We have fully stocked trucks for installation, service and light commercial air conditioning projects. We also provide monthly service maintenance for commercial customers, as well as annual maintenance for residential customers. Our service department is computerized in order to provide technicians with any additional information they may need from previous service calls. Additionally, all technicians are radio dispatched so we can provide our customers with the fastest possible response times. On 7/22/2015 I had the usual Summer service, and it was found I had rust in the air handler, and there was a Freon leak, and the outside main unit had parts that were ready to go, so a whole new HVAC was needed. It was put in today, and the two fellows that did the job were very good, efficient, and cleaned up afterward. I have been a client of American Air and Heat for many years, and keep up with the service contract which brought the cost down a little. I didn't see a need to get other estimates since I have been with American Air and Heat for I am guessing probably 25 - 30 years or more.
Their service techs are always good, and happy to pat the little dogs, and just very personable. I haven't had any issues with being uncomfortable with them or feeling like they were anything but very honest and trustworthy. Being a widow, and a senior that is very important. They call to remind you of the appointment, and then to let you know they are on their way, and that is helpful.

we just paid someone to give us a quote on a new air system.
There was no service done!
He suggested and quoted a system that he said was best deal for a contractor system a better system would run up to Ten thousand dollars.
We contacted another company who came out at no cost to us and walked us through the best type of system for our needs and gave us a better price for a better system and with no pressure. There was pushing us to find financing and they were willing to wait until we were ready. they also stated that they would pull the proper permits and apply for any additional rebates if available.
American representative said we didn' t need a permit and did not mention rebates available. We also were given a discount because I am a school teacher.
I would not recommend American Air and Heat based on our experience
"Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. According to the recording of our phone conversation with you, we were called to your home because your unit had stopped cooling, not for an annual inspection. The $90 that you paid is our standard diagnostic fee. That is what we charge to send a factory trained, background checked and drug tested service technician to your home to do a thorough diagnosis of your entire air conditioning system. Our technician performed a full diagnosis of your 14 year old air conditioning system and recommended that you consider replacing it because of the multiple problems that he found. It certainly appears that you agreed with his assessment, because you attempted to secure financing through our lender for the new air conditioning system that he recommended. Additionally, we permit all of our work as required by law and the statement that our technician told you that you don’t need one does not make sense, because it’s included in the price of all of our installations. I fail to see what we have done to warrant this complaint; we did exactly what you asked us to do. I will concede that you likely found a lower price than what we offered you, but we believe in providing the best value, not the lowest price. In the several days that passed from the time of your appointment until the time of this review; there had been no communication from you to indicate that there was a problem. We would have been happy to work with you to make sure you were satisfied with what we had done, but we did not get that opportunity. I left a message for you at the number that we have on file. We have a maintence contract with them where they come and check out our units. We have had visit scheduled twice now which they have called and cancelled the day before. We ask for a 8:00 appointment as we both work. On both occasions they have called the afternoon before and said they have to reschedule because an "emergency meeting" has been called. Then they they'll us they can see us between 9-12. We can't do that. How many emergency meetings do they have? Forget about arranging a Saturday appointment. We have now rescheduled for a 3rd time. There was no consideration that they were canceling a appointment..
My problem is this is a maintenance contract we already paid for. Could that be it, they will not make any money on us.
Well we have 2 units and will need to replace the other and we will think long and hard before calling them.
Very unprofessional. Could they have changed management? Not sure what is happening but very disappointed. Not the same company.
That being said the work they did when putting in the new AC was very good and they were clean courteous and very professional. We were very happy with that work.
Wonder if maintenance work is handled under different management.

One more think when I first start this processes their listing on Angie list was not a A I do not know if every year the restart new.

We have been regular customers of American Air and Heat for around 20 years and have found them to be reliable and friendly folks who stand behind their work. I recommend them without reservation.
Jason, the technician arrived on time and performed the periodic maintenance. He showed mt the inside unit and how much mold was surrounding all the vital parts including the blower and the coils. After seeing all of that I decided it was time to replace the system. I need to do this for a few reasons. One was that my existing system is working, but it's on borrowed time. Another major factor is that we are breathing unclean air and I am concerned about quality of life.
We sat down and looked at all my options and financing and we agreed on getting the system replaced. I was so excited that Angies List offered a $150 discount coupon off A/C installation. Thank You Angies List! Also, the cost of the service call was waived because I am having a new A/C unit installed. I will be writing another review soon after the new system is installed and running for a little while. Stay tuned for the next review.
