In Phaze Electric started business in May of 2009. We are unlike any other electrical service and contracting company found in Orlando and the Central Florida area. We pay our technicians exceptionally higher than our competitors. We all understand the value of reputation and thank you in advance for the opportunity to earn your trust in business.. Most of our work comes from Angie's List and other online companies that are based on reviews and feedback from customers. We are an award winning company that strives to stay on top of current competitiveness. When contacting via-message center/email, please leave your phone number and zip code for easier, faster, and more convenient service.
The heat in the cramped attic in an Orlando summer exceeded 160°. Nevertheless Terrie managed to complete this work in two days. She has done a fine job. All the wires are secured. The work required more junction boxes than originally anticipated. Nevertheless In Phaze Electric honoured their quote without complaint. They also completed the paper work required by the insurance company in a prompt manner. We have instructed our property manager to use this company for any future electric work.
Description of Work: The ceiling of our property contained nearly three dozen incorrectly joined electrical wires - a potential fire risk that meant no company would insure our property. Another company quoted us over $1,000 for the job of fitting proper junction boxes and securing the wires.

I contacted owner Tony of In Phaze to have a repalcement lighting fixture hung, and to have another fixture's wiring repaired or replaced. Nick was supposed to show up Tuesday, 9-24-13 at 5pm. Nick called well after 5pm saying he could not make it as the job he was on was taking way too long. He said he would be out the following day and asked what time worked best for me. I told him 8am would be good so he would not get tied up on other jobs and should allow plenty of time for him to get to me during the day. He then said something like " whoa, I gotta a lot of jobs going on!". I then asked for noon which he also couldn't make. So I then asked what worked for HIM as he said 4:30-5:00 time frame. The next day came, and still no show or call from Nick at 5:30. I left messages which were never answered, and I called Nick the owner. Nick apologized, and said this was unacceptable and that he would call Nick to get in touch with me. Nick never called, and when I called Tony back he apologized, but made no further attempt to placate me or to reschedule. I do understand this somewhat, as I was VERY angry about being stood up for two consecutive days, with lousy communications to boot. Before I wrote this review, today, 10-3-13, I called Tony again to see if I could reschedule. He was honest and said he couldn't get to me for a week, which is OK, but during the conversation he said he was having trouble with Nick due to Nick's schooling conflicts. After that I had no interest in a reschedule. Edit 10-5: I read negative D/F reviews again and I found that Tony mentioned that two people were no longer with the company, I thought they were fired, but on a reread they may have left for other reasons. So I have modified my original comments to be factual. Also, it looks like Tony tries to address and respond to all issues which is a plus for him, but I do think major follow up and communication issues exist. I was very upset when writing my first comments and may have been a bit too harsh on owner Tony, but ratings my are accurate.
Description of Work: Nothing, never communicated or showed up.

Response from In Phaze Electric, Inc.
Dear member, you wrote an honest review which I am appreciative of. Nick is having issues trying to juggle this job and his college courses at the same time. Nick has been with the company longer than any other that has worked here. His heart is not 100% dedicated to In Phaze and due to that I am changing things around. He will no longer be running calls. He will be assisting others on larger jobs. If you look back and read the most recent bad reviews they are all from Nicks customers. Looking back on earlier reviews as you commented, you are correct, I have had some real cons come and go. It is interesting starting a business. When I wrote my business model I distinctly remember hovering over the document, rubbing my head and realizing that finding good people would be the greatest challenge. I have been in this industry for 22 years. Like my customers i know all too well the majority of individuals that work in this industry and construction overall. I now own my own business mainly due to this fact. I did not like most of what i have seen in my career. My goal has been and always will be to strive to be different than any other company. To be honest, respectful, punctual, and quite honestly the best at what we do. Finding good people has been exactly what I thought, very difficult. Being a business owner I see all too well what this economical environment will do to someone. For the good guys, they have lost passion in the dream. For the bad guys they have gotten more bad and for the terrible they are cheating and stealing a living. Some just sit home and wait on a check from the government. My greatest challenge is inspiring hope into someone. This requires me to maintain hope and faith in a system that I see as quite honestly going in the wrong direction. If you were to ask any of the other guys we have on staff I believe you would find that I have conveyed this dream to them. In these days and times the only true motivator is the dollar...at least for now. Our electricians make more than any others in central Florida. My honesty is not just to my customers it is to my crew as well. The issues that I mention are very pressing to me. I don't normally mention my faith in business because I don't want to offend anyone but I feel encouraged to share my motivation. Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” I do apologize for your inconvenience. You will receive a discount if you choose to call us again. Tony Taylor CEO

