Leak Doctor damaged property during a service visit, refuse to pay for the damages, and sent me a doctored work order with my signature on it. The Leak Doctor has ignored my requests for their insurance/bond information, has not accepted responsibility for damaging my home during a service appointment, and has pushed my requests for a resolution to the side. In addition, they have sent me a doctored work order with my signature (proof available) which is EXTREMELY fraudulent. The work order includes comments that were made on February 18, 2020 but references details that only occurred on February 20, 2020. ADDITIONAL DETAILS A Leak Doctor Technician stopped by my property on Thursday, February 20, 2020, to detect a leak at approximately 9:51 a.m. He sent me a text message from his personal cell confirming his arrival. During his inspection he damaged my property. During a "non-invasive" inspection, removed the crown molding, cut through the sheetrock (leaving a hole) and damaged the bathroom vanity in the process. In addition, unknown to me, he arrived without the necessary equipment to perform the inspection. In the end, he was unable to locate the leak, offered not to charge me for the mistakes, and offered to schedule an appointment where somebody with the proper equipment would come out. He cited that he did not know why dispatch sent him out without telling him what he needed, e.g. thermography equipment, etc. I declined his offer and reached out for remedies to this damage and insurance information on March 17, 2020. On March 26, 2020 the owner called me from a new number (portions of this call is recorded with his knowledge) and informed me that they in fact located the leak (not true) and would not be fixing the damages. I was not pleased by their level of service and was hoping it would be a simple fix but it is not. Instead, I have been ignored by this company and have been left with costly damages in tenant-occupied property. This is preventing me from properly marketing of this property.

Would never use their services again.
Description of Work: At the request of Ramage Plumbing of Mims, FL, the Leak Doctor came to my house to find where I was having a leak in the floor. He listened to the floor and determined that the leak was in our Dinette, where we had recently retiled the floor. We requested another plumbing company come to our house to check, because I wasn't sure of the Leak Doctor's finding. The other company stated that they had had a lot of problems with the Leak Doctor saying the leak was somewhere other than it really was. They checked using their techniques, and found the leak 7 feet away and in another room. Unfortunately before the other company came and fix the leak (where they found it in the other room), I had paid Ramage Plumbing $475 for the Leak Doctor.

Leak Doctors was able to get a techician out the same day. I had investigated several thoughts on my own but was unable to determine the problem. Service tech looked at several areas and determined to was a bad sprinkler control valves allowing water to slowly leak from each head. Waiting on irrigation company to come out and replace valves but I feel pretty sure he has found the problem. It's not cheap but I feel it was worth it. I would use them again,

The company was very prompt in returning my call and scheduling a technician to go out to look for a interior wall leak. I had tried several other companies with leak detection services and no one was able to come out for at least 1-2 weeks. Leak Doctor was able to come over the following day. They found and repaired the leak. Very pleased with their prompt response.

After having several months of $200 water bills, I called Leak Doctor to find my leak. When I called, the staff was very friendly and helpful and I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. They were very upfront about the cost of the diagnosis ($400)and repair and I was prepared for the cost based on other reviews. The technician was very prompt and friendly. He found the leak and noted that there were none others outside the house. The repair did take a while but was completed. I highly recommend them as they have the lastest and greatest equipment to diagnose and fix water leaks.

. First off I'd like to point out my review of Leak Doctor is based (almost) solely on my experience with the technician sent to my house (Steven). To me, Steven WAS Leak Doctor .. I had litle contact with anyone else in the organization. If Steven is representative of how the entire company operates, I have no problem recommending their services. He was polite, well spoken, thorough and professional. As mentioned earlier, it took him 30 minutes +- to find the leak and then he spent some additional time tracing the water line the leak was associated with. After getting my ok, he drilled down through the tile grout and slab to confirm his findings .. which were correct. He ensured he had correctly and accurately located the problem then marked it for the plumber. He even patched where he had drilled .. even though it is going to be torn up again (hopefully soon). I'm now waiting for the plumber to come fix the leak. If I had it to do over again, I would have called Leak Dr. first. I say this because although we heard water running there was no sign of water in the house .. no wet spots or signs of water on the baseboards. We apparently had a slab or some other hidden leak that most plumbers are not equipped to find. I lost a day and a trip charge fee by going to the plumber first . I'm not complaining about plumbers or trip charges. I understand that driving a fully equipped truck to a customer's home is a cost of doing business. I also understand that any time a plumber spends driving to my home is time he isn't spending with other paying jobs. I'm ok with paying someone for the entire time they spend working on my situation. I'm just saying that knowing what I know now, hiring someone trained and equipped to locate a hidden leak is the logical first step. I'll review the plumber (who is also on Angies List) after the work is complete.
Description of Work: There was a sound of running water in the house even though everything that might use water was shut off. Called a plumber who came out and advised that we contact a leak detection company. Called Leak Doctors late afternoon and they sent a technician out the next morning. The technician arrived on schedule and explained what he would be doing. He initially checked that all faucets were off and everything else in the house that might use water were not using water. Then went out to the water meter. After punching some things into his cell phone he gave me an estimate of the size of the leak. It took him about 30 minutes to locate the leak. After marking the leak (in the slab under the kitchen floor) , he brought in a different piece of equipment to determine how the water line ran in that part of the house. The technician stated he was 99% sure he had located the leak but asked permission to drill through the grout in the tile and confirm. Turns out he was spot on with where the leak was. Since I was referred to Leak Dr. by a plumber the technician suggested doing business with the same plumber who gave the referral. Prior to leaving the technician asked if I had any additional questions and left me his cell number in the event I had additional questions or the plumber needed more information.

