When I scheduled the move, a man named "Dave" took the reservation. He took my name, and my girlfriends name - telling me that he was putting both of our names on the reservation. When I gave him the destination address (Virginia Ave), he exclaimed: "I'm leaving for Virginia Beach in one hour!! How crazy is that?!". It's crazy, Dave. Completely crazy. I'm just thrilled that you're going on vacation, while I'm planning my move. Congrats. Dave told me that the company is a family-owned business, and they "don't use any day labor". He quoted a very low price: $78 per hour, with no minimums. Everything about the phone call felt sketchy, but the price was just so low... (Bad judgement call in 3... 2... 1...) "Great!", I said. What time will the truck arrive to load? "Well," Dave said, "the dispatcher will call you when the truck is on the way". I asked for a general time window, and he just said "probably in the afternoon". He took my phone number, and that was it. End of phone call. The next day, my girlfriend asked me if I got an e-mail confirmation - or if I had a contact-number to use on the day of the move. Um... no, and no. So, July 1st arrives (that's today). By now, I'm not expecting the phone to ring. By this point, the complete inadequacy of "Your Best Mover" was setting in. While I sat on my couch on Virginia Ave, I imagined Dave, sitting on Virginia Beach. I poked around on the internet, and found some reviews on Yelp. One star. All reviews were negative. (Oops. Note to self: read reviews before booking). So, with deepening dread, I logged onto Angie's List. She lists 3 pages of movers in Orlando, and I found "Your Best Mover" - sitting dead last with an "F" rating. You can read the other reviews for yourself. I'm too embarrassed to repeat them here. Finally, at 3pm, I called the main number listed for the company. I explained that I was waiting for 'dispatch' to call me (and - slowly - it dawned on me... why would a tiny, family moving company have a dispatch service?). The guy that answered the phone sounded half-asleep. He asked for my name, and simply said: "you're not in the computer". I remembered that I gave Dave my girlfriends name also, so I tried that. He paused for MAYBE half a second, and said: "she's not in the computer". I told the guy that I made the reservation with Dave - and that Dave made a joke about my address - and his road trip to Virginia Beach. The response: "Well, I do have a Dave working in the office, but you're not in the computer." That was it. No follow up questions. No offer to re-schedule. Nothing. "You're not in the computer." I realized that I didn't want to re-schedule. I didn't ever want to meet these people, or to trust them with my possessions. I didn't care about the price any more. At that point, I would have declined "FREE". So, with a bit of a smile, I said goodbye - and hung up. I had that surge of happiness ... when you're just happy to bail, and hire a Professional. I called Two Men and a Truck. Very professional. $112 an hour, with no minimums. They booked me for the next day - at 1pm. By the time I hung up the phone, I had an e-mail confirmation - with an itemized quote - and a very detailed time estimate. But, this isn't an endorsement for Two Men and a Truck. I don't care who you use. Just learn from (all) of my mistakes. - Read reviews - Be suspicious of below-market-rate pricing - Trust your gut And, you should also learn from the ONE THING that I did right: - When things go south, don't be afraid to bail ; ) If you did things right, you're reading this review after you saw the low price - but BEFORE you booked the move. All the best, Jim and Angie
Description of Work: I scheduled a move for July 1st about a week in advance. The guy who booked my move sounded like he was talking on a cell phone, and was only half-listening to me. He told me that the dispatcher would call me on the day of the move. July 1st arrived, and no one called. No truck arrived. NO SHOW. I called them, and was told: "I don't see anything in the computer". AVOID AVOID AVOID.

They are completely unprofessional, disorganized and the management is rude. They kept us waiting for 5 hours after our appointment. Not once did they bother to call. I had to call numerous times after the hours kept passing by. The manager kept telling me they were delayed and couldnt even give us an estimate of arrival. 5 hours and 4 phone calls later the manager simply said "we are not coming" without even apologizing! I was shocked at the lack of professionalism. They completely ruined our move.
