I had called Tropical Septic and Plumbing [9468 E Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32820] to check a slow draining sink. The friendly receptionist said a service call is $60 with an additional $60/hr. every half hour after. They'd have a technician here within 48 hours who would call me before coming. The tech showed up early and never called. He was courteous, cleaned up after himself and was here about an hour. When I got the invoice, it said: “Ran snake from under kitchen sink and cleared drain. $250.” I called Tropical, since that was a much higher cost than I had expected. The person Ido talked to before told me there’s a flat rate of $250 if the tech has to “snake” a drain, although in that case they do waive the $60 service fee. She apologized for not relaying that information to me when I first called. Within a week, although not as bad as before I noticed the same drain backing up. Thinking this may be covered under the original call, I called Tropical but was told they “can’t guarantee drains.” If they send out a technician, I’d be charged for a service call ($60). The amount would be higher if the tech had to use the snake. She added they could “maybe” give me a break, but no guarantees. Bottom line: I was not given the full cost information to begin with, and when the repair was ineffective I was told I’d have to pay more for them to return.

I had just recovered from surgery so couldn't really look to see if it was emptied all together but they were quick and on time but like other review the guy tells me I need new drain field and it was urgent. Gave me a quote then owner called me and said price was wrong and gave me quote $300 less???? Now I'm wondering about the honesty.

Guy goes on to say I need new drainage field and gave me a quote. Told me it was urgent or I would have prob. Later that day the owner called and gave me price $300 less. Owner very nice seems to be honest but the guy doing the draining was trying to get more money for things that were needed.

Fixed the pipes and a leak. Very good! Most excellent.

They responded within 1 hour of the call. The service was done right and well priced. This is my third experience with Tropical. All the calls have been equally fast, well done and reasonably priced.

Very professional - quick to respond, arrived when he said he would. More reasonable and quicker appointment than others I had called. I will definitely use them again for future home projects and or issues.

It was very good. They did not over charge and you can tell for sure that he knew what he was talking about when he did it. He was a friendly guy and he came right out. I think they were great since they made the repair and did a good job of it. He was also conscientious about his work.

After another contractor scared us by telling us we had a sink hole at our home that caused a pipe to crack we called for a second opinion. Tropical was professional and helpful in find the real problem. We haven't had any issues since.

The job went extremely well. Not only did they accomplish what I asked them to do they had great suggestions on how to improve this and other areas of my irrigation system. They were very prompt in returning my call and setting the appointment.

It took them 3 times as long as they said they would. When it was done the tile was all crooked. The grout 6 weeks later was coming up. We gave them a call and they refunded part of the money. They told us they would come out and fix they vent they put in that didn't work and would fix the grout. They never came out and never returned my phone calls.

They were really good. They have to come back because of some more things to be done. They were very pleasant, honest, reasonable, and we will recommend them to anybody. We built a house and do all of our plumbing. And we had new ways and worked for and figure out what was going on with it. They came back and got someone to get right. They had a good attitude. We shopped around and I know that they are one of the most reasonable. They did not charge anything when they do follow up for we had concern.

Tropical plumbing technician was prompt, courteous and professional. He struggled getting one of the heating elements out of the 12 year water heater that had never been maintained. Finally had to drill out the bottom heating element, but was able to finally get the unit back online. Afterwards he showed me all the hard water deposits in the unit has accummulated and recommended that I get a new water heater very soon. That is why I rated them a B. It was partly my fault and partly theirs. I should have made the decision to replace the unit and he should have recommended it. Becasue now I am in to the water heater for 185 dollars plus the cost of getting another new water heater installed.I would still recommend them though. Clarence did a great job and cleaned up after he was finished.

The company was one of four that we contacted about doing our work. They are a local firm that we've used once before. The company was prompt and seemed to take care of all of the details. They might not have been the cheapest, but when a company shows up to give a quote and their truck breaks down in front of my house, it made me wonder what other details are they going to over look, if they cant even properly maintain their equipment.

Never responded to my request for services and therefore it did not go anywhere.

They were very good. I've used them a couple of times over the years. They came in and did the work. They were polite and they cleaned up after themselves. Their quality of work is excellent.

I called at 8:30am this morning and they quoted me a time the same day between 12-4pm but stated they would call ahead prior to showing up. They called around 11:30am stating they were in the area if I wanted them to come early, (which I did since I had no water)! They gave me an affordable quote and quickly made the repairs. The service man was great at explaining the mechanism of why the problem happened and what to do if in a couple years it happens again. (For a first time homeowner this was priceless information!) He also told me I could show my water company the bill to possibly get a credit for the wasted water. He fixed both issues in about 20 minutes. Very professional and courteous. He honored my Angie's List coupon with no question. I will definitely use them again and recommend.

Everything went well. Very professional. I just think they are a little high in their Pricing.

I called Tropical Plumbing for them to replace the float switch for the pump for my septic system tank. Their person arrived on schedule. I asked him to replace the float switch for the pump for my septic system. He said that he would have to get into the septic holding tank to determine the problem. He dug up the electrical cables to the tank and removed the lid to the septic holding tank. He then told me that the float switch for the pump for my septic system needed to be replaced. He said the cost would be $375.00. I think this price ($375) is very high (retail cost of switch ($50) and 1 hour of his labor). I would not have had him do the work if he had given me the price before he started work. The work was completed very professionally. In the future: Request firm price for work before any work is started.

We called Tropical Plumbing on Monday when we noticed water running out under the house when our daughter was in the shower. Their associate, Leo, came out on Monday afternoon and looked at the problem. He quickly let me know the problem, checked on the part, and made an appointment to come back the next day (Tuesday) morning between 8-9 am because it was a two man job. He arrived on time with the part and helper around 8:30 and was done before 9:00. The entire time, Leo was very polite and professional. I would give them an A+ on everything, if that was an option! Bottom line, use Tropical Plumbing and don't forget to check for the Angie's List coupon. :)

It was great, terrific, outstanding and whatever superb words you can think of. They always do it well, promptly and they always make everybody happy.

They were actually very good. They glued it and set right and they came out the next day and no charge and fixed it again. I would use them again.