Tech came in, I told him approximately where the leak was and in 10 -15 minutes, he found it, put an X on the tile (the leak was behind) and was ready to go. Paid $295 to find a leak (stupid me) Should have called a plumber in the first place, he could have found the leak and I would have saved $295. $295 for 15 minutes equals an hourly rate of close to $1200. Looking at their website I thought it would be turn key. From their website and quot; In summary, we re-state that when a leak appears, we Find it, Fix it, and Finish it.and quot; This implies turn-key to me..

Used water hoses and a special camera to locate the leak in the exterior of my home.
Description of Work: Called Leak Doctor today with much hesitation because I knew it wasn't a plumbing leak, rather a water intrusion issue somewhere on the exterior of my home. I knew it was going to be a challenging leak to locate. Quinten with Leak Doctor did an excellent job through process of elimination finding the leak. Their equipment and expertise really helped hone in on the problem area rather quickly. Needless to say I was overwhelmed with joy when he came in to tell me he had already found a leak I spent over an hour and a half the day before trying to find myself. This is the second time I have used Leak Doctor and they are 2 for 2, would definitely recommend using them. They were punctual, professional and fair.

The supply line for the toilet in my rental property broke, flooding the entire unit. Unfortunately for me, the tenant who was supposed to move in the week before failed to do so, and I was out of town, so by the time I found out about it, all 1400 sq ft, plus the neighbors, got water. When I contacted Leak Doctor, they were running on a very tight schedule, but were able to get out to my place to access the damage fairly quickly. If only I had insurance, this wouldn't be an issue at all, but somehow I forgot all about it. The estimate crushed me, I was looking in more than $4000 in water damage. Not having any other options, I asked them to please take care of it. It took about three days and all kinds of equipment, but the place was finally back to normal. They didn't have to drill walls, like some people told me and we even ran the mold test to see if there was any. When it came time to paying, they gave me a great deal, knocking off quite a chunk to help me pay for this disaster easier. Again, if only I had insurance, this would of been just a nuisance, instead I paid the price for my lack of responsibility :( I want to thank Gwen and George at Leak Doctor for their help.

The Tech arrived slightly early then schedule which was good. He went right to work and found the slab leak in less then thirty minutes. I had another plumbing company that came out days earlier that could not find the exact location of the leak and want to do the trail and error thing. The Leak Doctor found the exact spot, just one small square hole cut into the slab.

I could hear water running in my home, but nothing was turned on. A friend told me they had a similar problem a year ago and that I should call the Leak Doctor. I found them on line and called the office. The receptionist was knowledgeable and professional and she assured me that everything would be ok. The office called to notify me that the tech had been dispatched and to expect him within 30 minutes. The tech arrived on time and was courteous and very professional, he wore booties to protect my home and he took the time to explain what he was doing and answered any questions I asked. He used his special equipment and promptly located my leak and he also made the repair. I had never had a leak before and hope to never get another one...but if I do, I will definitely call the Leak Doctor.

Over the last month my water bill rose significantly and I started to notice water was showing up in my home I called my plumber to see If it was a problem with my sink plumbing but it wasn't so he suggested that we call out the Leak Doctor to properly locate the water leak. I called and the staff was professional and prompt with putting me into their schedule which was the next day. The day of the appointment the office gave me a courtesy call letting me know that they were in route which worked out great unlike some other companies that tie up your schedule the whole day waiting on them to get there. Once the technician got there he got straight to business after about a half hour he found and put a temp patch on what he called a slab leak. The price may seem kind of steep but after receiving my new water bill and seeing it back to normal was well worth the money and any further damage the water could have caused. Would definitely recommend and use this company again. Thanks again Leak Doctor
Description of Work: Water started showing up in my home, called the Leak Doctor because my plumber couldn't find where the water was coming from, within an half hour to an hour the leak was located and a patch placed to stop the leak. The technician did a great job at promptly finding the leak.

