work was ok, but slow. Seemed to me like they wanted to get in hours. He wanted to power wash the roof which should never be done. Thought they were expensive for the work done.

The kitchen of our newly purchased home had an over-the-range microwave with no external ventilation. Since my wife cooks a lot, we decided to install a new range hood with external ventilation. Based on the overall good reviews, I contacted Handyman Connection. Sebastian was the ?handyman? who came to our home to give an initial estimate and also actually did the job five days later. This was not a simple job, requiring cutting a 6? hole through the stucco wall, installing a flexible pipe of 6? diameter that connects the range hood, passes through the ceiling of my kitchen, and makes a 90 degree turn to go outside. Sebastian carefully examined the structure of the house in order to choose a best position for the ventilation hole. He did many measurements both in the kitchen and the room above on the second floor, and was able to accurate project the positions of the ceiling of the kitchen and the floor of the room above to the external surface of the wall. He then started by drilling a small hole to double check the positions and the structure behind the wall. His efforts were paid off nicely ? everything turned out perfectly. No mistakes from the beginning to the end, even minor ones! He did an excellent job! I am an engineer myself, and I truly admired his carefulness, skill, and devotion to the job. I definitely will use Sebastian again in the future and I highly recommend him.

Owner of Tomahawk Painting, Grady Martin, was selected to provide me with an estimate on the exterior painting of my home. He was very professional when he came by the house and explained in writting what the job would entail. (Pressure washing and sealing of any cracks.) Before the job, I called him several times with questions. He always called me back within the same day if not answering the phone when I called. He always arrived when he said he would and I am completely satisfied with the work he performed. I have already set up a time for him to paint some of my interior rooms.

I have a small area that I want lattice put up. Bill was knowledeable and polite. Bill was going to charge $650.00 for that small area. It is going to be two panels of lattice. It was the most expensive. I told him I was getting a lot of estimates and he gave me his card. His boss ended up leaving me a voicemail about the situation and what the status was. I'm not obligated to call him back though.

Overall, it went very bad. When I called to make the appointment it was a Saturday, the same day I realized my French doors were not shutting properly. My husband was out of town for work and we just moved into the house a few months ago. I learned a few days later when my husband returned that the fix was right in front of my face. On Monday, I received a call from the company stating that someone would be at my house the follwing day. I asked about a trip charge and was told there was not one. I asked if this would be a free estimate and was told yes. I was at work and I asked my 19 year old newphew to be at the house. He called me once 2 guys arrived to let me know they were there. He called me less than 10 minutes later to tell me they were done. I asked what they did and was told they lifted up "2 things" that were on the inside of each door. Then he said one of the guys took out what looked like a butter knife and cut a piece of rubber of the top of one of the doors. They then went outside to their van. It was then I received a call from a guy named Peter who said the charge for the job done was $200. Immediately I asked why so much for a job that was less than 10 minutes. I asked specifically what was done. I was never told they simply lifted up 2 latches and then shut the door and it locked properly. I was told I was benig charged for parts and labor and also a trip charge. Again, I asked what parts and labor. Peter was very vague in answering why such a high charge and I asked to speak with a manager. Minutes later I received a call from someone claiming to be the supervisor and I explained him my concern that what seemed to be such a simple job had such a high price. I also asked about the trip charge. He told me that there was no trip charge and he would correct Peter. Then he said that depending on how long a job is and what parts and materials are used that is how a price is determined. At this point, I said I understood but it was a 7-8 minute job and there was no parts or materials, short of a small knife to cut a piece of rubber. I asked him if he felt this was morally and ethically right to charge that price? He did not answer but instead asked me to tell him how much I think I should pay. I said no more than $50. He said ok that would be fine. And took my card information. Just like that.....$150 less than what they were asking. When my husband came home and my nephew showed him the "2 things" that were lifted, it was then I learned where these latches were and what they did, in other words, they control the doors closing and locking properly. I felt completely taken for granted in this case by Handyman Connection. Defintely a case where I was looked at like a stupid woman who doesnt know better. I am shocked and my husband and I are disgusted at the way I was treated. True, the fix was staring me in the face, but shame the 2 guys who came out used that against me to be dishonest and deceitful. Big thumbs down to your company.

I called Handyman Connection about a ceiling that needed repaired because of a leak and I got an immediate response that day. Brian came to look at the damage and gave me a fair estimate. He did a great job replacing the lath and plaster. He finished the texture of the ceiling to match the existing texture . Brian was very courteous and professional and I would not hesitate to call Handyman services again.

We called Handyman Connection, spoke to an actual human being, and explained the job. We received a call soon thereafter from Sebastian, who arrived at the house at the promised time. He examined the bathroom, thoroughly explained the necessary repair, and gave a fair estimate. The next day I called back to contract the job, with the condition that it be completed by the end of the weekend. Sebastian told us he could start the job on Saturday and, worst case scenario, finish up Sunday morning. He arrived on time, did excellent work ahead of schedule (there was no need for him to return on Sunday) and true to the estimate. We would definitely hire Sebastian and Handyman Connection for future jobs.

