Orlando Appliance Repair

Description of Work: I needed my washer repaired and looked up Orlando Appliance Repair on the internet. They scheduled a technician named Tony for later in the afternoon. I agreed to pay $60 for the service call with $20 going towards the repair. The technician showed up and diagnosed the problem as the spin switch in 5 seconds. He then quoted a total price of $186 for the repair to include $100 for the part. Though Tony was obviously annoyed, I quickly googled the part and on my first hit I found the exact same item for $4.20 on Amazon. There was also a quick video showing the repair which takes only 15 minutes. I called his office to complain that I was being charged a 2380% markup and $86 for 15 minutes of labor. Both the operator and supervisor were extremely rude and told me they had no information on parts pricing. I was told to pay the $60 if I did not want to pay for the repair and we would be done. I later called their parts department and was quoted $29.99-49.99 for the same part. I also emailed the Branch Manger who offered no help. I ended up ordering the part for $9 with shipping and replacing it myself in 25 minutes. Orlando Appliance Repair is not even a real repair shop. They sub-contract through other appliance repair companies. In this case they sent A Bargain Services Inc. You would be better off giving your money away than hiring either of these companies. I would very highly recommend that you let neither of these organizations into your home.
