The job turned out well but had many issues with the plants, irrigation, and where plants were placed. However, Mr. Madison and all workers were very polite, nice, and professional. Plus all issues were addressed. Thought prices were a bit high but they bent over backward to make us happy and included some extras for which we were not charged. We do not expect to do anymore landscaping so probably will not use them again for that reason.

John created a beautiful design and presentation. He did exactly what I asked, however the design was more than my budget would allow at this time.

John was very professional. He showed up on time to access the project. We had already talked to other contractors who didn't really get what we were trying to accomplish. John came back with some estimates that were higher than we wanted to pay. We were able to talk it through and change/cut out parts of the project to get it more to the level we were expecting. It was still a little higher than we wanted but it had to do with the materials we chose. I had to do some leg work and get the pavers cheaper from Home Depot and stain them myself. The workers showed up on time on the scheduled day. There was a shipment of rocks that did not show up the first day so the workers left early. They showed up the next day and nearly completed the job but they ran out of rocks. John brought more rocks at no cost to us the next day and completed the job.

he came back to inspect the job once it was done.Did not leave the project the same way it was found. Use the wrong rocks.The first btach was the wrong color. The second batch was the right color, but the wrong size. Did not supervise sufficiently. We went with him even though he wasn't anywhere near the cheapest, but the professional brochure and materials swayed me. I thought that here was a man who took pride in what he did, but I don't think he really cared, even with the prospect of more work in the future.

Great design and presentation but terrible execution and follow up. After he got paid it was impossible to get him to respond to issues we had with the installation and product. I even saw one of his employees doing work at a neighbors and showed him some of the issues we still had and never got a call from any one. Very disappointing for that much hard earned spent.

Everything went smoothly even with a minor scheduling hiccup. John was sincerely sorry for the minor delay and made it worth our while by adding a functional and further decorative touch to the plans @ no cost. The crews were on time, hard-working and left the yard a bit cleaner than they found it. Their skill and craftsmanship are evident. The materials used appear first-rate. At the risk of sounding insincere, dealing with John Madison made my wife and I feel a bit more than just names on a work order. We felt that John and his workers actually cared about what they were doing.

They came to my house, promised a design and proposal but I never heard back from these people. They are really not interested in the little guy, they only want the million dollar homes. My project was for a large circular drive, my land is half an acre, I was ready to upgrade and the money is in the bank. Too bad they lost my business. Don't waste your time. UPDATED: After I read their statement that they had indeed finished a proposal (although they never presented it to me), I called the company and stated that I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt if they presented the proposal. They stated that they do not do business with customers who leave negative feedback on Angie's list. Essentially, they BOYCOTT people who are dissatisfied with their business. It simply confirms my initial impression that these guys are not out there to provide good service. I'm glad I already picked someone else to do my project.

Their estimate was more than double the cost of the other estimates received. The design failed to incorporate anything we asked for and was one of the least impressive we saw. The gentleman who presented us with the design and quote was very nice and professional. We selected a different landscape architect and contractor who did a great job for half the money!

Fantastic! John is an extremely good listener. I set up an inital meeting--told him what I was thinking for the landscape design--he suggested a few things too--then within 48hrs I had a proposed design/estimate. He walked me through his propsal in person. I knew then his company was the one! I chose his designed and within a week- installation had begun! Quick, professional and courteous! That was 5 years ago and I still have people walking by taking pictures of my front yard and asking who did my lanscape. I always reccomend John-so much so that I asked him for a stack of business card to hand out when people ask--I ve gone through 2 stacks--lol.

They were way too expensive and didn't really layout the way I wanted them to do so I didn't use them. I wanted my whole front yard, all the shrub and bushes all re-landscaped. I want all the stuff torn out and new stuff put in so it's a kind of redesign. They come out with all the stunts and stuff but it wasn't close to what I thought it could be could. They're an expert but I know what kind of what I wanted. They 're very professional, when they come out they have a fancy brochure and they make a 3D disk of your lawn on what they think it might look like when it's done. There were one or two ideas I liked but they were way over priced. There presentation was nice.

Several landscapers were contacted for review and proposals. John Madison stood out for his responsiveness. The home was purchased in December and the landscaping was non existent. The irrigation didn't work and lighting was broken. In 3 weeks Madison was back with a proposal to put in new plantings; remove two trees which were in bad shape; put in irrigation and landscape lighting; remove fencing to open up the property. The price was high but included all of the above. The project took about three weeks and not only I like it but so do the neighbors. From my experience, a project like this needed to come along in sequence and not be done piecemeal. Madison scheduled it out.

We were very pleased with John Madison Landscaping. We will use them again and refer them to our friends. John listened to our ideas and worked with his team to come up with a creative, but functional landscaping plan that met our needs and turned out beautifully. His crew was easy to interact with and kept us well informed of the progress made at the end of each day. We found it easy to communicate with John and he always returned our calls or emails promptly.

