SHUTTERMAN

After requesting an estimate a person came and measured the window openings. Another person came to check measurements and provided 3 estimates based on using various types of shutters. We agreed on what type of shutters we wanted, placed an order and was told it would take approximately six weeks. Approximately 8 weeks later we were contacted and notified that the shutters were ready. We agreed on an install date and was told it would take approximately 1 full work day. The installers showed up between 10:30 and 11am and worked until approximately 6pm. All accordion shutters were installed satisfactorily. However the colonial shutters could not be installed as the measurements taken were not accurate and the shutters would not meet building code requirements and would not pass inspection. New measurements were taken and new colonial shutters were ordered. I was told it would be approximately 5 to 6 weeks to get the shutters but they would try and expedite. I paid a follow up amount for the installation of the accordion shutters as there were no issues with the shutters or installation. However it has now been over 2 months, I have followed up several times on when this will be completed. I have left voice mail messages and only response has been that 1) the shutters were built and were ready to be painted and several weeks later 2) shutters have come out of paint and should be ready shortly. We are now in hurricane season with one storm already having hit the area and the work is still not completed. In addition to the work not being completed I still have the original colonial shutters that did not fit the windows sitting in my garage taking up my space for 2 months now. Also there are 4 shutters there that they left that were ordered for someone else that was left in my garage. Help!! I want to get this nightmare over with and get the work completed. As mentioned I have no problem with the original accordion shutter installation. However now there is no customer follow up by Shutterman and I have only been contacted by the installers who are subcontractors. The principal that I had dealt with at Shutterman (Steve Risi) has not contacted me despite multiple attempts by me as all calls now go to voice mail. Initial installation was fine other then installers showing up late in the day. But since then this has been a nightmare and I can not recommend this group to others.

From start to finish the installation was painless. The owner and estimator arrived when they said they would. The order was placed the day of the estimation (50% down and 50% when work completed). Estimated delivery and installation was 4 weeks from date of deposit. On 4 June the equipment and hardware was delivered and installed within 3 hrs to our satisfaction by a very efficient 2 man crew. The lead foreman Alan and his assistant Cody after completion went over just how to place the shutters on the rails.
