Wyndham Vacation Resorts

Wyndham Vacation Resorts(WVR) sold us a timeshare unit with promises to assist in renting out the unit. They quoted the amount of the rental income to be returned to us as $5,000 per rental which for two years would cover 89% of the purchase price. I expressed skepticism and asked very direct questions about this rental income and they convincingly told us of their continung support to attain this income for us. We stated payment for the timeshare entirely depended on this future income. These lies of continuing support by WVR were repeated the next day and again weeks later. WVR has provided absolutely none of the support promised. We found WVR customer service is non-existent in the WVR Customer Care department. They provided only attempts at appeasement and no resolution of disputes. The WVR's 'verbal' promises that they fail to live up to are in direct violation of the "Virginia Time-share Act"; however, WVR skirted the law because their committments were verbal and we were left without written proof of WVR's comittments. The dozens and dozens of similar complaints against WVR filed with the state of Virginia strongly suggest WVR's misrepresentations and skirting the law are a standard method of doing business. Also other reviews strongly suggest that WVR's misrepresentation problem is nationwide. Once the timeshare purchase contract was signed and we were snared as victims of this misrepresenation fraud, the support by WVR vanished, phone calls to WVR were not returned. Finacing of the purchase is typically done thru credit card or finance companies to separate WVR from the financial collection of payment. This is of great advantage to WVR when their victims learn they have been victims of a marketing misrepresentation scam. Furthermore the Wyndhan Kingsgate Unit in Williamsburg, Va where we stayed appear plush on the surface; however, the walls seemed to be totally without sound insulation. Although if was off season and few guest were residing in the building, the sounds from the next unit and the unit beyond carried through the walls. My recommendation is don't accept their bait of free meal, free dinner, free nights stay at Wyndham to listen to their sales pitch. Don't believe their lies. And don't sign anything. There are numerous claims that the 7 day WVR contract cancelation period is lost or ignored unless absolute irrefutable proof exists that a cancelation was submitted on time. Do take a recorder if you do listen to a WVR sales pitch?
