My experience has been very good with them as they come every year to test the equipment in my house. They always send their card first before they come to check everything. They do a thorough job and are really good. They got to their work immediately when I had called them for the installation work. They are organized, courteous and understanding.

The overall experience was great! From Ernie giving us the estimate to when Mike M. and Matt L. performed the installation. Our installation not only included the Carrier HVAC units but also the addition of 3 return ducts, the removal of the old plenum, and installing a new one. The work was performed in one day whereas other contractors quoted 1 1/2 day to complete the project. Mike and Matt stayed until after 8:00 pm on a Friday to complete the project. Great job guys! I will recommend American Air & Heat to everyone who inquires.

Ernie came to our home and explained the recommended scope of work in detail and gave us a proposal while he was there. After reviewing four quotes we decided to accept American's proposal. A mutually agreeable day was scheduled for the implementation. Two employees, Matt and Bob, arrived in the early morning as scheduled. They completed the entire scope of work in the quoted timeframe and left the work areas in excellent condition. I would strongly recommend them to anyone for heat pump replacements. Matt and Bob did an excellent job.

Overall wonderful experience and would definitely recommend to anyone needing AC repair, maintenance, or replacement. The sales person, Ernie, was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. He took the time to investigate our current system and needs, as well as come up with creative solutions to meet our requests for relocating the system. He also reviewed all of the different options for new system, but never pushed us to purchase a "high end product." In the end, we got the exact system we need with all of the features we wanted, and feel we paid a very reasonable price for it. The installation team was also very professional, skilled, and efficient. They were able to complete the huge job within the same day, were very punctual, kept the house and yard very clean during and after completion, and were friendly as well. The new system works perfectly and is a great improvement to our home. We will definitely go with this company again in the future for all of our maintenance/repair needs and would certainly highly recommend them. This is one of the best overall companies we have worked with from everyone we've found on Angie's List over the past few years!

We did sign a yearly service agreement with them. They fixed the problem and we did set up an appointment in six months for them to come out to do a check up.

They were courteous and answered all of my questions. I felt like the repairman wanted to make sure he was doing a good job and put forth his best effort. He did do a good job.

They are absolutely excellent. We've had problems a couple of times and they have responded very quickly and courteously. They take time to explain what the problem is and provide options for repair, etc. They are very soft sell and highly professional.

After 2 other A/C repair companies came out for service and our A/C still wasn't working properly, we joined Angie's List, and after getting broad estimates for a service call and probable problem, we decided on this company. They were great!! Prompt, professional, efficient. No other company even hinted that we needed our unit pulled and cleaned. American Air knew immediately this was the problem. They also felt there might be a leak with our unit, and today we called them again, because we believe they are correct. The A/C is working but blowing warm air. So I called today and they're coming out THIS AFTERNOON to search for the leak. No charge for this service call, only for the work performed. I feel confident our A/C (which is over 20 years old) will be in excellent working order after this visit. They also offered advice on how to better care for the indoor unit (protecting it from pet hair/fur).

I found them on Angie s List and they were highly recommended. They did a very thorough inspection and replaced some needed parts at no extra charge. They did a good job and I was impressed with their service.

Earl was a good salesman, not pushy. He was honest, provided a very competitive price and the crew did an excellent job installing the unit.

American Air & Heat arrived in a timely manner and the technician was very professional. The technician informed me that I was correct in that my whole house electro-static air filter/cleaner was dead and un-repairable. He could have easily sold me a new one which would have been about $1000 just for the cleaner itself. He informed me that in his 20+ years in the business he has yet to see a whole house electro-static air filter/cleaner work well for more than one (1) year. He advised me to save my money and switch to a standard pleated air filter. He checked to make sure one would fit and work properly in my existing system, explaining exactly what I need to do and purchase. I sincerely appreciate their honesty and they have my business from now on!

Tony did an excellent job, he was very thorough. The company has a good, reasonably priced annual service maintenance plan - a flat charge per unit. After having my first annual inspection, I am confident I will not have any problems with either of my A/C units.

Called in the morning to describe my problem and get on the schedule. They told me someone would come between 1:00 and 5:00 that day, calling 30 minutes before so I could return home from work to meet them. By 4:30, no one had called, so I called back to check. They sent someone right away, and by 5:15 their technician Joe was at my house. He quickly determined the problem and refilled the refrigerant on the unit in question, which made it start working properly again immediately. While he was there, he checked out my downstairs unit as well, which was OK except for a missing O-ring in the refrigerant valve cap. He replaced that and also straightened out a couple of minor issues with the condensation drains on both units. He suggested I monitor the upstairs unit's efficiency and watch for a decline that might indicate a leak in the cooling coils (could be why the upstairs unit was so low).

