PODS Moving and Storage

1. My furniture has been in storage since June of 2022 paying over $300/mo. 2. I scheduled the container to be delivered on 3/18/23. I confirmed on Friday 3/17/2023 that it would be there. Movers were scheduled for the next morning. 3. The container was not delivered. NO notification. 4. I spent close to 4 hours on the phone with no explanation. Finally, someone came up with a weather problem. I am located appx 20 miles away. There was no weather event. 6. I was told the delivery was scheduled for 5 DAYS LATER. I never received notice of this either. I was going on a business trip. Several reps tried to contact the warehouse facility but they said NO ONE EVER ANSWERED all day. 7. They said they had no authority to reschedule. 8. I talked to 2 supervisors who were unable to reach them. They had no authority either I was told an escalation person would call me. No call. It’s been 10 days. 9. I talked to the movers who said they could go to the facility and get my furniture. 10. That took 3 customer service calls and a supervisor. I was given a date for Monday 3/20. I said I would call the movers to confirm and call back. 11. When I called back, there were 0 notes. I had to start all over. Once again, I had to wait to speak to a supervisor. 12. I told the supervisor I wanted PODS to pay for the costs I incurred. She said I could do that after I had the receipts. 13. I called back once I had the receipts. I had to start over. To date, I have no way to submit these receipts. 14. I saw that I was charged for storage again. 15. This took 2 more calls. The 1st rep told me that there was no record of my furniture being retrieved. I was disconnected. Finally, I got another rep to reverse the charge. 16. Finally I got an email from the escalation person. She thought I was asking for a repricing review for storage. She closed the case without ever. Discussing what happened with me. 17. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They replied and lied, saying that They had resolved the issue with me and that I was satisfied! 18. This has taken hours. I’ve talked to at least 15 reps plus 2 supervisors. I was unable to move in. I had to pay for lodging, meals, dog daycare, plus movers to go to their facility. Horrible nightmare.

Their work went very smooth. The POD came over really well and everything else seemed to go really well to. They were pretty darn good and I have no complaints about them. I would use them again in the future.

Overall I would rate the experience with POD as great. All the people I dealt with were courteous and professional. I would highly recommend using a POD for a long-distance move...if you have the energy for the packing and unpacking.

PODS delivered a storage box on my driveway in May and picked it up 5 days later with the initial pick-up delivery fees. They were prompt and efficient. We had given the company the address to deliver our POD to in the beginning. They waited until 3 days before we were to take delivery of the unit to tell us we needed to obtain a permit from the city we moved to to get our POD! They had known from the beginning that we would need that permit and waited until then to inform us! That was an extra $30 dollars to pay! Then our move took longer and we needed the POD for one more month. Rather than inform us what the charges were- they charged our card for not only the months' rent- understandable, but they recharged us for the insurance fee, which we understood to be a one time charge! We then found out we didn't need their insurance, we were covered under our homeowners! Where they hit us was the wallet! The convenience was not worth the money.

EVERYTHING EXCEPT MEETING THEIR SCHEDULE WAS GOOD. THE PROBLEM TO SOME DEGREE WAS THAT THEY WOULD GIVE US A WINDOW WHEN THEY WOULD PICK-UP OR DROP-OFF, AND THEY MISSED THE WINDOW BY HOURS. I WAS SCHEDULED FOR A PLANE HOURS AFTER PICK-UP AND I WAS GETTING ANXIOUS ABOUT BEING THERE FOR THE PICK-UP. THE REASON THAT I WAS ANXIOUS IS THAT YOU HAVE TO MAINTAIN CLEARANCE AROUND TRUCK. THIS WAS IN A CONDO COMMUNITY, AND I WAS USING MY RENTAL CAR TO KEEP PEOPLE AWAY FROM IT.

PODS CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TOP NOTCH. THE WERE PROMPT, COURTEOUS AND EAGER TO ANSWER ALL AND ANY QUESTIONS WE HAD. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO IS GETTING READY TO MOVE.