This is 175 bucks thrown away. I don't know how these folks can do this in good conscience. The technician said he could go ahead and start digging up my yard....but then the fee would just go through the roof. He advised me to live with the leak, because it just wasn't worth all the money I'd spend trying to find it. Should you call this company? You be the judge.
Description of Work: My water billed doubled in a one month period. I called the Leak Doctor. Why? Because they claim they can find any leak. (Shouldn't they be called The Leak Diagnostician?) The Leak Doctor sent a technician to my house. He used sophisticated listening devices--hand-held wand sensors and headphones--and "listened" to every water valve outside in inside my house. This process took about half and hour. Did he hear the leak that made my water bill double? That would be no. Did he charge me $175 anyway? That would be yes.

Response from Leak Doctor
The Leak Doctor follows a consistent methodology to perform leak detection services. It is our goal to provide a high level of service and professionalism without adverse consequences to our customers. The Leak Doctor appreciates the member's concern regarding this matter and regret that the customer did not contact us directly to allow us to discuss this issue and reach a resolution. We performed leak detection at the member's residence and it was determined that there were no leaks inside the home. The technician proceeded with his inspection of the exterior of the home which included checking the main supply line and the irrigation system. It was determined that there was a small leak in the irrigation system. The meter was timed and it had a loss of 3/8 of a gallon in 15 minutes. All the zone boxes were hidden and neither the technician nor the homeowner was able to locate the zone boxes. The homeowner was notified that due to the size of the leak, and the hidden zone boxes, it would not be cost effective to pursue locating the leak under these circumstances. According to our company’s pricing structure, the homeowner was appropriately charged a service charge and not the full detection rate because the leak could not be pin-pointed.

Jeffery Reed came to our house to help find the location of a pinhole leak and to give us advice about whether or not we would need to re-pipe or just repair the one leak. He brought in all these cool tools that helped him find the exact location of the leak, which was creeping up through solid concrete slab. He, then, proceeded to go throughout the entire house checking for more leaks. He found another one on the far side of the house! It was in the wall, behind the shower stall. He pulled off the shower hardware and was able to show it to me via this really cool camera snake. We were able to make up our minds as to what direction of repair we would be doing without any regrets.
Description of Work: We had pinhole leak in our plumbing that was coming through the concrete flooring. Jeffery Reed came into the house and was able to pin-point exactly where that leak was located. He went through the entire house and found another leak (that we knew nothing about) that was in my son's bathroom.

Leak Doctor arrived earlier than we were told which was good. One man with listening equipment said he could only locate our leak within a few feet because the pipe is plastic. He was here using his equipment less than one hour and charged us $250.00. We thought that price was way over the reasonable cost. I went to Angie's List and saw that there are no recommendations for Leak Doctors on the list. Just be ware that this company will cost you big time!!

THE LEAK DOCTOR, PROVIDE UP FRONT COSTS FOR OUR SERVICES PRIOR TO SCHEDULING ANY APPOINTMENTS AND THE CUSTOMER SIGNS OFF ON THE PAPERWORK PRIOR TO THE START OF THE JOB, IN WHICH THEY ARE ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF OUR COSTS. OUR FEE FOR RESIDENTIAL SERVICES IN THE ORLANDO AREA IS A FLAT RATE OF $250, TO LOCATE A LEAK. ON AVERAGE IT TAKES ABOUT AN HOUR AND IN SOME CASES A LOT LONGER. THE LEAK DOCTOR HAS AN EXCELLENT TRACK RECORD AND WE BELIEVE OUR PRICES ARE MORE THAN FAIR FOR THE SERVICE WE PROVIDE AND OUR PRICES ARE COMPARABLE TO OTHER LEAK DETECTION COMPANIES. OUR COMPANY HAS AN EXCELLENT TRACK RECORD AND WE WORK WITH HOMEOWNERS, PLUMBERS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANIES AND OTHER LARGE BUSINESSES THAT USE OUR SERVICES ON A REGULAR BASIS. REPEAT CUSTOMERS ARE AN INDICATION FOR US THAT WE ARE DOING OUR JOB WELL. WE HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS ALMOST 15 YEARS AND WE ARE VERY PROUD OF THE SERVICES WE HAVE PROVIDED OUR CUSTOMERS OVER THE YEARS.

The company representative arrived within the hour after being contacted. He was exceedingly courteous and professional, and spent more than an hour and a half, from start to finish.
Description of Work: Examined all the indoor piping connections to discover if there were any leaks in the pipes. Did a survey of the water stained wall and ceiling indoors and then did an inspection, through the attic, to try to locate cause of the water damage. Was successful in locating the cause (a hole in the roof). He confirmed this by climbing on the roof in the area of the hole he found.