John and his team did a wonderful job. They were prompt, courteous and professional. The design John came up with matched what I had described I was looking for and was executed beautifully. I'm very pleased with the work and have received a number of compliments from the neighbors. All in all, great value for money! Will use John again soon for my backyard.

Went HORRIBLY!! John Madison did come to my home. I was left a voicemail by his assistant about 7 days later about setting up a time for John to come back to my house to give review plans on his laptop and see the estimate. I asked for an estimate to be emailed to me first. I did not ask for the plans, just the estimate. It has been about 6 days or so since and still no estimate. I called back once already, but then I called today and was told that John doesn't usually send out an estimate. I'm sorry but you can't take up my time to meet during the week and discuss my plans and not even provide me an estimate. I've never heard of someone not providing an estimate. Obviously, Mr. Madison wants to try to do a sales job by coming back to the home. Well that's not the way business is supposed to operate. Use this company only if you want to do business the way the owner sees fit rather than as a partnership with a customer. By the way, Mr. Madison never even bothered to call me back himself regarding my desire for an estimate. ***You can see by the provider response that "John" Madison didn't even bother to write it himself. This man emailed me asking me to take down my post and a series of emails went back and forth. Never did he offer an apology nor did he ever offer an estimate. I clearly asked for an estimate from the beginning....who doesn't. Beyond that I left 3 messages asking for an estimate. I only got a response back after I posted on Angieslist. True case of buyer beware. IT'S CLEAR FROM THE COMPANY RESPONSE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE GIVEN AN ESTIMATE!!!

Everything was great! John was very professional and pleasant to work with throughout the introductory and designing process. All of the workers were professional and courteous as well, and introduced themselves to us prior to working in our yard (Andy and Steve). Estimates were precise on price and timing. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

John came to our house and spent a lot of time designing exactly what we were looking for - beautiful landscaping, but low maintenance. They did a great job, but there were a few things that I wanted to change after the fact. He rushed over and made some additional suggestions. The yard looks great and we would highly recommend!!

Andy arrived on time, professional and pleasant . We were surprised at how little he offered as far as ideas since we were viewing him as a landscape expert. My husband had to folliow up and call to ask for estimate after a week which isn't a big deal; however, everyone else we have used on Angie's List ususally got back to us within 2-3 days or advised it might take longer. We had another estimate from a different vendor and wanted to make a decision. Did offer a couple of suggestions on flowering tress i asked about. were made however bid was still substantially higher than others.

John was always responsive. Gave us a beautiful yard design according to our wishes. Was amenable to design changes. Kept to schedule, installing the yard as promised. His workers were very good although occasionally not as careful as we'd like. Overall a very good experience. We'd use John Madison again.

I called John Madison to come and give us an estimate for hardscape/softscape work. He came at the appointed time, taking time to provide us with some ideas to freshen up our yard. John told us he would get back with us with a diagram, list of plants and the pricing for the job. We were not in a time crunch and with the Christmas and New Year holiday approaching, we anticipated delays. John laid out his plan, we agreed to it. The job was estimated at taking two full days but it actually took three full days, utilizing a crew of four. Four pallets of pavers were delivered prior to the job starting. The crew used exactly that amount, with no need to order more pavers. We had previously met with John at the paver distributor to select the color scheme. The installation crew did a great job. Chandler's paver work was outstanding. It was obvious he and his crew cared about the finished product. The end result was worth the price we paid. If you want a well designed landscape and one the neighbors will rave about, call John Madison Landscaping.

I didn't think they took their time; they were in a hurry. He planted roses where there was no sun. I asked him if they were going to die and he said no but they wouldn't grow much. There was zero sun. I told him I was losing sleep over those roses because they cost me a fortune and I was afraid they were going to die. He said they wouldn't die but they wouldn't bloom very much, if any. They are still there. He went to get some plants and his truck broke down so he left his workers here for 4 hours with no food or water. I kept taking them out water. They finally laid down and went to sleep. They stuck the roses in when he returned and they swooshed away. They planted some yellow flowers that I didn't want. They did plant all the roses that I had wanted. They were real nice people and they did show up. Their price was probably high. It was about 23 rose bushes. I could have probably gotten them cheaper but they were all full blooms. I sent him one email and he never sent anything back. I might use them for a small amount of stuff but they didn’t take their time with planting the roses. I told him he needed to tell his guys to slow down and take their time. I wouldn’t use them for a larger job.

I got estimates from three companies. He was too expensive. They were polite and friendly. They were responsive. The only reason I didn't go with them was because they were too expensive. I would consider getting a quote from them again.

Nothing was accomplished. I wasted 2 weeks.

From start to finish the remodel was exceptional. John Madison was always contactable and on-time. From day one to the last day the experience was an A+.

The work was done in a very timely manner. It was done in four day. He also does landscaping. He had different things that he could bring in to finish the job off with. I am very happy with the quality of the workmanship and the timely manner in which he completed it. He made a very aesthetically pleasing plan. I have gotten a lot of compliments about my back yard.

We ended up not doing any work at the work. It was wonderful and we were very impressed with them but it turned out to be more expensive than we expected.
