Description of Work: I ordered 4 pallets of sod from these folks. Their driver delivered it and said it had been sitting in water and was yellow and wet. He stated it would be okay. As we worked through the pallets, it was very yellow matted and fell apart in our hands. Very hard to put down and we were putting down pieces at a time at the end. It was a mess. I held out hope for the best however within a day what was yellow was brown, remained matted and likely will not revitalize. When I called, I explained everything to the manager who said he would send someone by . The someone called the day he was supposed to go by and did the same thing the manager did was question how much I had watered the stuff. Of course I was only watering 6 hours a day so it was my fault that the stuff was s--- and was not taking. They were unresponsive and would not come up with a solution. Just wanted to blame me for their terrible product. I would not use these folks again and would not recommend them. There is no way that they are cutting the sod fresh if it is yellow and matted down when it is delivered.

Don persisted with this question, and I answered the same each time. He finally agreed to come out and look at it. He came on Tuesday, agreed that it looked bad, but said the runners should recover (even tho they were yellow and brown!) He asked me to wait 2 weeks and see. I told him I was going out of town for 3 wks and needed it taken care of before leaving, so I could get the property rented. I waited 1 week, while the sod finished it's dying process and called Don back. I told him there were 56 pieces that were stone cold dead. His offer was to give me 56 pieces. No delivery, no pull up, no installation, that I had already paid for once. And he would not have those 56 pieces until Monday...the day before I was to leave town for 3 weeks. He told me I was lucky he was offering the 56 pieces, that he didn't HAVE to do anything! He kept insisting that THEY don't sell dead sod...yet I had the receipt, and photos taken and dated the day after the receipt. VERY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES!!
Description of Work: Purchased 2 pallets St Augustine Floratem Sod for replacement of lawn.I had a 'friend' pick up, deliver, and install 2 pallets of Floratem sod for a rental property. I instructed him in what to look for as far as appearance of the sod, when selecting the pallets. Since he had done the same for my private home 3 weeks earlier, with good outcome, I didn't check his progress during the work. After the sod was installed, I went to check on it. More than half of the already installed sod was stone dead or rotting/dying and the smell was horrible. My friend said he thought it was just stressed and would recover. He is not experienced in sod, but since I've have several yards done over the years, I knew better. On Monday I called One Stop Sod and spoke to the Manager, Don. Initially he kept asking me if I had watered it. Since the sod was purchased on Saturday AM, June 9 - and installed on Sunday AM June 10, I explained that watering was a moot point, but yes, I had watered it regardless.
