Description of Work: Jeff came out to fix my side by side frig. It was not cooling and the ice maker was not working. Jeff was very professional. He told me what the problem was right away and showed me what was wrong. He replaced the heating coil which was not working and causing the cooling system to freeze up. The Ice maker was shot. He put in a new unit and replaced the water valve that controlled the water flow to the ice maker. He was very reasonable and was about 40% less expensive than other service companies. I would recommend him to anyone!

Description of Work: I spoke with the owner in the morning and described the problem with my refrigerator. He advised what the 3 possible problems were and quoted a price for each. He arrived at the promised time, same day, and repaired the refrigerator at the quoted price.

+ -1 moreEarlier this year I had 3 great services with him and gave him an excellent review. Recently I referred my Aunt to him. He missed the appointment and never responded to numerous calls or answered text. I was disappointed. I left another message and text. The following week he contacted them that he'd been ill. He came and looked at the problem and the next day returned to repair the fridge. Sorry to hear he was ill. Wish he had told us when he missed appointment or updated voice mail to let cutomers know what was happening.
Description of Work: Repaired freezer so it now cools. Evaluated the problem on the first visit. Returned the next day to complete the repairs.

+ 0 moreI contacted Jeff who returned my call the same day. After giving him the model numbers, he gave me an apoximate repair cost over the phone. He arrived to check out the dishwasher & microwave at the time I asked him to. He already had replacement parts with him when he arrived. He replaced the start switch on my dishwasher saving me from having to replace the entire board. He took the microwave with him and a day later informed me that the previous repairman who worked on it had damaged it beyond repair. He went to Lowes and priced a suitable replacement for me & disposed of the old one. I appreciated his honesty & fairness and the cost of repairs was certainly more than reasonable especially considering he went shopping for a new microwave for me returning with a price & model number for. I would recommend Jeff to anyone and will certainly use this company for all future repairs.Not often is it a pleasure dealing with an appliance repairman but this a pleasure indeed. Thanks Jeff!!

+ -1 more**Update...Jeff contacted me today and advised the part for the microwave was in. I did not realize, nor was told, that a part was on order. He thought he had told me, but said he had many microwave repairs and may have gotten mixed up. Since he was able to get it fixed the same day, I had him perform the service, which he did in a couple of hours to my satisfaction. I updated the review grades, overall pleased with the service and price. Responsiveness was the negative issue.
Description of Work: After receiving very good service just 2 months ago to repair my refrigerator, I was quick to call when a problem arose with my over-the -range microwave. I was also going to replace an ice maker Jeff quoted on his previous visit. I left a message at approx. 8:00am on 10/9/12 and did not get a return call. I usually don't chase people to do work for me, but gave Jeff the benefit of the doubt and called him back the next day (Wednesday afternoon). He actually answered the phone, but was in the middle of a repair and said he would call me back, which he did, a few hours later. I explained the situation, gave him model numbers, and he said he couldn't do the work until Monday because of some bigger jobs. I said OK and he said he would call if he could do it sooner. Well, Monday came and went with no service or call and now Tuesday with no service or call. Very unfortunate, considering I thought I had finally found a reliable service provider. I can understand a one-man operation being busy and getting behind, but I don't believe there's any excuse for a business to not communicate. I was willing to wait...this repair was not critical. But to get no communication is not acceptable. I'm not going to chase after anyone that I pay to do work. And seeing some of the most recent reviews, I'm not the only one to experience this lack of response.

+ -1 moreDo call him if you've had good luck in the past and liked the service as I did.... Don't wait too long for a return call...if he doesn't respond, find someone else.
Description of Work: no services performed October 2012 because as of today, October 15, I never received a return call after leaving 3 messages (1 on 10/4, 2 on 10/5) regarding my washing machine being completely down. Also tried to use them on 9/11/2012. Received return call from Jeff Wilson on 9/12/2012 AFTER I'd already hired another company and the A/C work necessary had been completed. He explained he'd been out of town and that was the reason for the delay in the call. On the 9/12/2012 phone call with Jeff I discussed needing washing machine maintenance soon as well - he said he had some urgent calls to take care of and would schedule me in the next week and bring my dishwasher part then. I never heard from him. I used him for washing machine repair two years ago and got good service (although a small part he was supposed to deliver later never arrived). Luckily, I found another company through Angie's list that gave me great service.