I called on tuesday to make an appt for quote on long list of handyman issues at my home. experienced intense selling pressure for a "craftsman" to come out the same day. made appt for 8.30 this morning. "craftsman" just called at 8.20 to say he had only just received the work order from the office and was a long way away. said he had only been with the company for 4 weeks and didnt know how they worked yet? I cancelled appt. I have had NO good experiences with these franchise "handyman" companies and thsi one is no different.

I called to make an appointment. The Sebastian was running late (about 30 minutes) but called to advise me. I had purchased some some detectors but found out that in order for them to work properly, they all had to be replaced. The Sebastian offered to take back the detectors that I purchased and get the proper ones for my home. After that work was completed, he worked and fixed the leaky bathroom sink and tightened the lighting fixture above the sink. He was very professional and thorough; I have not had any issues with either the detectors or the sink.

The experience was great. I needed someone who could paint, caulk, fix rotten wood, patch plaster/drywall, and replace screen. I also needed a contractor that I could trust in my house when I am not there or my wife or son are ther alone. We accomplished this here and that is a big deal....I had a good experience last month using Angies List when I needed my very large oak tree trimmed so I used the list again again....I started out looking for plaster/drywall repair for my master bathroom and after reading the different customer reviews, I realized I needed a jack of all trades type person to really get the large list of small "finishing" tasks done in a timely manner. So I ended up looking at Handyman companies....After reading lots of customer reviews with the top rated companies, I selected Handyman Connections. They sent out Handyman "Henry" and he did a walkthrough, went out to his car and came back with an estimate. I had already estimated what I thought this list (I prepared it before he came) would cost, so if I was under that estimate, I was ready to go. Most of the items had accumulated over a 5 year period....I am a home handyman myself, but I am not a "finisher." It feels great to see all the things that were completed by Henry after 3 days of work. I will use this company again and will ask for Henry if he is available.
Description of Work: Just about everything that needs to be done to finish and sell a house. Plaster repair, ceiling paint, paint bathroom, patch a cement hole around a faucet and finish. Caulk and paint outside eves/soffit in pool area and porch. Replace some rotten wood and paint. Paint the railing in front of house. Replace 3 screen sections on pool enclosure. Grout fix-up in several places in kitchen. Replace 2 kickplates on kitchen island and in a bathroom .

Handyman arrived on time. Consulted with me on what I wanted to have repaired (see above). After consult he determined he could repair the door jambs and install the light fixture. Consultation by phone with a person more knowledgeable with this type of bathtub drain determined this would require the service of a licensed plumber. I was quoted a price for the service which was based on the estimated number of hours to do the repairs/replacement.That was 4 hours. I accepted the estimate. He repaired the door jambs first. He removed the trim framing, sill and seals and cut the jambs off to good wood; two feet on one side and 8 inches on the other. He cleaned out the rot and insulation in those areas. He went to a supply store and purchase replacement jambs that had six inches of plastic on the bottoms grafted to wood for the rest of the jamb. He cut pieces to the required length and placed them into the areas being repaired. He sealed and caulked the sill and the repair work. He sanded the repair work after filling the areas to make them even.He checked the door for fit and leaks.I reinstalled the interior trim and painted the trim myself. He then removed and replaced an existing fixture in a closet with a unit that I purchased. The light works perfectly. The estimated time was 4 hours and it took just short of five hours.

We had a fairly large insurance claim and some additional work that we wanted done. They were on time with the appt and gave a good price with a warranty. We were pleased with their work especially after having a hard time dealing with the Insurance Company and the prior roofers. Had a few minor fixes that took a few weeks to have them come out to fix but nothing major. They cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. The work was done in a timely manner with the work that needed to be done. We just called them today to come out to do another estimate for additional work that we want done. At this point, they will be called for all work that we need/want done to the house
Description of Work: We had a sizable hole in our ceiling from a roof leak that needed drywall and insulation, had them remove all popcorn ceiling in the LR, DR, Kitchen, hallway and bedroom and apply drop down ceiling, also had them remove a window and close it up and replace 2 windows and repair stucco work, and replace fascia.

Description of Work: I have a double door entrance to my home that requires replacing weather stripping and one set of french doors that require the same. This company was quick to respond to my inquiry, great follow up on the day of their visit to inspect and confirm what was needed. I was stunned when they gave a quote of $250 to replace weather stripping. When I questioned how many labor hours are being considered for the repair, I was told 3 hours. Folks, this is a 1/2 hour job at most and I think I'm being generous. Factor in 1/2 hour travel time and I thought $100 was more than generous, but it was not approved. If this is what they charge for this type of repair, buyer be aware if you plan to consider their services for something more complex.

The quote was really high. Another guy quoted me $400 for the drywall, and this company said $1200 for the drywall and I had to provide the materials. The quote was $2400 if I wanted the room painted. They were highly rated on Angie's List. I'm sure they would have done a great job, but the price is too high. I won't be using them because of the inflated price.