I was experiencing draining problems with my A/C because my drain line was clogged. I knew what the problem was before I called. I called this company because I saw that an A/C tuneup cost $54.95 with the coupon, and it included a drain line cleaning. When I mentioned that there was a leak of water because my drain line was clogged, the representative insisted that I must have a diagnostic service call first and only afterward could I ask for a tuneup if the technician had time. The technician came on time and blew out the drain line confirming that there was no more leakage afterward by checking inside and outside. He was done quickly with that so I asked for the tuneup. He told me that's pretty much what he'd already done, but that a tuneup included a few more things like a visual examination of the inside and outside units and a check on the temperature of the air flow. I told him about how I'd tried to just schedule a tuneup in the first place when he went out to call in to get the pricing after he'd finished the work. The bill ended up being $100 with the Angie's List coupon. Although I think that is not too unreasonable overall, it was still $45 more than I needed to spend if I could have scheduled a tuneup with the associate on the phone. The technician was knowledgeable and professional and was empathetic to my frustration about the associate who scheduled the appointment. Overall I would probably use them again, but I am disappointed that the associate on the phone would not allow me to schedule the tuneup like I had asked.

The service was late but I am sure this was because of a bad storm. Todd was very professional and nice. Todd did find that the evap. coils are rusted and starting to leak out refrigerate. He suggested replacement of the air handler unit. He gave me two quotes for replacement. $1,661 for the standard model and $2,323 for the high efficiency model. I want to get additional quotes before deciding since the unit is 5 years old.

It went fine. They were friendly and helpful with explaining things with the system. We would have used them but we decided to go with a family friend who was cheaper.

It didn't go well at all. On 9/7/2008, a Saturday at 3pm, I call the company for service. The operator said someone will be contacting me within 45 minutes and told me to call back if no one called. No one called and I called back after 2 and a half hours. Then another operator said they would call the technician's cell phone directly to have them call me. Another hour passes so I call the main number again. The operator looks at the notes of the technician and the technician said he tried to call several times but couldn't reach me and he would call back on Monday. Well the tech never called me and we are in Florida with a bad A/C unit in need of service. I don't think this was handled very well at all. I will not use them again and that is unfortunate since I am a property manager who manages over 200 homes in the area.

Two techs came out, they set up, got into the attic and performed the work. They were very professional, friendly, and walked through what they did. They confirmed the size of the supply and return lines that were in the specifications, added a return grate to a ceiling area, and vacuumed the area to eliminate the debris. Excellent work.

I am very happy with my experience with American Air & Heat, I called 3 other companies for estimates and they were the best price (it was not even close). One company that I spoke to never even called me back. When I made my decision I called them and they came the next morning and installed the unit. Everyone was courteous and professional. They did not try to upsell me.

I called the office to make an appointment. I later had to re-schedule due to our tenants' needs. The office staff was very professional and thorough. The day of the appointment they called to confirm, then called again when the technician was on his way. Larry was also very professional and courteous. He completed the work, gave us a report and a recommendation to clear grass from around the a/c unit (weed whackers were damaging it). We received a $10 discount from an Angie's List coupon.

Wonderful - the serviceman was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He did a thorough job and was very efficient. Additionally, he gave us the information we needed to know about replacing our system without a 'sales push'. We are very happy with this company, found their price to be a bit better than average and their service to be superior. We will definitely use them when we do replace our entire ac system.

Worker arrived on time, did the work quickly, and was polite. No mess afterwords.

Office called the day of, and informed us of the persons who would be coming out. They showed up on time, were clean, prompt, and installed the unit with care to the surrounding area. The air handler was inside the home, and therefore care needed to be taken with the install. The 2 techs took the time to walk through the manuals, warrantys, and surveys before leaving. Cleanup was done very well. And to date, we are happy with the work.

We signed up for their maintenance program. It has worked out very well for us. He explained all of our options very well.

I have been very happy with this company. They did some major work for me a few years ago by replacing the entire air conditioning system and have been servicing it for years. I haven't had any problems with the unit yet and I am very satisfied for that.
