machinery on it and they removed three additional tree stumps at a very reasonable add-on price. Upon completion of the job they did a great job cleaning up the entire yard and the street to ensure that it was just like when they arrived. We were very pleased with Kevin's service and would highly recommend him.

+ -1 moreOriginally they were scheduled to arrive between 1 and 2pm. Kevin called a little before 2 and said that one of his crew had to go home because he was ill, so Kevin had to juggle things and said the crew would be delayed an hour or so. They set to work and work they did! They were extremely professional - very serious about their work. Their supervisor made some corrections to their work and was like a drill sergeant. I was concerned about limbs falling into the neighbors' yards. It turns out they had spoken to both neighbor in advance. There was a glitch regarding a couple of limbs over our shed. We discovered it as they were packing up. The supervisor was peeved but got his crew to handle these limbs and they did. It was getting dark and I was worried but they were fine and finished the job. The only casualty was our neighbor's orchids. They worked in a relatively tight space. They were a well-orchestrated team. The price was considerably less than other tree service company's bids.
Description of Work: Removed large camphor tree and took several large limbs off another. Ground stump; Cleaned up yard and cleaned and removed wood and stuff from neighbors' yards.

As the work progressed they communicated with me to be certain they were doing the work the way I wanted it done. The work was completed quickly and they did a very good job cleaning up after themselves. The work was done for the estimated price. I will definitely use this company again as the need arises.

Description of Work: I phoned to get an estimate on the removal of 2 palm trees. Kevin came 2 days later to my neighborhood which is a gated community. We have a front and back gate. The front gate is for all residents AND visitors because there is usually a call box. I say usually because currently the gates are wide open due to someone running into the call box. The back gate has no call box and can only be accessed by residents. I made no mention of there being a code to enter because of the front gate being wide open. Anyway, Kevin went to the back gate and he couldn't get in. There is a clear sign posted that this entrance is for residents and the other one is on Rouse Rd/McCulloch Rd. He phoned and left a very rude message stating that "It would be nice if you had left a code to get in". I phoned to tell him not to bother anymore since he was very unprofessional on the message he left . He did call back and "apologize" for being rude. However his apology was in and of itself rude stating that he gets calls from "these people in gated communities who don't leave codes and then expect him to get in to give an estimate." Needless to say he lost my business. By the way, his estimate, which he must have done when he realized how to get in the neighborhood, was 2 to 3 times HIGHER than other estimates.

Description of Work: he trimmed our neighbors tree that was on my side of the fence and it was consuming my yard. They cut all the branches on the tree that impacted my yard, they were so big they were almost touching the roof of my house. Also they cleared away a vine that was consuming my yard.

They were a little bit higher but we liked Kevin and he came out specifically and we liked what he had to tell us and his knowledge and everything.

+ -1 moreTo begin with, Kevin's prices were the best around. I had multiple companies provide me with estimates, and Kevin easily beat them from the start. I saved a minimum of $500 by working with Kevin. Kevin and his crew arrived promptly on the scheduled day of service and quickly got to work. They took multiple precautions to ensure that none of my property (or my neighbor's property) would be damaged during the work. They worked quickly and efficiently, and if not for multiple thunderstorms, they would have been done in a matter of hours. However, as a result of the storms, they were forced to take a few unscheduled breaks. Despite the weather slow downs, they completed the work that same day because they were willing to stick around until nearly sunset. Our property was left in immaculate condition, all outdoor furniture was placed back into its original position, all of the debris was raked up and removed, and they even took the time to use our leaf skimmer to ensure that not a single leaf or piece of debris was left in our pool. I intend to use Kevin's Tree Service for all of my future tree trimming/removal needs. In addition, I will not hesitate to refer them to friends and family.

+ -1 moreI had called on a Monday concerning a dead tree that was close to the house and Kevin stopped by the next morning to take a look at it. He quoted me $350 to remove the tree. We also had him give us a quote to remove a large leader limb from a tree over our pool. He told us that the work would be done in a couple of weeks due to his work load, but that he would try our dead tree removed more quickly than that because of it's condition. Two days later they called and said they would be by late that morning to remove the dead tree. The tree was removed with no problems and I was impressed with the professionalism and skill of his workers in taking the tree down. I will certainly be using Kevin's Tree Service again in the future.

+ -1 moreAfter calling to set up and appointment, Kevin came and gave me an estimate. He showed up on time and showed me exactly what would be done (which limbs would be removed to make the two oak trees look better and be ready for the upcoming hurricane season. He gave me an estimate that was in our budget/ They called me back quickly and we were able to schedule a date to get the work performed. They scheduled for between noon and 2 PM and i was told that they would take @ two hours. The crew showed up at noon and got right to work. They verified again what was to be done and was hard at it immediately. I had a tree in the front yard and one in the back. The crew split in two and were working both trees at the same. They trimmed up both trees, insuring that none of the limbs landed on the shed, house or fence. They cleaned up after themselves and made the yard look as good as before they started, if not better. They made sure I was happy with the work done and if I had any requests, they made sure to handle them to my satisfaction. The crew was fast and efficient. They completed the job in less than an hour. The wife and I were completely satisfied with the work performed and would recommend them to to anyone needing tree service.

+ -1 moreEverything went great! Kevin provided the estimate on-site - he was very knowledgeable and thorough in his assessment of what needed to be done (and what didn't). When the time came to do the job the crew showed up on-time and in force! They performed all services quickly and efficiently; and cleaned up the mess afterward. Aside from the removed and trimmed trees, I couldn't even tell they had been there. The crew was professional and took every care in ensuring nothing touched the house, roof, or screened pool enclosure during the job. My neighbor even commented that Kevin's Tree Service did a much better job than "the guy he had previously used" before. Pricing was reasonable (especially seeing the finished product) and the professionalism and efficiency of the crew was unparalelled. On top of it all, I received a "thank you" card in the mail several days later thanking me for my business. Nice touch... and job well done! Description of Work: Called and talked directly to Kevin about grinding/removing a tree stump. He was very professional on the phone and said he had a guy in the area that could give me an estimate that afternoon. He called me back that afternoon as promise with his estimate. He gave me a price that we agreed on and he removed the stump that afternoon after the initial call that morning. They even had to remove a small section of fencing to get to the stump, which they did and replaced with no problem. Very fast, friendly, professional service.

They cut down one large cherry laurel, several large branches and thinned out oaks and cut back bushes on the house. They were quick but careful and left the property relatively clean. They did leave 2 smaller trees we discussed for the original bid but we hope to get them at a later time when they come back and work on the other side of our property.
Description of Work: The crew from Kevin's Tree Service removed several trees (2) from our property and trimmed serveral others away from our pool screen and house.
