They discount to builders and charge high prices for the mediocre service . They bill you for services I never authorized. Then decide to drop you when you question the service. I called them and they never call back asked to speak to Rodney Stiensta the owner - promised to call back and never did. Be careful as no customer service. I found out they were charging me $280 and other charged $125 what a ripoff . I complained to my builder for recommending this company.

NO ONE SHOULD USE THIS COMPANY! I have never left a negative review before but it is imperative if you are looking for pool service, please read this! I have a new pool, installed 7/19. I hired this company to service and make repairs on equipment. I paid my bill every month and trusted the weekly pool tech to clean and check our equipment per the service agreement. Not only did he give us constant mis-information, he never bothered to mention the flow of our pool basically stopped over these months and never reported that our salt cell was defective. I am not a pool expert which is why I did not know anything was wrong. I have attached a photo of our filter to show how much this company cares about its customers! IT HAS NEVER BEEN CHECKED OR CLEANED IN 9 MONTHS! Because of the lack of care (it should have been checked once per month and should have lasted 3-5 years with proper care) we have to buy a brand new filter that could be as much as $500.00!! Not only that, their management team is so rude and cancelled my service for asking about their safety precautions during the COVID pandemic. I am so thankful they did because I now have the best company and qualified kind professionals. If you need a fantastic pool company you can trust to take care of your pool on every level, Pinch A Penny is THE BEST! Good luck and stay away from Pool Care Specialists.

Started out poorly, mentioned multiple times it was a brand new pool and they constantly left the PH high right after taking care of the pool. Would come back out and test and finally add some acid after complaining. Noticed nothing was being brushed, sand washed off from the deck was just sitting on the ledges for weeks. Complained and nothing changed. Finally, they come and go with only emptying the skimmer baskets. Email yet again and get a response that they were doing "storm mode" maintenance - since they were expecting rain instead of doing anything I paid them to do they were just draining some water and emptying the baskets. They did not clean the pool, the deck, brush or anything I needed them to do, they just turned a faucet on and off and left. I replied that aside from that the chlorine was over 5 for the past two weeks (no action taken) the PH was over 7.8 for the past two weeks (no action taken) and the salt was low according to the chlorine generator for at least 3 weeks since I noticed it (again, no action taken). No response received from company and they simply did not show up to the next service so cancelled. Would not recommend especially at the prices they charge.
Description of Work: Paid $190/mo for their full pool service plus deck cleaning.

This company was recommended to us by Premier Pools. They did a great job during our free 3 months of pool care after we installed our new pool. When this ended, they began to charge us $120/month to clean and balance the chemicals once a week. At this point, a new technician was sent out, who left our waterfall running all day while we were at work, draining our pool of half its water, making it below the skimmers and jets. He also replaced the cover to the filter improperly, which caused our pool's motor to run constantly without actually filtering the water. We didn't notice this for days, until the motor starting making loud noises because it had sucked large amounts of air into the system. At this point, we asked the company to stop our service. Since then, I have been going to Pinch A Penny, where the total cost of chemicals to balance the saltwater pool monthly is less than $5. It turns out that their screw up is saving us tons of money in the long run, and we are better off without them.

Well, I have tadpoles living in my pool right now. That's how it went. These guys seem to do really good work and their office is very professional. So I'm not sure exactly how we ended up here but here we are. Dates are approximate. 5/18 Initially we started with an $800 pool cleanup and motor replacement. That was done and the pool started to look better immediately. The pump motor was replaced and the seals for the intake and outlet of the pump were redone. The pump was circulating and it was beginning to lose the green color. A few days go by and it's still very cloudy so they come back and add some chemicals to help with that and say that they'll be out again in a day or two. This was prior to memorial day weekend and we were really hoping to get the pool back into shape by then, they assured me it would be. 5/23 Well, Sat. rolled around and the pool was still very cloudy (couldn't see the bottom) and I hadn't seen anyone service the pool in a while. I thought to myself, "it won't hurt anything if I clean the filter at least" as I was trying to give it the best chance of working for Sunday. I was later informed by the office that " someone had cleaned the filter and turned the pump on" like it wasn't obvious I was the one who had done it so that was why it wasn't working out as expected. Additionally the office calls me to tell me that the pump is leaking (and it is, quite badly) and that it would be another $400 to repair. I find this hilarious as it wasn't leaking like this prior to the fix, but I tell them it's ok as we plan on renovating the pool in the fall anyway. 6/3 The pool finally started to clear up and was looking really good. They came out one or two more times between the last date I listed and 6/3 and it seemed like we were out of the woods. There were only three things that were wrong with the pool right now which were all fairly minor: 1. The valves were all turned to concentrate on circulating water from the main drain through the filter and so the spa spillover wasn't working. 2. There were a few large green spots on the bottom of the pool that were likely too hard to see when the pool was cloudy and I thought should be cleaned. 3. The pump has been running non-stop since 5/18 because timer tabs were not added to the pool's pump timer. (The previous pump controlled this electronically with an onboard system). 6/5 Left a message Friday afternoon. The pool had started to turn green again (I can only assume from the large, growing green blotches on the bottom). 6/8 Well, right now I have no timer tabs and the pump has been running nonstop since the beginning of this. The pool is dark dark green and the pump is leaking like a sieve. All in all I had to call them a couple of times each week since this started to try to figure out when the heck they were coming out and in the end I still had no real idea what was going to happen day to day. The idea of the pool cleanup IMO is that the pool would be returned to its natural blue and clean state and not once did our pool reach that "zero point". Despite this, the personnel are very professional and seem competent. But their unwillingness to jump on this issue and squash it before it turns into a 20 day affair is terrible. I'm sure if they were slightly more willing to come back out when they said they were going to it may not have devolved like this. Of course perhaps my pool is just impossible and none of that is true, either way I'm fairly disappointed. PCS charges premium prices for their services (they admit they are not "price competitive", wha?) and I expected top notch services that blew me away. Instead I had to beg them to come out and fix their issues and incomplete work. $800 and I'm in the same or worse boat as I was before, disappointing.
Description of Work: Motor replacement for burned out motor for our pool pump that was caused by water going down too far and the motor burning up. Also a pool cleanup since the pool had been sitting for a while and was very green.

I tried to contact Vickie for several days, but every time I called, I got her voice mail. I emailed the company giving them my availability along with extensive details of the work to be performed. Mike did call to say they could do the work but again directed me to Vickie for the appointment. After leaving her a few messages, I gave up. Vickie never returned my calls and my last email to the company was never returned. They may do great work, but they were very unresponsive to my request for work. I give them an overall C because they were so highly recommended. But I will not call on them again in the future. I will find someone else more responsive to my needs.
Description of Work: I was referred to this company to do pool repair and maintenance. They were highly recommended from another Angie's List company that I have used. Mike did contact me from the company, but said I needed to speak with Vickie to schedule the actual work.

THEY'RE VERY GOOD. THEY ARE VERY THOROUGH. THEIR RESPONSE TIME IS GOOD, AND THEIR TURNAROUND TIME IS GOOD. THEY ARE VERY COURTEOUS AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, BUT THEY ARE A LITTLE PRICEY. THEY'RE WORTH IT.
Description of Work: THAT IS THE PRICE IS PER MONTH. THEY PRETTY MUCH MAINTAIN THE POOL. THEY WASH IT, KEEP CHEMICALS IN BALANCE AND CLEAN THE FILTERS. THEY DO ALL OF THE WEEK TO WEEK POOL STUFF.
