Great service at the East Colonial Store. We were looking for a good low priced dryer to replace an overpriced, very poor Whirlpool Duet. Chris at the store was very friendly and helpful. He explained everything for us, checked it out before we left, even replaced the electrical plug from a 4 prong to a three. Outstanding experience; Chris understands how to work with and take care of a customer. I will return to this business again and will recommend them to others.
Description of Work: We purchased a dryer from the store. Excellent service

After seeing the low prices advertised on Craigslist I went there with the intention of paying about $100 for a used/refurbished washing machine and pulled out the cash from the ATM on my way. When I got there I quickly realized if I wanted anything remotely decent I was going to be paying more than $100. The employee who was working said I could pay with the cash and put the difference on my debit card. During the few minute discussion of warranty and the guys allergies I made the mistake of signing the debit receipt without looking at the amount charged which was supposed to be $65 and change (because I gave him the $100 cash). My bad, I know, I'll never do that again, trust me...It wasn't until 3 days later that I was reviewing my bank account and realized the mistake: I was charged $165 on my card on top of the $100 cash! I immediately called Price Busters to try to straighten out the mistake. At the time I was naive enough to believe that accidents happen and the guy would remember the transaction, see the mistake and rectify the situation. NOT THE CASE! The first call I made, was on a Saturday and their was a different person working, he was concerned but unsure of what to do. He told me he would contact the powers that be and be in touch, he did call back and said if I came in on Monday the man that sold the machine to me would be there and I could 'try' to straighten it out. I called on Monday before heading over there to make sure they were there and I was going to be able to get my money back. The man not only said he had no idea what I was talking about and was adamant that he "does not make those kinds of mistkes" and for all he knew I was trying to scam them. I tried several times to calmly explain the situation to help him maybe remember the transaction, even bringing up the conversation we had about his allergies and how I had someone with me to help with the moving of the washer. He refused to listen, instead rambling on about the accounting procedures of his company and how until the books didn't balance they didn't owe me anything. At this point, because this was the person who had taken my cash and filled out the generic receipt, I asked to have the number for the owner of the company who he kept saying would call me only if there was a discrepancy. To this he replied: "he doesn't want to talk to you, when and if he does, he will call you." With that he pretty much hung up on me. I called back and asked for the owner's name which he did give me and repeated that there was no number to reach him and he would call if he felt his company had made a mistake. I waited the enitre next business day and after not hearing anything, called on Wednesday. The same 'employee' answered and waisted no time errupting into his tyrade that I was harrassing him and clearly didn't know who I was dealing with and believe him when he said neither he, nor his boss needed my $100 because they pull $60,000 a month and as far as he was concerned I needed to take my scamming self elsewhere. He then said if I could produce an ATM receipt showing I took the cash out in a reasonable amount of time before the transaction his boss would consider my story, I responded saying I had the receipt for the ATM and a witness who was in the car not only when I got the money out, but also who saw me hand him the cash. He said he didn't care who was there as my witness and I could leave the original reciept with him to pass along to his boss...When I calmly tried to explain to him that based on the experience I had had with him over the last few days I was not comfortable leaving anything with him he really lost it. I never got a call and decided homeboy must have needed the $100 more than he lead on, hope it was to feed his kids. Luckily, the wahing machine is still working, a perk to this situation, but believe me if it does happen to brake down within the 6 month warranty timeframe, I will not even bother going to them to get it repaired, no way, no how...Customer service is a dying art.