I dealt with one of their electricians and I have to give them and him an A for everything. Actually, I have called them back twice since the first date, and for any electrical needs that I have, I would be calling them. The person whom I dealt with was Nick, and I have to give him the highest mark.
Description of Work: In Phaze Electric replaced my main electrical box. It is an expensive job no matter who does it. He also did some rewiring, installed some ceiling fans, and a couple of odd jobs here and there. He had done a lot of work for that price.

We inquired about installation of a TV mount and TV with cable/electric being ran (which was already located directly behind the wall) a very simple job. During our initial call to set up the appointment my husband made them away that it was a concrete wall. The service tech came out as scheduled and said he would need to reschedule because it would take longer because it was a concrete wall. Keep in mind it's 4pm on a Friday night. We reschedule for the next Sat. at 11-12, he calls at 10 to reschedule due to being sick. Which is fine, if you?re sick, you?re sick. So once again we reschedule for the following Saturday. When the scheduled appt. time passed we text the technician and he never responded so we call Tony the owner. After speaking with Tony, he said he would contact the tech and call us back, well he NEVER called back. That is 3 appointments and we still do not have our TV installed. A simple phone call would have been nice. We canceled plans on Sat. to have this TV installed and they never showed. I am shocked because based on all the other reviews on Angie's List they are rated high. Why us?

Hi member, I distinctly remember you because of the failure to handle the matter. I honestly don't know what has happened the end of August and the beginning of September but our call volume doubled. We found ourselves completely overwhelmed and a handful of customers were not handled properly. To make up for this situation we are willing to do the job for half of what was originally quoted. I apologize for the situation and if we can't do this job for you we will discount the first hour on any other job you may need us for. I hope this helps the situation and I hope to hear from you. I called In Phaze hoping they would service my area. I found them on Angie's List and was impressed by the frequent and CURRENT good reviews. Tony set up an initial visit with Jamie promptly. Jamie came by to see the various things we wanted done. One was the catalyst for the visit, the others depended on how much the cost would be. Jamie gave me a comprehensive explanation of what all the tasks involved. He then emailed me the estimate, each task with a separate cost so I could easily decide to drop one if it seemed too much. I purchased the remotes for the fans based on his advice and scheduled the time for all the work to be completed via email. He was prompt, neat and fast and we are loving all the improvements. What clinched my confidence in Jamie was when he explained how he needed to re-wire the wall for moved outlets. Somebody who might want to cut corners would have left the live old outlets in the wall (behind a new built in), but Jamie properly moved them. That may seem obvious, but a conversation with another electrician previously, proved to me that people do suggest such things. Its not enough to do things so a layman things they are ok, they need to be done safely and according to code. Would you use this provider in the future ... Yes is not enough, Absolutely!

In Phaze looked at our electrical equipment and said we already had the 200 amp electrical box, so we didn't need the upgrade. They did suggest we might want a new surge protector because ours was 15 years old and they're designed for 10 or so years. So, I had them install the new surge protector, which I paid for separately. I was very impressed that they told me not to waste my money, and I will use them for any future electrical needs. They were also prompt and very professional.

The work started off well enough. Friendly, apparently competent workers. However, the replacement of the fuse box in the garage required making a larger hole than was in place, and the resultant drywall "repair" is lumpy and cracked. The a/c electrical box was significantly smaller than the one it replaced and a 2" hole was left in the outside wall. There was one troublesome circuit that required the owner to come take over and, while he was there, check the other work that had been done. At that point, he found that incorrect light switches had been installed and changed them out.
Description of Work: Rewired all outlets, replaced entire fuse box and a/c electrical box, updated main electrical box.

Absolutely excellent service. Electricial technician (Jamie) was running a little behind on schedule but called ahead to let me know. He was only 10 minutes off schedule. What a difference. Some shops you have to wait all day for them to come over and call them to find out when they'll be there. Then, they treat you like you're lucky they came. Jamie came ready to do the job from start to finish just as I requested. Very polite and unintrusive. Completely cleaned up job area after completing the work. I would highly recommend this company and their employee Jamie.