+ -1 moreHe had to come over three times. The first time he diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. The second time he found the new part wasn't working correctly, so he had to return a third time with a new part. He only charged $60.00 for labor for all three visits, although he likely spent more than 6 hours working on this. He was extremely professional and was flexible enough to work around my busy schedule that week. I would definitely use him again and would recommend him highly to others.
Description of Work: My refigerator compressor was not working due to a short in the inverter. He had to replace the inverter motherboard.

+ -1 moreAfter the initial diagnosis, the technician came back out and replace the control board on my refrigerator. He was kind and helpful. However, after a few weeks, the same symptoms reoccurred. The repair cost a little over 300$. I called the company back on a Friday and scheduled another appointment for the following Monday. No one came out for the appointment that was scheduled. I called back the next day and no one answered. I left a message asking why the appointment was missed and never received a call back. I have called again since and still have not heard back. There was obviously a misdiagnosis. All I wanted was someone to come out again and take a look. Before he left, the technician said that if any other problems surfaced, he'd be out ASAP to fix whatever occurred. However, the company will still not respond to my calls, approximately a month after the issue. I am now forced to either purchase a new refrigerator, or go with another company, and I am out my original 300$ from the initial repair that did not fix anything. Be careful with them; I would be happy with the service if things had gone well, however, they clearly won't back their work up.
Description of Work: My refrigerator wasn't cooling correctly. A technician came out and diagnosed the problem as a bad control board. The technician came out another day and replaced the control board.

+ -1 moreMy Whirlpool fridge Right Half went DEAD.. Late on Sat night .. Looked like decent rating on AL for Affordable appliance.. Went ahead Sunday and called surprised Jeff answered!.. Said he was going to call back monday?.. Turns out Unplug & reset fixed the problem.. Didn't need to have jeff (who surprisingly answered) com out.. Next time I'm sure to give him a try!

Description of Work: I called this guy to see if I could set an appointment for repair on my icemaker. I spoke to him and he took down my model number and said he'd be calling back shortly. I never received a call back. Not only is this very unprofessional, it's just plain bad business etiquette. If you are not able to service the model provided or just simply don't want to do the job, at least have the courtesy to contact the person back and say so. I saw this company has done this before to others as well. To bad some people have no professional skills. I wonder why they have an "A" rating when they do business this way. They most likely gave themselves an "A" rating by posting positive comments themselves.

As I was in the hospital and trying to coordinate someone being home to meet the service person, it could of been difficult, but no - it was incredible. We exchanged messages, set the date and time and everything was done perfectly by Affordable Appliance. I am so pleased and happy to have found such a wonderful company with the best service and fair price! My dryer was working perfectly when I got home!!

+ -1 moreJeff was prompt and professional and seemed to know exactly what the issue was with my GE fridge. He diagnosed the problem, which was the mother board. I was expecting to wait for the part, but he had it in his truck. Prior to coming over he asked what the model number was of the fridge, so I assume he encounters the problem I had quite a bit. The price seemed reasonable and he agreed to work with us if the motherboard didn't completely fix the problem. I would recommend him to anyone.

He charged us the estimate provided over the phone. He gave advice on what I needed to do so the dryer heating element would last longer. He made the whole process easy.

Unable to get them together, my husband went to the property where Jeff performed all the necessary repairs in under an hour and was even able to help my husband diagnose an AC leak from an upstairs unit. Although I haven't met Jeff personally I feel confident in his skills and will use him again. Thank you.

+ -1 moreOn Saturday, we noticed items in the freezer were not as frozen as they should be. Thought we had maybe left the door open, but checking again a few hours later found that not to be the case. The refrigerator side was still cool, but gradually became warmer. On Sunday afternoon, I called Affordable Appliance Service and left a message, expecting to receive a call back Monday AM. Jeff called back at 7pm Sunday and said he could be here between 9:00-9:30 Monday morning. He phoned at 8:15am Monday and said he was on his way, arriving at about 8:30am. Within 15 minutes, he diagnosed the problem (bad circuit board), had one on his truck and replaced it. Very prompt and professional service. Will definitely use again when an appliance goes bad.

+ -1 moreThey were prompt, reliable, honest, fair, competent, and totally reasonable on price. I VERY HIGHLY recommend this company. Jeff asked the right questions before he even came. He came with the needed parts which he had purchased. He disassembled the machine, fixed the problem, only to realize there was an additional problem. It was at that point, he recommended that I not fix the additional problem as that would not be worth it (unit is 13 years old). All he charged me for was the trip charge--not even for the parts that he purchased. I think 99% of other repairmen would have easily tried to gouge me for $200+.

I called another person on Angie's List and within 2 days they had not returned my call. I called Jeff again and he had just gotten home from his own vacation.
