Enjoyed the experience working with YBRP. I had a plan on what I wanted and changed it a couple times. They were very patient with us and also provided some excellent options to improve what we had in mind. Communication, scheduling and on site work was all very professional.

I first used Yellow Brick Road nearly 20 years ago. Since then, I have used them four more times over the years, most recently for a patio paver project. They are easy to work with, very knowledgeable, and their work is top-notch. They are the only company I have ever hired to do pavers and the only one that I would consider.

So once I got in touch with Yellow Brick, they contacted my pool builder to get the deck plans and provide me an accurate estimate. I was excited to get the pavers sealed because according to info they sent me, it would seal in the sand that is in between the bricks, and would seal out ants. I told them that I wanted my deck to be maintenance free, other than resealing every couple of years. I was assured it would be. I should have gone with my gut when I never had a phone call actually answered. I always had to leave and message, and wait for a call back which would come 24 - 48 hours later. To schedule the service, I had to sign the proposal and send half of the payment up front. I got a call on a Friday telling me to turn off all water features on our pool and turn off the yard sprinklers over the weekend because the bricks had to be dry for at least 48 hours. We were told they would be out on Tuesday or Wednesday. Tuesday came and I got a call saying someone would be there Thursday. I was a little ticked off at this point cause I was already and quot;scheduledand quot; for Tuesday. On Thursday afternoon, I got a call that the job that was before mine was taking longer than expected and that they would be out first thing on Friday. My husband just happened to be home that Friday, and when no one showed by 3pm I started sending emails (remember the whole never answers the phone, email was a little better), and leaving messages. Finally at 430pm 2 guys showed, just as we were headed out so we have no idea how long they took, or if they rushed to get to their weekend started. We had to wait 24 hours before we could get the deck wet. Due to the long delay in getting the deck sealed and never knowing when they were coming our sprinklers were off for a solid week. Lawn wasn't happy but that's another story entirely. So we were pretty pleased at that point with the work and sent the final payment, but less than a week afterwards we started seeing ants pop back up through the deck and unsealed sand between the bricks. I called and left, you got it, another message. The response I got was and quot;if there were ants before then you're still going to have ants.and quot; Funny, I thought that was one of the things this was supposed to fix. Anyway I was told they would send someone out to look at it. The following Saturday morning we get up and head downstairs for breakfast and there are 2 guys working on my patio. No phone call, no email, completely unannounced. Best part, it didn't solve the problem. I didn't bother contacting them again. I didn't see the point. Now the good news is that, yes, the bricks themselves are sealed, but I was definately disappointed that they didn't live up to what was advertised. I'm still fighting with ants, and have recently had to put more sand over the patio to fill in around the bricks and now have sand tracking into my pool. For $700 I expected to get the ant/sand thing taken care of. To me that would have been worth the money.
Description of Work: Our pool company recommended Yellow Brick to seal our new paver patio and pool deck. We wanted our pavers sealed to reduce the amount of sand/dirt that we would have on the deck, to seal out ants that were crawling up between the bricks, and to protect the pavers from stains such as drippings from the grill.
