+ -1 moreMike is AMAZING! Great work, great ideas and on top of it all he and his staff are awesome folks. He is in constant communication; promptly replies to text messages and even though he can't be on my job constantly due to other jobs he always keeps things progressing. He even sends photos of work progress when I'm at work. Casual, easy going style; very personable. We plan to continue having Just Docks do additional work so if there is more to add to our review we will. So far we are happy to report that we couldn't be happier. Be careful: His ideas and workmanship are so good that you'll want him to keep doing more work!
Description of Work: Raised sagging dock corner; replaced planks; installed lakefront wall.

Description of Work: Let me start off by saying stay away from these crooks! I purchased a new home on the lake and was very excited about getting a boat dock. I had Mike from just docks come by and provide a quote to do the job. The numbers sounded good and he seemed as if he knew what he was talking about. A few days later i agreed to hire them to do the job. He immediately comes by and ask for a draw. I was very skeptical about this due to the fact his proposal / quote was plan paper from office max. He said he needed money for lumber to get started. He wanted the check made out to his personal name and his hands were shaking when he took the check. I should have went with my gut and fired them from that point. In the next few days about a 1/4 of the lumber did show up and few guys showed up to do the work, (no workers comp, insurance, etc) as each day went on they were requesting more money for payroll and material. I didn't see much progress so i declined any more payments. After about 4 days the city came by and shut down the job saying we needed permits, DEP clearance, engineer drawings and a stop work order was issued. After calling Mike which would never answer his phone and reply with text messages said he thought we were "grandfathered" in. After doing some research Mike and just docks are NOT even licensed to pull permits or do the work. They try to sneak in your backyard and do the work without getting caught. And when they do, they bail the job and never answer or return any calls. He is a lying thief that takes money and runs. All said and done i had to take all the slack up on my own and nearly ended up in court with 250.00 dollar a day fines until this was permitted the right way. I ended up hiring Extreme marine to pick up and finish just docks MESS! They helped me 110% of the way in getting engineer drawings permitting and inspections. Only if i would have hired them from the start i would not be out 8500.00 and in a mess with the city. Don't make the mistake i did and stay away from Just docks. Scam artist, thieves, liars.

+ -1 moreI had hired Just Docks to replace a burnt out lift moter that I had on my dock for 6 years. Initially he was very responsive, said he could do it, and even got me a refurbished motor for $380. But after installing it, it did not work. After about 25 phone calls, and numerous visits to my house, the told me I had an electric problem that would take about $1800 to fix by adding an electric line to my dock. I told him that the previous motor worked fine for 6 years with the same electric. He then sent a non-certified electrician ( a friend of his) to my house. I told him, that I did not want someone that was not certified, especially electrical around water. Although I had a motor that worked well he insisted that the reason the motor that he installed did not work was because I needed more voltage going down the the dock. He argued with my certified electrician that I hired and he argued with me after weeks of trying to deal with this. McNally does not conduct busienss in a professional manner. Over a $380 motor he lost my business and left me in the lurch with a motor that does not work as he refused to return it. He hung up on me during our last conversation.
Description of Work: I would not recommend this company at all! We hired them to replace a boat lift on our dock.
