Response from In Phaze Electric, Inc.
This review I really don't understand. I did this inspection personally. I found many issues with improper wiring of switches, no gfi's, improper breaker sizes and broken receptacles throughout the home. I did a very complete and thorough inspection checking every electrical item in the home. They say that the business owner really has a finger on the pulse of economy and I can tell you this and i may have said this before in one of my replies to a review. Just 13 years ago the price I gave you would have been $100-$200 higher and likely sold on the spot. I, knowing this business inside and out having done it for the last 15 years in Orlando can tell you that the prices we were once able to give as fair is now being pushed down on average 20% lower than in those times. We all understand that the economy is bad but when you tack on the fact that our cost is 20% higher for gas, materials and everything else where does that leave us? This is a 40% cut in pricing no matter how you look at it. This is SCARY to me. Heading towards a third world scenario. I know that many, many more people are having unlicensed electricians do their electrical work and what I see now even is the mistakes that these unlicensed electricians are doing. 25% of our service calls are going behind these workers and some of what we find is quite scary. We are professionals working on your home, on equipment that can burn your home down with you and your family in it or at a minimum the fire inspector finds the faulty wiring and refuses to cover your losses. That is why we as a company carry a $1 million liability policy. There are absolutely no margins to work with anymore and the only thing we can work is our reputation. On top of everything else we have the gov. tightening things up and at the same time cutting things out on their end. For instance; you can purchase nearly anything you want from the internet but try getting a permit electronically. The contractor permitting process is in the stone-age and forget doing anything about it or you will find yourself under the microscope. I am fearful as a business owner. Orlando is a robust economy and culture, I cannot imagine what contractors and businesses must be going through in other not so robust areas of this country. It is like American business is under attack. I cannot fully understand why but I do know the results. Small business is becoming a thing of the past. Fascism seems to be the direction we are going. I do apologize for going on and on and hope not to offend, this may not be the place for it but I have a passion regarding this and I do hope to make a difference one day. On a more personal note regarding this review. I am blown away. A "D" for quality, I don't know what more I could have done in the inspection and when i left you said that you had no idea of all of the issues I had found. A "C" for responsiveness, I answered the phone the first time you called and was at your home at the exact time we had scheduled and was there for a little over an hour, this also ties in with the "C" for punctuality. The "D" for professionalism, that one really gets me. I being the owner am not typically working in the field so I am not dirty or sweaty and a dress very nice and my picture is on my website and i look the same today but a little heavier. The "D" for price is as I have said above, and in some other replies, a matter of opinion. We do have a high reputation in Central Florida, we do not and cannot compete with the next door neighbor electrician, the handyman or any type of unlicensed electrician. There are many expenses that we pay to keep this operation running. More than I think are fair but once again, a matter of opinion. Maybe the IRS should have a place for reviews :). I am blown away by this review, all I did was an inspection. I honestly don't know what more I could have done. Tony Taylor CEO
