Description of Work: Tony came to diagnose and repair a problem with our refrigerator not dispensing ice through the door. He arrived on time and was very familiar with our particular refrigerator model and a history of its problems with the main circuit board. He still took the time to check the smaller circuit board in the door to rule out that as a possible source of the problem. The main board did prove to be the problem, however. Tony replaced it and verified that everything was in top working order. He was polite, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. We will definitely call on him should we ever again need appliance repair service. We will refer friends and family him and we give him our highest recommendation for anyone needing professional and reasonably priced appliance service.

Description of Work: My washer leaked all over the floor. Tony came and assessed the problem, as well as recommended other minor upgrades (supply hoses, etc). He replaced the water valve (solenoid) and the agitator dogs. He also bypassed the lid switch at that time, knowing that it would only be a matter of time before that went out also. Services performed in about an hour.

Description of Work: My dishwasher wasn't working. I spent some time researching on-line and was pretty sure I knew what part was broken and the approx. cost of the part ($100+). I called Halifax Appliance based on Angies List feedback, left a message, received a return call right away. I explained the situation & he agreed w/my diagnosis. He then suggested replacing the unit, rather than repair since the last time he had a similar repair, the cost was $200+. He said the H Gregg ad in Sundays paper had some good prices. He said he could come take a look, but thought it would not be cost effective for me! It was so refreshing to hear a repairman give honest advice rather than make easy money off me. I will not hesitate to call Halifax Appliance in the future should the need arise, and would very highly recommend them to anyone needing an appliance repair!!!

Description of Work: The ice maker in my refrigerator was not working. When calling Halifax Appliance I was asked specific questions about the ice maker and what the problem seemed to be. He was extremely interested in solving the problem in one visit and having the necessary parts with him......NOT just interested in making a service call and having to return with the necessary parts. I was very impressed with his professionalism and sincere interest both over the phone and in person. I not only called him because of his super rating on Angie's List but also because he offered a l0% discount. He also offered suggestions on how to better operate the refrigerator.

Description of Work: Washing Machine: Replaced a malfunctioning part on the agitator. Replaced a burned out solonoid to re-establish cold water to washer.

Description of Work: Tony McMullin replaced a water valve in our 1996 GE clothes washer. The water valve cost $43.20, labor [house call] was $55.00 and tax was $6.38 for a total of $104.58.

Description of Work: The oven door on our 2001 Frigidaire Oven was broken and would not shut properly. Tony took the door apart - after placing a towel on my kitchen floor to catch the dirt! and found the problem. He called to get a replacement part price, then told me the part was overpriced and he could jimmy it to work for a while but we wee better off buying a new one. I checked part prices on line and he was right - $150 plus labor for each door hinge bracket.
